One things for sure. We the... Starborn, savior of New Atlantis from the Terramorphs, the finder of kryx's legacy, free star ranger who killed chairman hope, the new mantis, and best operative of Ryujin industries will also be the first person since the founder of Va'ruun to make contact with the great serpent. Bethesda's writing is a science at this point.

@@abraaomitichon7868 I don't want to be the brand new Vanguard who quickly rises through the ranks after one mission and becomes the savior of the UC and working directly with the counsel to destroy the Terramorphs and bring down a secret plot to destroy human colonies across the settled system whilst at the same time being the free star ranger rookie who brought down Ron Hope and his secret plot to destroy kill off all the farmers. It doesn't have to be radiant, it needs to be grounded and not make us the lone hero of every story. Like why are we the diplomat who has to bring free star, Va'ruun, and the UC together to stop the Terramorphs when we are just a vanguard who's there to help the Red Devils fight the Terramorphs. Does the UC not have diplomats who should be in the background doing that? That's why the game is already so radiant, we are the only ones who deliver messages, saving the galaxy, and doing all the work while it seems no body else does anything except tell you where to go and what to do.
@@abraaomitichon7868 part of this problem is how outdated Bethesda's writing is. We couldn't have fun and interesting quests where we just tag along on a mission, like in RDR or Cyberpunk where maybe someone from our outpost comes up to us and says "hey, there's a few Va'ruun zealots hiding out, let's go and take there stuff!" And you follow them (pace and all) and they guide the story rather than you.

Thanks for making content! Great video. Nice to see lore deep dives for starfield! Also! We do know what the name of the system is, but I don’t remember. It was shown at gamescon.
Still think it's one of the craziest oversights that Andreja still comments that you can't be together in the afterlife because you don't worship the great serpent... when you have the trait for worshipping the great serpent....
@jasonruth7414 I think someone commented that the people of house Va'ruun see all outsiders as unworthy of their afterlife, even if they practice the faith. You basically have to be born into house Va'ruun and be one of the "chosen" to actually be one of them. For example, even if you use the perk as a speech check with Zealots, they comment that you're still an "outsider" and will only let you live out of respect for the serpent
It's unfortunate, especially as there are so few moments where it comes up that Andreja repeatedly "forgetting" that you also worship the Great Serpent (both during her quest and during her romance scene) are incredibly grating. You can't even discuss it when characters try to engage you in religious conversations about what you believe in.
I really liked some elements of starfield, the human lore is good, but It's obvious that we need the introduction of a alien civilization, i really want the great serpent being this introduction.
I think this is a good idea, Personally however I'd rather see starfield expand on the robots and introduce pilot-able mechs left over from the colony war, which there are already models for in game. Aswell as a new faction made up entirely of robots and their own lore, such as; VECTIS, a twin AI of JUNE, is abandoned on earth as it became uninhabitable and eventually builds a body for itself out of spare parts and sets off across the stars gathering other robots to it side where after a few hundred years, members of constellation run into them on the quest to solve cosmic mysteries. Also the ability to upgrade and customise the companion Vasco would be incredible.
I believe that Varuun has more advanced grav drives than the rest of the settled systems, and the reason why their home system is hidden is because it's accessed through a grav-space anomaly, putting it in it's own weird pocket dimension.
With the mod Faction Backgrounds, Faction Outpost Guards and Faction Ships by IDontLikeNexus for PC and Xbox. You can start out as a Va'ruun Zealot in your background and will be given a Va'ruun weapon and spacesuit. Then the player can buy a Va'ruun ship in new atlantis. The mod also gives the player an outpost beacon that will bring other Va'ruun npcs to your outpost that you can recruit. All Va'ruun will also no longer be hostile to the player unless the player fires apon them.
The inevitable prospect of purchasing a decade of drip-fed Starfield DLCs from Bethesda for $20 keeps me hopeful for the future. Looking forward to seeing this game when it's finally finished 👍
Bethesda has always said that the Va'ruun homeworld is "hidden". What I want answered is, "hidden" how? How can an entire star system be "hidden" What's hiding it? Words matter. If it winds up they didn't really mean it was "hidden", that it's something else entirely, then they never should have used that word to begin with.
I believe that House Va’ruun have never revealed the coordinates of their home world, even to most of their own people (especially those who have left their home system behind). I’m fairly certain this is what they mean by hidden. The farther you get from the heart of the Settled Systems, systems are less and less explored
Avoiding spoilers but; perhaps it has something to do with grav drive experiments, like that story mission later on in the main quest, because clearly there are parts of technology humanity doesn't understand
Ok. So Va'runn'kai is not "hidden" or being "concealed". We just don't know where it is. The location is "unknown". Would have saved everyone a lot of time looking for it if they had just said that.
I'm hoping in a game with an engine that can support 1000 planets we can finally get a city space/population center that's somewhat believable. I'm not expecting what Star Citizen promises but even along the lines of Night City in scale would be revolutionary in a Bethesda game. Let's not forget Whiterun alone should be larger than the entirety of the Skyrim map. I've wanted Bethesda to break away from this extreme scale down since Morrowind.
New Atlantis is criminally small for a city that was effectively the refugee camp for all of humanity. It also should be surrounded by farms and have industrial districts, or if they wanted to keep industrial areas out of the capital itself, a rail line to a massive industrial area.
@@IrresoluteCartographer I don't know if you remember Arena and Daggerfall but Bethesda used to know the way. Takes 69 hours to walk across Dagerfalls map.
I don't understand players that want huge cities. It's boring and pointless since 95% of the NPCs are useless. Game developers have limited time and should focus on good gameplay, stories or characters.
