Nice, the 572 is a good choice. I tend to go with husky but three only 500 series saws I've run that were any good were the 550 mk2, 572 and the 592 so at least you got a good one. You can pickup adapter from cannon bar works and run the stihl light bars that way all your mounts and chains are the same.
@765Guys the t540xp mk3 is pretty sweet after you port it but out of the box it's a terrible saw so I don't usually recommend them. Besides that haven't cared for the new Husqvarna saws and I usually always go husky.
@765Guys nice, glad to hear it's been good for ya. I picked up 3 brand new to replace our 201s and 2 of them been in the shop 90% of the time we've owned them. The third had lot of little issues and the auto tune was nowhere near as fast to adjust as stihl making them hard to start lot of the time. They told me go ahead and do whatever with it so I ported it and that helped a ton still not a great auto tune saw but once it gets dialed in now it will pretty much out cut any top handle on the market even ported 200s which have beat most any saw i compare to them. I do like the design and ergonomics but just couldn't ever recommend them to make a living with no way.
@765Guys i really don't like the 201s either I wish the Husqvarna were better for us cause the 201 my absolute least favorite top handle. That being said they almost never act up even after a ton of hours and they are easy to fix at least for a top handle. I didn't like how Husqvarna just blew me off about 3 new saws either after having bad response from my dealer just all around bummed me out. My 395 still my favorite saw of all time though and i plan to get a lot more 300 series saws going forward.
I have 572XP and am also a south paw who cuts "cow handed" like you. I use a full wrap handle that "might" help a little, but gets in the way when cutting low stumps. The chain catcher being in good shape is more important to me than failing to manage kick-back; I seem to avoid and handle kicks pretty good (knocking on wood). That is an expensive bar; bar oil is cheaper than bars, so go ahead and turn that oiler screw out to max :-) .
As a lefty I feel safer cutting right handed, but I try to alternate…cuz being a lefty sucks haha. Cut how you feel comfortable brother. Get after it guys 👊🔥
