Beer Brackets [🍺]
Canada
Приєднався 4 лис 2020
One beer to open, one beer to close. That's all you need to know to start your journey in the wide and mysterious world of Beer Brackets.
Joe and Alessandro met over a Guinness in a pub while on solo trips in Ireland in 2014. While they've always lived in different countries, they kept a friendship meeting annually to explore different cities and taste the local brews. While isolating during covid, they began having virtual meetups to open and close their beer brackets. Presenting different beers they found locally that they couldn't wait to tell the other about. Then they thought...why not share our beer journey with anyone else who'd like to have a beer with us.
Join Joe and Ale as they embark on their beer brackets journey. How will a Canadian and an Italian agree on different beers and where will the brackets take us?
Opening and closing the beer brackets is a way to remind ourselves that it's not only about drinking beer. It's about what happens before, in between and after.

Miller Lite 🇺🇸 - Review

Calorie-reduced light beer was first introduced to the market by New York's Rheingold Brewery as "Gablinger's Diet Beer", brewed using a process developed in 1964 by Beer Alchemist Hersch Gablinger of Basel, Switzerland. The version that evolved into Miller Lite had its origins in a recipe developed in 1967 by Beer Alchemist Joseph L. Owades, PhD, a biochemist working for Rheingold. This brew e...

This one has been a long time coming. The "Champagne of Beers!" so claims Molson/Coors. This brew has been around for a century and was originally concocted as to fill what Miller thought was a void in the beer market place. A classy, champagne-like beer for the well-to-do higher up's in society that wanted to sip their beers out of fancy long-stemmed glassware. An American-style lager introduc...

Samuel Adams Boston Lager 🇺🇸 - Review
Переглядів 4662 місяці тому
There's a little bit of controversy around this American beer staple after the Boston Beer Company "remastered" their historic Boston Lager. The resulting beer isn't quite what most beer explorers remember and is a a little bit more hop focused than some would like. Abandoning the bold maltiness that made the Boston Lager such a hit. How will it hold up under the luke warm lights of a beer brac...

