Great video, I have 1G fiber internet, Right now I have a Asus GT-AX 11000 pro for gaming and Wifi, I am looking to another Router, I was think of getting another Asus Ax11000 pro, Or 2 Asus zenwifi pro ET12, Which setup do you think will give me faster speeds with more courage?

With all the connected smart devices adding up in everyone's home this may seem like overkill but this is actually future proofing your network. Asus also has a cool feature that I use with the ZenWifi XT8 called wired backhaul that I love that keeps my 2 units running suburb. I love Asus and all of their free features and security cant beat it!

Yeah, ... same here with my three node XT8 mesh using wired backhaul for both secondary nodes to the main router/node.
And while I certainly like the aesthetics of the XT12/ET12's design. ...
I have to say unless you have a 2.5 gigabit internet service, ... which I don't (Only 1 gb up/down).
Or a 2.5 gigabit LAN speed capability, ... which I don't (Only 1 gb at present).
Or any 4x4 MIMO clients ... of which I don't have any (And don't anticipate any in the foreseeable future).
I don't see what advantage the XT12 can really offer me over the XT8 except for up to a 160 MHz channel bandwidth option for the 5GHz-1 band.

@@H.T.2forever agreed!! I’m old school too I like as many devices as I can hardwired so there isn’t as much congestion on my next work and I don’t see any ISP offering 2.5G for awhile. The 6gz band from what I herd has a lot of issues with it being so new too. No thank you especially for that price tag lol

Have you tested the setup using wireless backhaul to the nodes?

If you get a 1Gb line at your new place, can we get a re-test? 😊

I’ve got the et12 pro and wondered if you’ve ever bypassed the supplied WiFi router from your provider and used the ASUs as a router instead?

    That ZenWifi looks amazing!

      Agreed ...
But are they about $750 (XT12) or $850 (ET12) worth of "impressive" over my current system, for my finances anyhow. Is what I'm trying to decide on ....

I'm running WiFi 6 not E and live in a condo next to apartments. Every WiFi 5 channel has ten people on it and I get interference . So I have to run it at 20 MHz on channel 165 because It's the only unused channel where I dont get interference . But then I don't get my full net speed. Ive been looking at these to get in the future.

If you use it as an AP (disable the router function) can both 2.5gb ports be used for LAN? I would love to use one 2.5gb port for backhaul and the other for a gaming PC in two different rooms. Basically using it like a switch. The 1 gb ports can be used for other devices like my Shield TV and printer.
I plan to run an OPNsense router/FW that has 2.5 GB ports.

No. It NEVER reaches 2.5gb even when connected directly to the 2.5gb WAN Port. The max I have been able to get is 940mb. I have had a ticket with Asus for a while.

@@GeorgeKFahnbulleh well that's disappointing. I've actually decided to wait for wifi 7. Plus I'm leaning towards a decided AP so I can take advantage of VLANs.

@@TechieZeddie This next version of this is supposed to have 10GB ethernet output.
With this one my internet speed coming in is measured at 2.2GB, But going out it is less than 1 GB. Very disappointing!

Hi, I am always having problem with it and I have to restart it in order to have it work again. The software is up to date. Now I am traveling and it disconnect again and I can’t connect to my home devices. Is there a way to restart it again remotely by mobile App?

I think there was an option in the system settings to reboot the system, but if you dont figure it out maybe try contacting asus support

Without any walls in between, two XT12 units can cover an area of up to 1800 square meters

Stop pausing for emphasis on the first syllable, it just doesn't work for *you*, at all --- in fact it made me give up half way through because it's very annoying.
