Thanks so much for the video, single dad and my 7 year old had a 1st grade performance. I've never done anything with her hair other than braids or a ponytail. She wanted long curls. 😪 This worked fantastic, when we took it down in the morning and fluffed it she was so happy and it looked great. Much love, Kris

I am a 32 year old woman and this technique has honestly changed my life. I have super thick long hair that takes an hour to curl with a wand. This takes 5-10 minutes, turns out way better, healthier for hair, and lasts 2-3 days between washes. Incredible! I wish I knew about this 15 years ago.

This is literally the best heatless hair curling tutorial out there!!! It’s so easy, so comfortable, and doesn’t have that “heatless” curled look (some of the curls looking wonky, frizziness, certain parts not being curled at all, etc. anyone who’s tried other tutorials knows what I mean) and it’s so reliable!!! I always know the result that I’m going to get and it’s always so uniform and lovely, not to mention you can customize how big the curls are to get different looks!!! This is one of the few methods I’ve tried that still looks good on shorter hair as well. Your method in particular I found I like a lot better than the original one-way wrap. Thank you!!! ♥️

My hair is super fine and has quite a bit of wave of its own and I'm a very wild sleeper so usually when I try stuff like this it ends up a frizzy mess and gets unraveled half way through the night but this worked beautifully, thank you! :) I'm definitely gonna do this more often

Just a little too for anyone wanting to do this:
If you want them to stay longer like a lot longer do this after you shower your hair or you make your hair wet/damp. Since it's wet and will dry in this shape it stays like that super long. I usually do my hair similar to that and with the water it stays for days, no joke. It can stay for like three four days.

I just do two rope braids with my hair, no robe belt etc, with damp hair and it comes out like this and lasts for a good four days. I have naturally wavy hair/ some ringlets, so for me holds without spray for days even with me combing it out a bit each day.

I couldn't be happier with the result. Thank you for this video! I'm mid-30's and love the look of my hair curly, but I've never owned a curling iron. I'm too afraid to burn myself or damage my hair with heat (especially now in my 30's as my hair is no longer as thick as it used to be, and I don't want to lose any!). My thoughts/lessons learned:
I did this method with my hair damp (using a bottle sprayer to keep it damp as I worked). I found that damp hair was easier to manage. My hair is about 3" longer than shoulder length, so not nearly as long as Shonagh's. I wasn't able to get the robe tails to do what hers did, but I found my own way to secure them. I want to get one of those silk night caps to wear over this next time for sleeping on it. I also do want to get small elastics to tie off the tails (I used my normal hair ties and that wasn't ideal).
For my hair, I wanted pretty tight curls, so I opted to do way smaller sections at a time and that worked really well. Be careful to do the same size sections on both the left and right of your head, otherwise you might be able to notice a difference in curl size when it's let loose.
I made the (slight) mistake of spraying hairspray on it for hold, and definitely overdid it so that weighed down my volume a little and made it feel (IMO) just a little crunchy-looking. I would like to try this with some sort of leave-in next time instead. If you do opt for hairspray, go slow with application and just do it lightly.
Overall, 100% impressed and felt so glam with this for an event I just attended. :)

    A few additional points:
    * STRAIGHT HAIR GIRLS: for extra hold, you can try a setting lotion by L’Oréal called Pli (not sponsored - just worth sharing). The lotion acts as a memory for your hair, spritz it onto damp towel-dried hair and add a little heat from the hairdryer once wrapped to activate - it’ll hold A LOT longer: bit.ly/2LxqTcQ
I’ve added extra links in the description too.
** The robe tie is from a bathrobe/dressing gown.
*** Your hair can be damp OR dry, mine looked dry but felt cool so I knew it wasn't 100% dry.
I don't wrap it when my hair is visually damp because the curls become too tight.
**** Freshly washed hair is ideal BUT you can do this is on second-day hair for a soft curl.
***** If you’re in a rush, try using one of these hair dryer hoods AFTER you’ve wrapped your hair. It’ll be dry and curled within 15/20 minutes:

    US - Amazon: amzn.to/3MCb6IY

I used a scarf and it worked perfectly. I still need to perfect the curls so they go all the way up to my crown. I washed my hair and then dried everything around my head with my blow dryer (so I don't catch a cold😏). The rest of my hair I left the way it was so when I started this technique, 1/2 to 2/3 of my hair was damp. I am tempted to say it curls better with the damp hair. My hair gets frizzy easily, especially with heatless curling techniques, but with this one, there is hardly any frizz.

Yay, glad you gave it a try! My only advise being as your hair is thick, make sure it’s BONE DRY before you remove the wrap or it’ll fall flat. Stick your fingers between the sections to feel the hair inside, if it’s cold then it’s still going to be a bit damp. It needs to complete dry in order to be successful and hold.

The results are amazing! I've done it myself several times, some smaller, some larger sections and the results are great every time. One tip though, when I sprayed my hair with a stay in conditioner before wrapping, the hair moved much more freely when taken down, and less frizz. I'm sure that would differ for each person, depending on hair type.

Thank you so much for sharing this, I’ve looked for so many videos, and they all use product and heat which damages the hair, it takes ages to do and who has time for that.
Your tutorial is the easiest and healthiest and like a cherry on top of the cake - it also looks the very best ❤❤❤❤ trying this tonight ❤️❤️❤️thank you 🎉

Deniz Karagüllü my hair is medium, not thick or thin, but curls stay well in my hair. the curls loosen over the day, but i’d say it’s good for one day if you do it with dry hair, but if you do it with wet hair, i’d say you could get 2 days out of it, which is ideal for me bc i wash my hair every other day. if you dampen your hair, you can get one good day out of it for sure as long as you do it tight

I cannot wait to try this. I’ve just gotten extensions and have been doing a plane braid on each side at night. One night I braided it dry and realized it wouldn’t set very well so I spritzed the braids with water and it turned out beautiful the next morning, but it’s beachy waves. Tonight I tried it by spritzing my hair all over with water first to dampen it as there were some less wavy sections from last nights braids since the water didn’t get to all the hair. I also started higher on my head for some more volume. And then Of course I found THIS video while I was finishing up my last braid and had already washed my face and was ready for bed. Can’t wait to try this tomorrow night, maybe tomorrow afternoon as I’m going out tomorrow evening and I have no idea how long it might take to curl these new extensions. Thank you so much for this tutorial.

Before that, I saw a lot of videos, but nowhere did I twist the strands, that's right, cross to cross. My straight hair stays wavy for a long time even in wet weather and snowfall. In addition, I did curls at night and the whole structure held tight and did not unwind. Thank you! This is the best tutorial on youtube
