This is the GOAT of all stories. But behind the sardonic humor is the great craft that went into putting it together. The consistency of the POV is right up there with the great writers. It is 100% from Jason Terry's POV. Everyone else exist as bit parts in his personal nightmare. And, as you point out, the harder he worked, the more he worked himself into the cold clutches of fate. I'm from Miami, and just a little background for you all. Jason Terry was talking so much trash in this series and in the series a year before on the Mavs that this was a justified murder. lol
