Louisiana Beer Reviews: Blue Moon
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 лют 2025
- 5.4% alcohol. 9 IBU. Certified Kosher. Introduced in 1995. A Molson-Coors brand.
" It started with our brewmaster, Keith Villa, wanting to craft a beer inspired by the flavorful Belgian Wits he enjoyed while studying brewing in Belgium. He brewed his interpretation using Valencia orange peel versus the traditional tart Curaçao orange peel, for a subtle sweetness, and added a touch of coriander to provide balance. Then he added oats and wheat to create a smooth, creamy finish that’s inviting to the palate. As a final touch, he garnished the beer with an orange slice to heighten the citrus aroma and taste. Its natural unfiltered appearance adds to the depth of flavors in Belgian White*."

Blue moon tastes so good when winter hits spring. Nothing pairs to it. Great review!
Thanks! And, Blue Moon continues to be popular.
One of my personal favs. Spot on with the review as always. Thanks!
Excellent, and thanks so much, Sean Paul. I appreciate you watching!
I can only stomach one bottle of these at a time. Loved them when I was younger though. Cheers!
Thanks for watching, neuzeli. I appreciate it!
Great weather for January. Interesting review.
That day really was splendid. I'm glad you liked it, billy!
Love your vids Ron. Much love from Chicago.
Thanks a lot, Waist Management. I appreciate you watching! Greeting to you, in Chicago!
I got a tall boy of this the other day. I got home from work and this is a refreshing beer!
I'm glad to hear this!
It’s a great beer buddy
I'm glad you like it, David.
@@ronaldtheriot thanks Ron buddy
Good review, this beer is delicious.
Thanks, and I'm glad you like it. I appreciate you watching, Ed Alvarez!
Great review brother 👍
Thanks, Clorox Bleach. I appreciate you watching!
Very good review.
Thanks, Bucky!
I just got me a 6 pack of that today, one of the best things to be drinking after about 3 hours of bicycle riding
I'm glad you like it, and dthanks for watching, Leon McDonald. I appreciate it!
A very enjoyable beer. I can see why this is so popular.
I used to not like it, so much, but I've come around to it.
I just enjoyed some blue moons while watching the Chiefs/packers football game. I enjoy it.
I'm glad to hear that. Thanks for watching, Thomas Maner. I appreciate it!
Solid review. We graded it about the same. Industrial clean! 😁🍻
Right. Industrial clean!
Love this one of the best beers I drink this a lot thanks for the review
I'm glad you like it, and thanks for watching, ruku. I appreciate it!
Hate coors , they made this beer. Would never buy it lol but was handed a 6 pack free today not turning that down !
You may as well work with what you get.
Blue moon samuel Adam's winter snap and guiness draught are my favorites
Those are two good choices. Thanks for watching, john doee. I appreciate it!
I love a good blue moon when I am bored with the other beers.
And, if you enjoy it, that's what counts. Thanks for watching, Johnny5889. I appreciate it!
This guy's accent is like my father; it comes back randomly then leaves without warning.
I didn't realize it did that. Thanks for watching, rob rick. I appreciate it!
I don't find myself drinking blue moon so much anymore, it was good for the time but have moved on from the wheat beers. Great review Ron Cheers!
Thanks so much, Bob! Well, I never did drink it, much, myself.
Here in Montreal,it's called Belgian Moon.Same logo and colours.
Right, I heard about that. Well, thanks for watching, Mr. Savoie. I appreciate it!
I enjoy an occasional blue moon when out eating. It's a good beer. Had myself a Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA yesterday with a 1/2 pound bacon cheeseburger...loved it!
lee chan Well I'm a bad man!
Ha-ha.
Well, I sure hope the 90-Minute shows up, in Louisiana.
Shame with Killian's Red - it was crowd pleaser, including myself. Hoegaarden is the only Belgische witbier that I can think of that was originally from Belgium. A quich search on BA shows a lot of breweries here in the states. Allagash remains my favorite but I'll drink a Blue Moon witbier anyday. While not technically a craft beer, seeing it in the stores while close to the age of 21 over 10 years ago and realizing beer isn't just lager was what got me outside the macro lager. The first three beers I bought at 21 were Newcastle Brown Ale, Blue Moon, and Arrogant Bastard Ale (Stone). The last one was hard to swallow with no real exposure to a good amount of hops but the 7.2% ABV kicked in so quickly that anything tasted good.
That was an interesting way to start off your beer experience, Rob.
I agree I think this is Alot better than Samuel Adams but I also haven't had a Samuel Adams since I was just 21 so I definitely think I need to revisit now that I know what to look for in a good beer. Once you understand the ingredients it's a different ball game. Great reviews brother
You're right, and you should revisit Samuel Adams. Thanks! I appreciate you watching, King Louis Beer Reviews!
My favorite beer is coors light and my favorite whiskey is crown royal vanilla.
I've never had any flavored Crown Royal flavored ones. Thanks for watching, RedNeckRomeo1242. I appreciate it!
