This looks so beautiful and peaceful. I think it’s “the one” if we’re ever allowed back in to NZ. (Pls excuse if I commented twice, dunno what I did with the first one). 🤭
The track from the Gentle Annie to Totara flats is down an old creek bed. Quite steep and unpleasant in the wet. It’s fine going down but coming up it is a bit of a slog. It took about 4 hours from the car park to the hut. Plus breaks. But we weren’t in any rush.
You really captured the tramp well! Very excited for the next adventure! Thanks to your lovely wife for the cold OJ and warm towel!
I just got in trouble for not publicly thanking her - it’s a good thing you did! Thanks for coming along. You helped film a lot of this!

It was a lovely walk. Challenging but relaxing too.
Thanks Graeme. Have never done this tramp before, so great to get an overview of the trail. That Ongaonga can be nasty stuff.
No worries at all! It’s a good one without much in the way of alpine views. I’m tempted to incorporate it into the southern crossing some time.
So what's the track like from the gentle Annie to totara flats hut? How long did it take?

This hike was awesome - have you done it?
