A 16 minute video, and one throwaway line gets everyone's attention. I don't know if that was an intentional pun or a Freudian slip, but you got our attention! We do love our Arkansas women.
I have the same saw, works extremely well. It certainly is a beast, always trying to learn more about it. One thing I don't have, however, is a pile of old saws out back for parts. Hum. Maybe in the future!
My dad, would be so delighted by your pile of parts, he used to do the same thing. Many call it hoarding, he said it was investing in future projects 😂
Yes ma’am, plenty of neglect of general maintenance, outright criminal abuse, and or ignorance of proper chain attention practices. Too bad, for a $1500 piece of equipment. It is however, an awesome “testament” to the “PRO” line of Stihl chainsaws. “They take a licking, and keep on ticking”… Great video, Thank you young lady.
I can do a few repairs. I wish I had your talent. I’m 76 woman I get satisfaction in repairing what I can. I’m in pressed how you check out so thoroughly
Great Video! Your old pile out back is what my old boss called a “Healing Pile” 99% of the time what we were working on was worn out, so we would go hunting in the healing pile and usually found a part that was in “ better” shape than what we had. It was a miracle! What did we do with the worn out junk? We threw it on the healing pile of course!
G’day Bree have you thought of getting a shipping container to put all those junked machines into it then no possibility of snakes ect. Love watching you it’s somehow calming I used to have a Stihl great saw look after yourselves kind regards John. PS I never had a decompression on mine it could have done with one.
The “junk pile” or in this case possibly “treasure pile “ I’m with you. The second you get rid of something you’ll need something off of it 😂😂. Glad you didn’t get bit by a snake. Thank you for sharing this video.
9:00 That pile is awesome. Every couple years I go through my shop and try to strip and get rid of parts of my pile that is actual trash. If I didn't do it when I made my deposit into said pile.
A 1/2 drive air impact will easily remove that clutch with sheer speed. Be careful to have it in forward. No piston stop required. One blip and it's off. I've seen 2 broken cranks when turning the wrong way. It is a left-hand thread. Sometimes you need a trick socket to engage the clutch.
My daughter-in-law always had little quips about my junk collection. The other day it saved her for the third time. Now she says, "I see why you keep that stuff now."
I like your pile o’ stuff. I do wish it was out of the weather! Merry Christmas! Next year, put some girly stuff in your Amazon store. Us guys are always trying to find something for wives!
Im so glad you make these kind of videos ! its complete crazyness here in the south you call the supposedly certified sthil dealers and they charge more than the saw cost to do a 15 minute repair and also the prices for the parts are 3 times what it should be. along with trying to get parts when you tell them something so simple like a new spark plug they look at you like you are crazy and they have no clue anymore just to get a simple tune up done! your videos are great!
I had a 140-year-old Red Oak Tree removed last week, the climber had three different size Stihls, all three started on the first pull 99% of the time, after refueling if may have taken 2-3 times to prime it. I was so jealous. They had a huge crane so no "Timber". I missed the final cut removing the trunk because I had an appointment. The climber said he would have to bleach the chain and bar afterward as my tree had that fungus that is going around and killing Red Oaks. Come Summer I'm going to count the rings
Your AR music selection is so spot on and yes I lived down there for almost a decade and half my family is from there. I really never put the music together for your area.
The endoscopes DO make great gifts. I gave one to my buddy when they were on sale. He took a picture of it and sent it to all of his other friends and said, "look what I got." It's the sort of thing that any one person won't need that often but 5 guys will use it all the time.
They always need it a week ago , I have always noticed when things are brought in , they say they take care of there equipment! And every part inside is caked with dirt
You should see my friends lawnmower junkyard....biggun....got 4, 8hp brigs from him over the years for my snapper hi-vac mower.....I traded a Marlin 30-30 for that mower.
My 046 sprocket wouldn't come off with the impact either. I used my grinder on a spare long socket I had to custom DIY and the socket now fits over the whole unit. I was then able to use the ratchett with a long bar and with a little push it came loose. Funny that the impact wouldn't do the job. Same one you are using I tried.