Great review as always..." industrialized cleanness"...one way to put it I suppose...I tried it I liked it bunches and bunches !!!
I was trying to figure out how to describe it. I'm glad you like Blue Moon, joe!
Yeah, the Rounder and the Farmhouse Ale were excellent beers, IMO. It's a shame that they are no longer produced. I do enjoy Blue Moon; however, if I'm going to drink a Molson-Coors brand, I'd rather have a Coors Banquet or a Molson Gold. But, to be fair, I'm not the biggest wheat beer fanatic out there. Great review, as always, and cheers!
I can definitely live without wheat beers. I really want to revisit Coors Extra Gold Lager!
Also if you like barley wine beers try gold label it's not my thing but it's 8.5 from England it's very expensive here a 4 pack is 6pound
I would like to try that one, but I have never seen it, in the USA.
I liked that wheat beer from what I recall. I wonder how this taste compared to Sam Adams. Because to me like you seemed there wheat beers all taste the same with the spices they use.
I agree with that, Cap.
Variety packs are nice to not have to buy a 6 or 12 to try out...obvi: I know lol. Like the 5.4 and u should try it avec l'orange.
Yes, I could try it with orange, but I don't really care for fruit.
If it wasn't 5.4 I wouldn't like it..and the 15 pack can were on sale for 12.99..4 dollars below usual price. So I had to get it.
Leinenkugel's?
What? I don't understand.
In the video, you were trying to think of the name of other variety packs you'd purchase before you would purchase a Samuel Adams variety pack? Was just guessing that Leinenkugel's was what you were trying to think of.
Were you trying to think of Leinenkugel's as the other variety pack ?
That’s what I was thinking
Or Sierra Nevada possibly
Can u do bluemoon mango wheat
Yes, I will do that, for you. Thanks for watching, no1foru dallan. I appreciate it!
I could not pass this beer up for $5 a six pack today at Albertsons at the one day sale. (freshest til April 15 2019).
What a great price!
That’s my summer beer
I'm glad you enjoy it, and thanks for watching, ovtrice84. I appreciate it!
Magic Hat has enjoyable variety packs.
Yes, I have noticed those, but I've not ever bought any of them.
I've never been a fan of coriander. And it seems to me that a good beer should not require a piece of fruit to be good. Having said that, it's a pretty good thirst quencher.
Right- I could live without coriander, myself, James. And, I agree with your second comment, too.
Blue Moon does a good job with their Belgian White and Harvest Pumpkin. Those are very enjoyable.
Sam's usually does a good job but I just had one from their spring pack that was a true dud. It's called Kellerbier and it was bland and boring. I actually want to meet the guy who approved that one and have his head examined. It was just awful. I'm trying to find their new Sam '76 and New England IPA but still can't find them in the 3rd biggest city in Massachusetts.
Good review sir. Cheers.
Thanks a lot, Life, and I appreciate it! Ah! I bought that Sam '76, just last week!
Maybe I’m completely off, but that glass they sent you is a Pilsner glass. Or am I missing something? Thanks for the review man, you’re the best
No, I think it's a half-sized hefe-weizen glass. I appreciate your support!
Sam Adams Boston Lager, October Fest, Winter Lager, Cream Stout and Black Lager are my 5 favs from Sam's. The only other one I don't mind is their "light," though it's not too light. I'd pick Sam over Blue Moon, but we all have our prefences. about 5 years ago i'd make fun of Blue Moon because I was one of those beer snobs. Not anymore, not a bad beer, and yes, very clean. Nice review!
Ah, I was about to ask you, about that Boston Ale. Thanks, and I appreciate your interesting comments.
When I eat pizza I always drink blue moon
Excellent! Thanks for watching, DAVID PECKHAM. I appreciate it!
Hey Ron can you do more double down
Ruben Mendez I agree!
Well, guys, I have actually already "double downed" this beer.
Frank Sinatra sings a good Blue Moon
I might have heard that, before. Thanks for watching, Toby Cadenhead. I appreciate it!
I enjoy Blue Moon from time to time. Decent but not great.
I agree, Jean.
Backed up on Beer Reviews... The Weather Looks like Fall ? I Like Shock Top Better Due to Price 16 oz Can $1 Can not beat that... Blue Moon is Actually made after the Original Belgium Recipe... However Since Shock Top Taste More Like Beer So In Accordance with the BJCP Guide lines more of a beer taste should win a contest... Nice Review Cheers...
Interesting, Billy. Thanks, and cheers, back to you!
bluemoon is over rated in my opinion and not a good representation of a wheat beer. Good to see you reviewing the more popular beers . sam adams> blue moon.
Well, even though we don't necessarily agree, I think that's okay. Thanks for watching, Eric Serrano. I appreciate it!
Leinikugle can’t spell it
Leinenkugel's.
not a fan of wheat beers.
Neither, me. Thanks for watching, Abram Little. I appreciate it!
