You know, these types of tiny computers are just fascinating. I have no real reason to get one, and I don't know what I'd do with one, but they're just so interesting to me. I just already have other devices (like the Nvidia Shield, Xbox and Switch, full PC) to fill any random need I'd come across, but if a friend ever needed something small and similar, I'd definitely go for these types of systems.

It's awesome to see how APU's keep evolving. This is a far cry from my A6-3620 that impressed me by running Portal 2 and HL2 at 720/60 back in 2013.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how the next Switch turns out.

This slightly less performance is because of the memory timing's. They are so high on sodimm ram's. You can try to tight the timing's and use 1.3 or 1.35 volt on them. I like to see that results and as always prefect review 😍😃👍🏻

If the bios settings offer all OC options, you can easily lower the Vcore of the APU and thus lower the temperatures of the APU while maintaining the same performance, or if desired, increase the performance of the APU and keep the temperature the same through undervolting. I think this makes a lot of sense, especially with mini pc, because they always have a bit of a struggle with the heat dissipation due to their design. greets from germany

Not that I'd use it like this, but these should probably come with thunderbolt for either serving high-speed storage (like a high-end NAS) or an eGPU for gaming.
I guess personally I would use one as a Linux TV unit that streams my PC games from a Windows desktop elsewhere in the house. That way it could play the lower end locally, and stream the rest.

It's a nice little "gaming" PC, but it doesn't quite have the GPU grunt of even a PS4 Slim so you'll be playing most modern games at low/medium settings between 720p to 1080p depending on the framerates you're targeting. Older games might be able to run on higher settings. The CPU is really good though so this might make for a decent little portable rendering station.

All good until I went to Asrock website and saw "non-ECC" memory support only.
They're generally very good about support ECC memory (unbuffered of course) on their AM4 motherboards, but for some reason, that support never extends to their specialty units like DeskMini and Jupiter. I'm guessing it's their way of doing market segmentation, to avoid these consumer products colliding with their Industrial products (asrockind)..