You always do a great job!! Nice catch on the oiler spring!! I wish there were better places around here for small engine repair. I've repaired a couple riders that someone else had been into... Stupid people should not work on other peoples machines. One of them needed a new starter and solenoid. NOT A NEW BATTERY. The other was throttle cable broke so they cobbled up the linkage so it would run at full throttle, and it had water and rubber particles in the carb bowl. I think the rubber stuff came off of the gas cap seal the way it looked. Cleaned all that out of the tank and fuel line and carb. and put a new filter in the line. New fuel and it ran good.
The newness has certainly worn off the adjuster and chain sprocket. New Bumper music at the top. Nice. The newness has apparently also worn off the oiler gear too.
What's the betting line on when that saw returns for it's new oiler arm and air filter? My money says it's right after they burn up two bars and complain about not oiling right...
Oh my gosh, my OCD just kicked heavy looking at that pile of old equipment. Please please make it all neat and sorted out for me so I can avoid medication, lol.
You're definitely a very good chainsaw mechanic!! I personally hate working on chainsaws!! I never can get them to do right!! Keep up the awesome videos!!
Funny how anyone can't get the right parts for the right unit. We bought coils and they weren't right and wife don't like sending stuff back anyways thank you for the video
It never ceases to amaze me the amount of abuse and neglect people subject tools too. All that crud ruins the saws ability to cool and no one ever replacing anything until it quits working. Doin some preventive maintenance saves big money, which is the same as making money. It pays for itself
I can burn out a pro saw in 2 years logging. I could get another 2 years if I rebuild the top-end after 4 years every bolt hole is weak the muffler is shot bearings seals etc.. the saw is pretty much done for and not worth fixing, it becomes a parts saw. I just trade the saws in just before 2 years before the compression drops and get new ones. The saws sit in the back of the truck all the time bouncing around, I don't do much to them other than changing the fuel filter if it ices up and the odd plug. I clean the air filter once a week by tapping it on my boot. I could care less what the saw looks like I care about how it pulls in a cut.
@davidbrennan5 very well said. It's one thing to be a homeowner who keeps their tools in a garage and keeps then in pristine condition breaking them out a couple times a year for pruning or to process a dropped limb vs a person who runs a saw daily to make a living. The pros saw isn't neglected but often looks a bit battered but runs like a champ because its run consistently rather than left to dry rot sitting all year. Lol
@ciphercode2298 I am a toolmaker and I will give you a good example. We buy solid carbide drills. Some of these drills cost easily $1000 each. I will buy this drill and use it for a dozen jobs that earn our company 50k plus. Then toss the drill and buy another. A chainsaw for a commercial operator is just the same. Buy a $1700 500i use it for 2 years and earn 50k a year with the tool. It's paid for itself time and time again. So when you need a new one replace it and carry on. Tools are consumables to many people. Not everyone understands that but it's a fact none the less. When they get old it costs more to fix and maintain them rather than replacing them.
Hi bre...love your attitude and you vids....so i just joined...in a certified Stihl tech in Savannah Georgia....i have a few vids and pics id like to send
I would strongly suggest that you do not use an impact if you are using a solid piston stop! Please inform your followers to use a wrench/ratchet to get it loose using one. I had a brand new piston dimpled by a solid piston stop and an impact trying to get the clutch off on an Echo saw.
I'm thinking they know what's wrong, but they cut trees and have Bree fix the chainsaws. They make money cutting trees, not repairing saws. They let the expert fix them!
Just like the owners of the company I retired from after 32 years of service. They gave me great hope for the future by inadvertently teaching me that it is indeed possible to own a business and be a great success and still not have a freaking clue about what you are doing.
I love how chainsaw manufacturers make that nice "foot hold for starting" handle. Great for relatively small feet in sneakers. Not great for guys wearing work boots, useless in fact.
First. The ms 462 may pull a 36 inch bar however it would struggle. Second, when you pulled the spark plug out, how much garbage was knocked into the cylinder? Should of blowen it off before removing the spark plug.
A 16 minute video, and one throwaway line gets everyone's attention. I don't know if that was an intentional pun or a Freudian slip, but you got our attention!
We do love our Arkansas women.
Visited youtube and thought it had converted to onlyfans 😅
Those Arkansas women get even better when they come to Missouri lol just saying
12:59
In all fairness she’s used that throw away line in other videos.
I certainly feel better after a good air cleaning .
I need one😂
Y'all behave! I bout spit my coffee out though. 😂
YEA, the good old days 😮.
Followed by a “couple strokes”

