Good review and comparison. I just bought the Neotec 2 this year after extensive research. I find it odd that they added the little "winglets" on the chin bar on the 2, and now have removed them on the 3. They were supposed to have improved aerodynamics and reduce wind noise based on air tunnel testing. Doesn't make sense that they'd be removed in this version.
are theses in the U.S?
I have had the Neotec 2 for two years now and absolutely love it. The only think I don't like about it, is that if go in a full tuck position (on a super sport for example), I am looking at the top of my helmet, causing me to not see anything anymore. It's a real shame they didn't heighten the top of the visor by a couple of milimeter...

@@Inked_CR Hahah close. I started out on an upright adventure bike, but currently ride a sport touring bike. I really enjoy trying out and riding different kinds of bikes as well, so I do occasionally ride super sports too.
@@jaffabaffa I am picking up my first ADV bike next week. im only 27 and have recently just passed my test(5 months). I currently ride an F900xr but i am trading it in for a more mile muncher in the 1200GSA.
@@Inked_CR Nice! I would really want to encourage you to try out the KTM 1290 Super Adventure as well before buying the BMW. The KTM is an absolute blast to ride, and in my humble opinion just as capable but way more exiting than the BMW.

You mention that you don't have a 'Shoei shaped head'....so what shape is that, and does it not matter anymore if changing liners and pads solves the problem?
So Tom has a round head shape from the top view (above looking down at the crown) and Shoei as well as many other brands who supply helmets to Europe and the US cater towards intermediate oval head shapes as it’s the most common head shape in those regions. There’s many pros and cons but it’s always more preferable to go for a helmet that fits your head the best from the get go than to go for a helmet that hasn’t been constructed to suit your head shape. One you’ll save money and two it’ll in theory protect your head better due to being the same shape as your head all around. However, since the Shoei Neotec is undoubtedly one of the top two sport touring modular lids and they do a free pad exchange on brand new helmets it’s worth a shot trying. Hopefully that has helped a little bit