I thought the bottle had it's own widget called the rocket?
Definitely the bottle for me; especially the 660ml bottle, as long it's kept out of direct sunlight, of course - thanks for uploading; liked and subscribed.
Thanks for watching! Cheers 🍻
Video has no value...
Video has actually become the #1 form of content in 2024, surpassing photos and written forms such as tweets (x’s?), blogs and articles. TikTok helped push along a movement that had been growing for years forcing platforms like Instagram and Facebook to adopt reels themselves as their primary form of content too. It’s really interesting. So quite the contrary, video probably has the most value out of any other medium in todays day and age.
Would love to hear your guys’ thoughts on Coors Banquet
You’re not the first one to request it. Unfortunately it’s not available in Canada, so I can’t get my hands on it. I do intend on getting it the next time I’m down in the U.S. though!
Blue Moon for me! Hoegaarden, the spices are more pronounced and the Blue Moon is more tamed and drinkable!
Wow, this sounds like it's right up my alley. I've seen it maybe once in Montreal and I don't even remember where... I've been drinking lots of NAs recently, but they just don't seem to hit the spot quite right. I'll keep my eye out for some Athletic
It’s the best NA I’ve been able to find in Montreal so far, so definitely recommend giving it a shot if you can find it. The IGA and Provigos near me both carry it now, haven’t seen it in a dep yet.
@@BeerBrackets Nice. My IGA doesn't have it, but I'll keep looking
@@xBIG_MO Good luck beer hunting! Avoid the golden ale if you see that one, it's not the same quality level.
This is one of my favourites IPA I like henaken 0.0 but it’s too expensive I got my non alcoholic beer mostly from LCBO and sometimes food basics and metro cheers buds
It has very low carbs so something is going to have to give to achieve that. Otherwise it’s a good drinking thirst quenching beer. I enjoy it. Keep up the good work
I was hoping you guys would get to this one. It's been a go-to of mine for a long time. Been trying to cut back a bit on alcohol consumption and this been a miracle for that. Satisfies that beer craving so well.
One of the owners of the company is a former brewer at one of my favorite breweries in Santa Fe. I like their products, but don't really like to stray from the IPAs. Going into the stouts and lighter beers gives that, as you say, "beer tomato" flavor.
It seems as though hops are the most effective way to hide those unappealing flavours in NA beers. I got a pack of their golden ale recently and it’s really not on the same level. Excited to try the hazy
I agree with the previous comment who says you buy them out of a 12 or 24 pack. This eliminates the light factor and you get a an excellent beer no bitterness, clean and silky finish like the reviewer’s mention. The cans definitely taste different, a little less flavor and more carbonation and metal notes at the finish..IMO
This was such a great episode. The beer battles! You guys are so genuine and original. I liked this beer, didn’t love it. I’d gave it a 2/5. Had to try it. Loved the episode. You guys rocked.
The beer battles are a thing! Beer history doesn’t lie ;) Thanks so much for the very kind words and for watching, you made our day 🙇🏻
extra stout is wayy more flavor full
Very true!
Great review, I definitely agree. Today, I tried one and liked it. I only knew the draught version. In comparison, this one is quite prominent in taste. For me, not a "beginner beer", it is like having your coffee, black, no sugar, no milk.
Perfect way of describing it!
one of the best old-world beers I've tried, the monks really loved the get their buzz on while communicating with god!
Oh they did alright … with every monk-made beer we review, the rabbit hole gets deeper and deeper
Awesome review guys it is a great beer I looks forward to watching more of your videos cheers
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! Cheers my friend 🍻
BY THE WAY, I've searched high and low for other reviews and you guys are always tops. PLEASE keep going and making quality content! Cheers!
Cheers my friend! 🍻 You made our day
This is my first Belgium beer besides the Trappist ales I've been tasting. This is a great respite! I can't wait to try the Nocturna and the Noel!
The Nocturna is absolutely fantastic… I mean it got a perfect score from us for a reason. What a beer experience
Side note: I LOVE the megaman sound effect, as well as the 8-bit feel of this channel. Bravo, gentlemen!
You’re the first one to recognize it as megaman! Bravo to you as well good sir
@@BeerBrackets I do love me some megaman
Very good episode, fun watch for a Friday evening. All these beers sound delicious.
Totally agree
I tried it. It tastes like you're drinking some breakfast cereal. 🤮
I rate Strafe-Hendrick triple as high as Westmalle, maybe a bit better (photo finish). Westmalle is fantastic.
Have never tried the Strafe-Hendrick! Will Keep an eye open for it
It’s pretty good non alcoholic beer cheers buds
What a lineup tonight! Great video, boys🍻
It was pretty epic, not gonna lie. Thanks for watching Mo!
I bought that chimay mixt pack that alesandro mentioned. The gold was really really good, you described it perfectly Joe. I could almost taste it again 🤣 Happy for A and his family that they're good!
Happy to be able to bring up a cherished beer memory for you my friend! 😂
