What to know BEFORE you come to Bali: Respecting local culture

- Bali was recently in the international news for deporting a few Bule (foreigners) who had transgressed social mores. To not find yourself in the same situation, or just to be a more enlightened and respectful traveler, I created this video to give some guidelines on how to be socially aware.
Bali is a welcoming and beautiful island with local people who are (almost unanimously) kind, respectful and discrete. As foreigners, it is our responsibility to act similarly and not wear out our welcome.
The way you talked about these sensitive subjects, in a respectful and informative way really shows your maturity as a youtuber/vlogger. Thank you for this!
Everywhere we go, this word that must go with us: Respect and Empathy towards others. Thank you Adrien. That would be nice to converse with you in Bali.
You are so well spoken and articulate. Thank you for putting this out there. I wish all people coming to Bali took this 101 respect to Bali course.
Man, congrats, I have looked for a channel like yours since a few weeks now. Bless you!
Respect you my friend.
Dimana bumi dipijak
Disitu langit dijunjung
Other people will respect you if you respect other people.
Nice video bro
Thank you Adrien .. you are a very kind and humble person, your fluency in Bahasa shows that you respect Indonesia and love Bali sincerely. 🙏😊 #staysafe #stayhealthy #indonesia #bali
I agree with you Totally.
Hi Adrien. I am thinking of moving to Bali for retirement. I was planning on having a villa built. Was it hard to acustomize yourself to this environment. I am from Canada. I love your videos on the Bali culture. I totally agree with all your comments. We should treat all people the way we would like to be treated. May reach out to you for more tips on living in Bali
Hi Dean
Bruce here, lived in Bali 10 yes. Covid changed things. Renting 2 bdrm 400 $. Cable & own modem available. Car was difficult but now roads are empty. Hire a housekeeper, helps give back. ATM available, keeping money in Canada. Mail, DHL, western union, phones, email, post offices all good.
ps. Adrien has good sense.
Very good. I agree 100%. We need to be respectful to other cultures when we travel.
Hi Adrien, just found your video and as Indonesian myself I think your video is very thoughtful. Hope more "bule" have the same thoughts like you.
Wow how unfortunate common sense & respect is no longer common! Thx 4 the reminder
Good honest and what should be (self explanatory) advice cheers 👍
Bless your heart and soul, love
Nice one Adrien !!!

British tourists are known everywhere here in Europe for being drunk and causing a scene.. 😅
Bali and it's people sound wonderful!
I can not imagine being terrible in any of the ways you;ve mentioned, but have travelled enough to see this bad behavior first hand.
I know that rubbish is a problem and that there is a need to help street animals, so i think a great way to give back might be doing a beach clean-up or helping at an animal shelter.
Thanks for the politely given advice.
Off topic, but if you have the inclination, would you walk us through how you go about having bespoke clothing or home furnishings made?
Bali is the only place that you can have BBQ pork in Indonesia
