The metal does not work due to the feed lips needing to be flexible and springy. The Magpul AICS mags have a lot of bolt rubbing and friction on my rifle and I do not use the ones I own. The only ones that work well with this I have found are the Ruger Gen2 mags.
@@OnTheScout If not for the stripper clips.... Which ruger mags feed best? Gen 1, 2, or the metal mags? unfortunately I bought the magpuls and now I need to purchase mags again. The only mag I have that works is the 3 round gen1 poly mag that feeds nicely. Diggin your content. btw... I have a ss LH 18" 308 model.
So, what's the difference between a 3 round and 5 round stripper clip that it won't accept a five rounder without machining a huge notch in the receiver?
Somewhere, on some forum, some fudd is whining about how you're ruining the magazine by top-loading it.
Ruger actually says to do this!!!!
Beautiful GSR. I love that combination.
OK I am impressed...
Are you able to top off the magazine without removing it using individual rounds as well?
Ruger had a video of them touting this as a big feature of their poly mags.
Did you get that stock from ruger or is it a custom? Looking to replace my grey laminate and would love to have a good lookin walnut stock
It came with my rifle.
Thanks for the video, have you tried metal mag or magpul acis mags?

@@bobbychuckles8764 Gen 2 are the better ones.
Oh thats so cool, and thats with the factory Ruger Polymer 10 rounders?
Thanks for doing this.
The current gen Ruger poly mags. The first gen poly mags eat the stripper and get stopped up.
@@OnTheScout Good to know! Thank you.
Ever thought of using a 10 round 7.62 stripper clip and cutting it at 6 rounds to be able to 5 in at once?
As configured a GSR can only accept stripper clips of 3. There is a mod that can cut the receiver to make it accept 5 or 10.
@@OnTheScout where can I find that mod

What stripper clips are you using?
They are the ones from Fulton Armory.
@@OnTheScout Thank you.
@@spektr540hemi I use 5 round Aussie Fal stripper clips. I already have a bunch of them for feeding my Fal mags.
