    I like to use natural light while filming so if the video seems a little dark/vampire-looking then it's bc of the rain that day 🙃

    The first times I was co-washing it was a disaster. I now do exactly everything you said in this video and it makes such a huuuge difference!

    I am fairly new to the CGM ( about 7 months) and the co-wash has been my biggest challenge. My hair always feels weighed down after. I am definitely going to give these tips a try. Thank you for the advice!

      I'm also at my 7 month mark! I hope it works out for you! My hair sometimes feels weighed down after co-washing, but it's never a "greasy mess" like I've heard others describe it. I think because my scalp is dry and my hair is higher porosity then it favors co-washing every now n' then. Overall though, it's not for everyone.
      My biggest challenge has been refreshing lol it's the bane of my hair journey 😂

    I just started co-washing and I’m really enjoying it. I’m using the Aussie Miracle Curls Co-Wash. I Co-Wash on Wednesday and use regular shampoo on Sunday. 👌🏽

    Another great vid! Your hair looks amazing as always. I've been thinking about co-washing recently but didn't know where to start or what to use, so this video came at the right time lol. Would you ever do a sit down and style ( or do skin care/ makeup )with me + chat type of video? ps Thanks for putting a lot of time into your quality vids

      Thank you so much! Co-washing is tricky and tbh not for everyone, but I feel like it gets a bad rep sometimes (especially with wavies lol). And I definitely would like to try collabs in the future! I'm a huge skincare junkie tehe

    Yes, rinsing out a co wash with a 6 gallon water heater with low water pressure with fine high density hair takes forever! Water gets so cold :

    What cowashes do you like and recommend? The only one i like is as i am coconut cowash.

    • @tiffanymcnerlin157
      @tiffanymcnerlin157  3 роки тому +2

      I love the As I Am Coconut Cowash as well! Affordable, easily accessible, and works great. I hear their Itchy Scalp line is nice too so I'd like to try that one next. Another favorite is Wen Cleansing Conditioner. I've been using it for many years and love it, but it does contain amodimethicone (not cg approved if you follow the cgm). Wen is also problematic due to a hair loss issue/scandal so it's not a brand I recommend to everyone. I personally love it and have no issues with it, but it's not for everyone. Plus, it's expensive lol

      No, but I've heard about it and I want to give it a try! I like that they are a brand aiming to be more sustainable. I feel so guilty because my bathroom is filled with plastic bottles.

    Forgive me if you went over this. My daughter has the super curly hair I use to have. She and I both are interested in co washing we picked up aussie co wash with coconut and jojoba. Is this ment to be used in place of shampoo and conditioner? I have googled 100 Deffrent ways but can find nothing that specified it's in place of what use. PLEASE HELP!

    Should/can you do a deep conditioner after a co wash? I’m scared a co wash won’t be enough for my dry scalp and low porosity hair lol

    • @tiffanymcnerlin157
      @tiffanymcnerlin157  3 роки тому +3

      Hey! You can do that, but cowashing and deep conditioner serve different purposes. A cowash should be able to gently cleanse the scalp and hair (main focus should be to remove buildup and oil), whereas a deep conditioner's main purpose is to add nourishment to the hair (not the scalp). Usually deep conditioners are best after you clarify bc that process will slightly dry out the hair. I would just test cowashing by itself at first, and leave it in for a bit. While you're waiting you can squish to condish, which will help your low porosity hair absorb more of the cowash/condition it. Just make sure to scrub your head with the cowash and rinse it off really well so that it doesn't potentially irritate your scalp later on. Hope this helps ☺️

    Can I cowash my hair everyday I have wavy hair lol. I really like the kms cleansing conditioner

    • @tiffanymcnerlin157
      @tiffanymcnerlin157  3 роки тому

      Hey! I don't think it's recommended to wash with a co-wash everyday, but if you do then just keep an eye on how your hair feels after each wash. If my hair is feeling like it needs a good conditioning then I'll co-wash. Some people will even alternate between a low poo and a co-wash so that way they won't become over moisturized.

    Hi Tiffany, how do you style your hair after co washing to get those amazing curls??

    • @tiffanymcnerlin157
      @tiffanymcnerlin157  3 роки тому +2

      Hey, Victoria! After I wash my hair, I'll typically apply leave-in/products that have slip and brush through with a Denman to distribute product (upright, wet-ish hair). Then I'll apply a gel, wet plop, and then dry plop with a cotton shirt. Diffuse low heat/low speed. I test a lot of techniques so my styling process is always changing lol but if you tend to style upside-down then I highly recommend the Bowl Method!
