I have the XT9, and while there are many things to like.. Including tapping into the speed of your ISP modem, the range is a bit less than advertised. I live in a modest 2000 sq ft home and I find with just 2 nodes (Main and 1 satellite), the devices at the end of my house was only getting RSSI signals at about -75 to -80 dBm. Once I added a second satellite, I was getting much better coverage at about -30 to -60 dBM alomost any where in my house.
I see in your vid at beginning while youre setting up it says "unsecured network" in orange. When you set your wifi name and password, will it then show up with a lock icon showing that it is a secured network?

Do you have to connect ASUS to Router? You said that one is down Stairs and one somewhere else, or do they pickup router signal and spread it through the house? I am using linksys Nodes and internet is only 500mb not as fast as yours as 850mb. Thank you
The ASUS nodes connect to each other wirelessly and creates a mesh network that spreads throughout your house. The ASUS Node in my office is connected to my ISP modem, the ASUS node that is downstairs wirelessly connects to the main ASUS node/router that is upstairs in my office. What speed do you pay for from your internet service provider?

Can you attach USB HDDs to both units and access both over WiFi?
Yes, you should be able to connect them to the USB ports on the back.

This is the very reason i bought this system, my garbage nighthawk hits the bin hard in 4 days from now.
can you separate SSID's on this? Or is it just one combined SSID?
Yep. You can create 3 different SSIDs (one per Tri-band- two 5Ghz bands and one 2.5 GHz band)- although you’ll then sharing bandwidth with one of the dedicated 5Ghz dedicated backhaul. If you set up a Guest Network, then I believe you can actually create four different SSIDs.
is it possible to add mesh model ZenWifi CT8 to the XT9 ?
I haven't tried, but you should be able to add other models to it to expand the mesh network.

I just got mine today. I must not have it set up right. using one as my router, wired connection, getting around 900mbps at my pc. Downstairs, maybe 60ft away, I'm only getting about 150 down. What gives?
Try to do a hard reset and set it up again.
I haven't found an answer for myself, maybe someone can tell me. I have ZenWIFI xt8, I want to connect it throughout the house as one network.
But, from the provider I have a modem with WIFI, to which I connect ZenWIFI xt8, then ZenWIFI xt8 create their own network around the house.
And it turns out that from the provider I have 1 WIFI with my own network, and from xt8 I have my own Mesh system.
What's wrong and how can I do it as one with my provider.

Login to the modem from your provider and disable the WiFi network then you’ll only have the WiFi from your XT8. You can find the login information for your provider’s modem on the back or underneath the modem.

How man y Clients can be connected at same time? I cant find that info in the specks and I have over 80 devices in my network.. actually Im using a Deco Xe75 pro and eventually lose connection from some devices like wyze cams or problems to use chromecast in 12 speakers with 650gb intenet connection
get the XT8 much cheaper and virtually the same.

I have the XT8, was good for two years, now it loses signal constantly all of a sudden, figure it’s firmware issue
@@Blahmanwhysoserious ialso had an XT8 since 2021 and it started getting flakey in operation a few months ago until it completely stopped working a couple of days ago. I've since taken it back to the store and am looking at getting a more reliable wifi 6 or 6E system. I was very disappointed with the XT8 after spending so much money on it!
One of my XT8 no longer powers on. But I need a mesh that can run the bands separately and ASUS has that option