Cruise flea markets and yard sales.

Mine too. Here's to our Dads . 🍺

Great video,
Thank you young lady.
Amen,my thoughts, poor care for this once great tool😢
Your 'carcass' pile has advanced well beyond 4 level shop shelving. Its been kicked outside due to its advanced growth & footprint 😮 Very admirable.
I can do a few repairs. I wish I had your talent. I’m 76 woman I get satisfaction in repairing what I can. I’m in pressed how you check out so thoroughly

'That's what she said!'
Sounds good

There is trash, junk, and parts piles.
OK, OK, OK, @13:00 She's just trolling me now to see how many times I'm going to keep cleaning of this screen🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just a nano second look at that air filter, told the entire story of the hard life this saw has to live with.
😢, looks like someone doesn't care about their equipment,
I had a 140-year-old Red Oak Tree removed last week, the climber had three different size Stihls, all three started on the first pull 99% of the time, after refueling if may have taken 2-3 times to prime it. That looks like fun pile to me yeah!
I have made my wife aware of my Wish List at your Amazon store!
Living my best La Vida Loca here in southeastern Arizona
the 'Poostihlhusk' pile saves the Day!
TY for Sharing. Merry Christmas

You are amazing! I don’t blame you for keeping items
hope your warm its 13 here in Michigan lol it snuggle weather!!
Looks like some nice rebuilder saws in the pile !
"Ask me how i know"🤣🤣 its Always fun listening you on yours video. I can understand everything u Say....greets from Italy

Love my 461. Makes me smile to hear it sing.
Bree is the absolute best!!! I wish she worked on my small engine equipment.
Thanks!!!
Might want re-phrase air tool use.
I would love to be able to pick through that "reserve pile"!!!
I would be taking many and making 1 .😊
I have a few things to add to it!
The teenager in me chuckles every time you say that💯
Love yer videos!!!! Thanks.
I love those stihl engines Awesome video .

Another great video
Happy Holidays
Nice saw. Looks like it leads a hard life...
I'm finding the deeper you dig on heavy use saws, the more parts need to be serviced.
Thanks Bree.
You're definitely a very good chainsaw mechanic!! I personally hate working on chainsaws!! I never can get them to do right!! Keep up the awesome videos!!
462 is a good saw
You're incredible! I share your affinity for repurposing parts..."waste not, want not."
Thanks a bunch.
Great Technique!
Super genius does it again. Merry Christmas. 🇺🇲
Thanks
Funny how anyone can't get the right parts for the right unit. We bought coils and they weren't right and wife don't like sending stuff back anyways thank you for the video
Another chickanic magic touch
Wow! That saw has had a hard life. The saws you pulled out of the junk pile looked as good or better.
Wish ya'll a Very Merry Christmas 😊❤
Yes, my OCD definitely causes a cringe over that pile. If I lived nearby I'd offer to organize it for free.
Merry Christmas
WOW !!! you're fast....
FYI, the wire is a separate part and can be switched from gear to gear. I have done this with success.
Good job
Hey, that was Kent Rollins' music, lol
I keep brake and or carb cleaner to keep my saw clean
Another great Video, Thanks 😊
Brown recluse spiders are more likely to harm you than snakes are. Both are probably inactive at this time of year in Arkansas, though.
Bre, you do have lots of stuff, it's kind of like wisdom.
Great video, Bre.
would you happen to have a 461 clutch cover in those parts?
That saw was rode hard and put away wet, so to speak. Tore up from the floor up! That`s quite the parts stash you have.
Mind over matter, I love it. There’s no snake there.
It never ceases to amaze me the amount of abuse and neglect people subject tools too. All that crud ruins the saws ability to cool and no one ever replacing anything until it quits working. Doin some preventive maintenance saves big money, which is the same as making money. It pays for itself

Its yalls money, throw it away however ya want. I've gotta think that you're probably like that with your vehicles, homes, and relationships too.

Just wondering why you have to plug the spark plug hole to remove clutch. Thanks
the piston stop locks the motor up so the nut can be removed .. otherwise it would spin away and the nut not come off ..
Man you must really have a lot of affection for those Sthil chainsaws 😂.
Good show as always
I love your boneyard fantastic😊
One thing I think is very sad that I deal with is most people don't take care of their equipment they don't clean it out after they're done using it
Можно было еще и болт закрутить в зубчатый упор😁

Do you recommend old rope as a piston stop?
What would you saw is the maximum bar length for a stihl 044
Great channel. I learn a lot. I never worry about snakes. Yellow jackets and hornets, yeah, I worry.
How could someone be in the commercial tree business and not figure that out with that chain tensioner?
I'm thinking they know what's wrong, but they cut trees and have Bree fix the chainsaws. They make money cutting trees, not repairing saws. They let the expert fix them!

👍
Have a great week
Dang, that saw is used hard!
I saw the sprocket issue (what I was guessing the issue was) I didn't see the missing pin.
Always interesting videos 👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
With all the maintenance performed on that saw, it's got to be FARMER owned.
I love how chainsaw manufacturers make that nice "foot hold for starting" handle. Great for relatively small feet in sneakers. Not great for guys wearing work boots, useless in fact.
There is a pressure release button on top.???
First. The ms 462 may pull a 36 inch bar however it would struggle. Second, when you pulled the spark plug out, how much garbage was knocked into the cylinder? Should of blowen it off before removing the spark plug.
Have you thought about giving classes on simple repairs
