- Hello and Welcome back! In this video I'm going to be sharing with you 12 things you need to know before you go to Bali in 2023. Jay and I spent November and the first 5 days in December of 2022 in Bali and it was an AMAZING experience. The hardest thing to explain in this video was the renewing your visa details so I'll break it down here.
If you plan on using an Agent:
It cost us 850KIDR per person and 1 trip to immigration for fingerprints and photos. Within 7-10 business days we had our passports back and had ZERO issues.
850K IDR = 75.42 x 2= 150.84
plus 30CAD for 1 round trip taxi ride to immigration
150.84 + 30= 180.84( current conversion rate today)
If you plan to do it yourself:
500KIDR = 44.86 x2 = 88.72
plus 90 CAD (3 round trip taxi rides to immigration)
88.72+ 90= 178.72 (current conversion rate today)
We found that it was a time saver just to use the agent, it was safe and we could continue having fun while everything was taken care of.
If YOU have any recommendations we'd love to hear them! Thanks in advance!

❤️ Again, THANKS so much for watching!
Hi there, I went to Bali for 6 weeks last May and I stumbled across your video. I travelled solo most of my time, and the best thing for me was to hire a scooter (prices ranged from 60 k to 100 k) and bring a big hiking backpack, I was so much more mobile and flexible that way. I tried only going by Gojek for a couple of days, but I felt so limited in basically anything I wanted to do. Pretty much everything you mentioned was relevant and important to me too, so great video!
Hi there! Thank you for your feedback, it means a lot! We also rented a scooter and we loved having the freedom! 👍 thank you for watching! I'm looking forward to going back! 🙂
A visa on arrival can now be purchased online up to 14 days prior to arrival. This may be a better option for some people. Thanks for the vids.
Hi Alistar Taylor! Wow, I didn't know this.... what a great option. Thank you for this great information 👍 thanks for watching, means a lot. ❤️
Very informative! Best wishes with your channel!😊
Hi Yvonne Yu! 👋 Thank you very much, I appreciate your feedback! Thank you for watching! 😊
Thank you for an informative video
Hi there nirvana ramdin 👋 Thank you so much for your feedback, means a lot! We are looking forward to hearing back to Bali! Thank you for watching! ❤️
Thanks for video
Hi Baliwalknshops! 👋 You are very welcome! Thank you for watching! ❤️
In Canada the Home Trust Visa card does not charge a foreign transaction fee. If you use it with apple pay and tap it’s pretty safe and cheaper than taking cash out of the ATM. As for Mexico, Huatulco is our favourite spot! It’s hot like SE Asia but the Pacific ocean is cool. No jacket needed in Huatulco and that will help keep your carry-on manageable. We have always wanted to go to Oaxaca City because of the beautiful architecture and churches. Maybe you should head there!
Hi there, Gary & Linda! Yes, we have an international bank account that doesn't charge fees either, we set this up through Scotiabank before we set out on our travels! It's great! I'm looking forward to checking out both of those places, great recommendations, thank you so much! 😊
Too many recommendations to list in Mexico! So exciting!! 😀
Hahaha....top 3? What's your thoughts Karen?
@@wattstraveling Huatulco, Isla Mujeres & Bacalar!!! *We think,,, been arguing back and forth LOL
@@kszid oh great! Thank you
Going to any SEA countries it is safer to use cash cos you never know 😅. Best time to Bali is July to be honest. You look great now. Maybe it's the cold weather. Have a great time in Mexico and can't wait to see the videos
Hi Cheryl Lim! Yes, I agree with July that would be in the middle of dry season 👍. Thank you for the compliment, but I really do hate the cold. The one thing about being home is that I actually do my hair and wear a little makeup. When i travel, I don't usually do my hair, and mascara is my only makeup! Lol
We are looking forward to Mexico too! 🇲🇽 thanks for watching ❤️
Thanks for these insights. Where in Bali is the immigration office?
Hi Jay J! We went into Denpasar. We got there right when it opened, there was about 30-40ish people in front of us..... but it was a smooth process.... we went to the counter got our number, about 45 minutes later we were back in the taxi heading back to Ubud. It worked out great. Thank you for your feedback, and thanks for watching. Means alot 😊
Go to Zihuatanejo, Mexico!
Hi Katie Hayes! I'll have to look it up..... I'm looking forward to getting lost in Mexico! Thank you for your recommendation, and thank you for watching. ❤️
OMG is monsun session...
It rained a lot....I couldn't believe how much it flooded the street! 😮 thanks for watching ❤️
What about drinks with ice? Should that be avoided too?
Hi Farah Humphreys! 👋 we actually had drinks with ice in restaurants only and never got sick. So based on my experience I'd say restaurant ice is safe. Thank you for your comment! 😊
But Indonesia, not just Bali
Lol.....😉
No one is going to buy a 20lt jug of water 😂… she means buy bottled water.. Evian etc
Hi Fernando! 👋 many people that live long term use the big jugs all the time and they are the most inexpensive way to buy water! If you are staying short term, then yes..... more convenient sized bottles! Just don't drink the tap water! 👍thanks for watching!
@@wattstraveling oh wow didn’t know. Thanks
