Such a good wheat beer. I agree with Joe's score a little bit more in the sense that I think this beer approaches being outstanding but just lacks some character. Which makes it what it is. "Crushable" as you guys said lol. But I'm always left wishing it had a little bit more to give.
True, there is definitely a consistency of quality across all their brews. This one is definitely worth picking up as a one off if you haven’t had it in a while. It’s a fun beer experience.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! The first time I tried this beer I was going in blind too. It’s a fun beer experience when you don’t know what to expect.
This is one of those beers that deserves however high of a score anyone would like to give it I think. There’s no wrong answer there lol. It’s so high quality and masterfully crafted, it just boils down to subjective preferences.
Their festbier is really nice too. I think I remember seeing you guys try that one once. I don't get a lot of the hate around this beer, sure it's light but like you said that's part of its appeal for me. If you want a heavier, maltier wheat beer there are plenty of those to choose from. This is its own thing and it's good to have choice and variety.
I forget exactly what the statistical perentage is, but I know it's almost 50/50 and leaning slightly towards people perceiving it as banana as the majority.
I am a dedicated Weissbier guy. So here is my everyday pub experience: Me: Do you have any Weissbier? Guy: Er....we do have Erdinger... Me: No thanks. I want a Weissbier not a mislabeled lager in a cool glass... Guy: ( thinks) Oh God, not another one of those guys....
I really enjoy my wheat beers, especially hefeweizen. I enjoy Erdinger, it is good, but there are some others that leave it behind. Unfortunately we only have a limited selection where I live, unless I want to pay insane prices. Erdinger is one of those. When you drink them a lot, you learn to pour them a little slower than most beers. Really enjoying your channel guys, I only found you today and have watched a few episodes so far.
I know what you mean, where I’m living in Montreal right now Erdinger is one of the only German wheat beers that’s easy to find. Agreed that there are many more that are far better. Paulaner for example is one we really love. Thanks for watching and for the kind words! Cheers 🍻
Hey guys! Love the channel! I have a recommendation for y'all, you guys should try some beer from my hometown of Terre Haute, Indiana. We have a brewer called Terre Haute Brewing Company. We have a lot of IPA's that i think you guys would enjoy!
Thanks so much for the recommendation! If we ever come across any of their beers, we'll definitely pick them up and give them a try. I did a little beer research and looked into the company, their beers sound delicious. I'd be curious to try the Barrel Aged Rose. I also really like that they have a few cream ales canned, a very underrated style. Cheers!
Are you guys ready to kick off the best season of the year to be alive for a beer drinker? All of the Oktoberfests are rolling out here in States. I'm really looking forward to trying the Sierra Nevada Festbier this year since it's the first time they are doing a collab with a German brewery since before Covid. I always looked forward to their collabs every year up through 2019. I picked up a 6-pack today. It's also interesting in that it's the first time they've done the 'Festbier' lighter style of Oktoberfest as opposed to the Märzen style.
It’s our favorite time of year as beer drinkers! It’s a little bit of a shame because I don’t get a lot of the Oktoberfest beers here in Canada unfortunately. So we usually go with the theme of “Oktoberfest inspired” and use it as an excuse to tackle some big Munich breweries that we haven’t touched on yet. You guys down in the states are really lucky with the beers you can get.
also one more thing, I know it's ur tradition to do a refresher, but specifically with bottle conditioned weissbiers, if u don't pour in the rest of it, u won't get the proper full ester profile and flavours.
Its ok but not the best weisdbier in my opinion its a weissbier that has a high turnover as its sold everywhere.... the best weissbier are the small brewerys in the villages of Bavaria that are nit distributed.... at least thats my opinion....

Flensburger Dunkel is amazing as well.
I’ve never tried it, or seen it available here where I am in Canada. But have heard very very good things.
@@BeerBrackets we get both here in the states I like both
I know I've had this one at some point in the past, but it's been awhile. Everything Erdinger makes is so good.
True, there is definitely a consistency of quality across all their brews. This one is definitely worth picking up as a one off if you haven’t had it in a while. It’s a fun beer experience.
just bought it blind not knowing about it. very happy I picked it up. great review

now we're talkin! jaja this is one of my favorites. i'd give it a much higher score then that tho, better then the dunkel for me.

10:53 the bubblegum ester note ur getting is actually quite a fascinating one because some people perceive it as banana or bubble gum.
I forget exactly what the statistical perentage is, but I know it's almost 50/50 and leaning slightly towards people perceiving it as banana as the majority.
That’s so interesting! Alessandro definitely gets the bubble gum descriptor a lot more than I do. I usually interpret that as banana.

Your comments always make our day Niall! 😂🍺
It’s a wheat beer how is not a “ Weissbier”?not trolling curious
It’s not terrible but it’s miles off from the likes of weihenstephaner and Paulaner

I had their Krystal once and it was even lighter than their normal weissbier. Which is saying something. Not a bad drop this one. Very refreshing.
It’s so light!
I have had the dunkel. Mmmmmmmmm.
SO good!

Very true!
I like this ale, although I suppose it might be considered a bit bland.

Would love to try those. It’s on the beer bucket list of pilgrimages that must be made, that’s for sure.
Nah...Erdinger isnt that good