Happy to hear Ale and his family got through unscathed! Still watching as I leave this comment, but have to say I could listen to you guys tell stories and talk beer for hours. Ever think of doing a podcast? Although there are a million podcasts out there... so maybe stick to UA-cam lol. The old peculier sounds delicious, I wish I could get it.
Haha thanks as always for the very kind words Jake, you’re very appreciated. Yeah I don’t know if we’ll be doing a podcast anytime soon, but most of our videos are long enough that they’re kinda like short podcast episodes? Believe me, I wish I could get the old peculier too.
Loving this beer! I've been watching you guys and loving this beer journey of ours. I've begun with the Trappist Ales and here I am in Germany. Where will I go next?! Who cares, it's a wonderful ride. Cheers, boys!
This comment made our day, thanks so much for watching! We love hearing that you’re on your own beer exploration journey while watching ours. Happy you enjoyed the Korbinian! What an amazing beer. Cheers fellow beer explorer 🍻
Aroma cheers my friends 🍻
Aroma cheers!
I like both, but prefer the more malty character of Molson. If I'm drinking right after playing hockey, I prefer Labatt, because it has a cleaner taste to it, but 60 minutes later, I'm heading back to Molson.
Yuengling...Heiny is to perfumy..colognish.
That’s the 🦨!
Can!!!! Can get it way colder
New Holland dragons milk bourbon barrel beer is a lot better than Guinness stout and draft very strong but very marshmellowy great tasting beer not sure if that helps you out
Extra stout feels a bit like a dunkel beer but very flavorful beer it creeps up on you very tasty and relaxing
Guinness extra stout has a crisper strong beer and that bite is amazing goes down very smooth the smell gets me very excited to drink you guys do a great review love the channel and content keep up the great work
Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching! You’re very right, definitely a crisper and stronger beer. Great descriptions
Very similar to dark German beer but a little bit better than I thought
It is pretty good!
One of my favorite beers goes down so smooth has a crisp bite to it and it creeps up on you very fast great buzz and very easy to drink
One of my favorites too
I think y'all should drink it out the bottle
I love this channel so much. I usually try and save your episodes for the weekends so I can watch along at night with a beer in peace and quiet after the wife goes to bed lol. But now it's become part of my afternoon work routine, I have you on while I work and it helps me focus. BUT it makes me crave a beer like crazy, so I try as much as possible to hold out until I can meditate with a beer while watching. Anyways, cheers and thanks for the content you two.
Another really good video lads covering a great beer topic!!! I have always been a lager man and I have had many small periods of enjoying every other style! I love all beer but I truly believe you just can’t beat a well done lager, specifically a Pilsner! As I said great video and keep up these great conversation videos love it!!
Thanks Boydo! I can say the same. I enjoy most styles (still can't do lambics) and go through little stretches where my go-to will be something different, but always come back to a nice well done lager or pilsner.
my favorite light beer could for drinking 10 before a football game
Miller is a fine light beer. It has a really dry finish so if you’re young and looking to “pound beers” it is the way to go in my opinion. Thats the role it serves 😂 I do not really get this anymore in my older age. It is not a sit around and have a couple to enjoy the taste type of beer, but it serves its place well.
I would agree with that 100%! That's pretty much the same conclusion we came to as well. Cheers and thanks for watching!
High life >>
I love miller light and coors light both of my favourite light beers cheers buddy
Cheers David! How was the trip to Florida?
@ it’s was fantastic joe buddy how was your trip to Florida
That's so great to hear! Mine was amazing, very short. Was there for 2 days to celebrate Alessandro's 40th bday with him. We had some great times. Lots of pints of Guinness were drank.
@ yessir joe buddy did you drive or take a airplane we drove and I I will be turning 27 on Saturday
I think Miller Lite is fine, but it's no better than less expensive substitutes, such as Milwaukee's Best Light.
Thanks for relieving my stress and while watching election returns here in the USA. 😂
🤣 we’re happy to be of service 🫡 🍻
I'm shocked Miller Lite won. Miller High Life or Coors Banquet were always the 'hipster' beer snobs' guilty pleasure beers of choice when I was younger. It was always what we chose to drink when we weren't drinking a 'fancy' micro brew or something imported lol.
Yeah I was a little bit shocked too tbh, just from the reputations that the two beers have. That’s one of the reason we love doing these category but category comparisons like this. You often get surprising results. That’s so funny, for me in the 2005-2010 period the hipster beer snobs guilty pleasure choice was Pabst.
@@BeerBracketsabsolutely that too. I forgot about PBR. 😂
beer alchemist 🤣🤣🤣 I had no idea a Miller beer would have such a cool history. who knew bro!! awesome episode as always amigos. thanks for the laughs
Right?? Surprised us too when we were doing our beer research
Lager are great, ales are great, beer is great
Funny thing is, this and Sierra nevada are similar, and they both Kickstarted the craft movement in the 80s.
