- My 2009 Scion xB recently passed 300,000 miles. It's had minimal issues over the years, mostly just having to replace the consumables like brakes, tires and batteries. It still has its original exhaust and clutch.

I have the same Scion with same color but automatic. Approx 192k on odo. Was burning lots of oil but Ive done 3 piston soaks now and changed oil sooner in between those soaks and so far almost 1800 miles since last piston soak and oil change and not a drop of oil burned. Such a reliable vehicle. Easy to get in an out of and the roomy interior is fantastic. Love the looks and comfort. Would love to get another one. Sad they stopped making these. Ive heard of these going over 400k with proper maintenance with minimal repairs. Great vehicle! Thanks for your videos!!
Wow that’s awesome Keith 👏 hope you get a 100 thousand more 👍
Just broke 120k on my 2014 xb. “Bought it January 2022 w 106k” with in my 1 year of ownership I’ve replace the driver side axel and the drive side sun visor. Next on the list is the valve cover gasket. Other than that it’s a solid car!
👍👍👍. My 09 xb has 240k miles. Also got a 05 corolla with 280k miles. Thanks for the vlog
Wow, that’s awesome. Congrats!
I have a Scion with 170,0000 miles on it and l was wondering about the longevity which actually sounds pretty good...l take care of my car maintenance, oil changes, ect
Never had a Scion but had many Toyotas and most had 200,000km before trading them in. Our 2006 4Runner had over 350,000 km before we traded it after over 11 years. Still got $10,000 for it. Hard to go wrong with them.
Absolutely, hard to beat Toyota reliability!
Keep the car, don't sell or get rid of. It can go to 500K miles and beyond.
My xB is still running as good as ever. The only issue has been the front door locks going out and some remote issues. Other than that it's been fantastic and incredibly reliable! I can hyper mile up to about 34 mpg with little traffic or stop lights.
Automati mine since new love it 78000 miles on it always kept lease . I love mine it just has enough room if you have to put three four people in it was designed excellent inside Parts last forever knock on wood still got the original alternator change three batteries brakes were done once tires three times the tires are a little expensive they could have went with a smaller type tire but it grips the road well has a lot of Pep off the lights and get you on the highway long rides not too bad 75 mph it's a little squirrely on those roads because it's light but I rate it at 9.5 I love mine and it's our second car and I'll keep it to it blows up and falls apart great car did my belt too
I have a 2012 9.0 RS Scion xB no oil consumption issues. 134k I'm blessed to have it.
how often do you change the oil
Do you have any of the oil consumption (oil burning issues) that these engines are known for?
2.4L Is clutch still good? What mileage is it at now? Keep us updated!
Thats nuts, Keith. How do you log 23,000 miles a year on the Scion with the 2 Yamahas and a pick up truck as well?
I have a long commute Tyler! It’s 90 miles now.
I own a 2015 how did u deal with the oil loss during thirty 5000 miles I have a 2015 with 50k miles scion xb
2015 should have no oil consumption issues. That was from 2008-2011
I've got an '09 Auto in the same Hypnotic Teal Mika
292k and counting
Had 2xbs years ago thinking about getting one as a beater daily high mileage scarez me looking at one with 177k
How is the body and rust bubbles what about under body is there alot of rust
I'm just starting to get some rust through on the passenger rocker that I need to address. The underneath is not that bad. It's been garaged since new and I have a truck I drive in the real wintry weather.
What year is your Scion xB
2009
I have a 2011 with 80k on it only , I looked at the newer Toyota thinking of a trade in , but decided not to after seeing all the plastic they put in the engine these days , not to mention the money they wanted , I am going to keep mine to 300k as well then invest all the money saved in S&P index , the XB is going to retire with me ' )
Do you still have it?
Yes, 335,000 miles
😂😂😂😂😂 that's awesome! I just bought a 2014 with 113,000 miles and it's a blast to drive!!
Any oil consumption issues?
It does. He mentions it in other videos. Some Do. Some Don’t. My 15 isn’t prone to the problem. They seemed to get it together in 2013. Even though many just add oil.
I think that’s the 2.4L engine. Did they all have the 2.4? I’m not sure.
@@ExpeditionaryRanger all did. There was a piston design flaw in some. It mainly impacted 08-2012. Mostly early models. There was a campaign to put new pistons and lifters if your XB consumed oil excessively. 10 yrs/150k.
@@djkenny1202 My '13 hasn't had the problem yet, but I'm strict...6 months or 5,000 miles.
@@bobfeller604 I’ve been changing mine about yearly, it takes me that long to get over 4500 miles. I’m considering 9-10 months. But the oil testers (forget the name) told me they have never seen oil lose it’s ability to protect in a few years, just miles. So many chemicals in oils these days.
Are you gonna talk about more elf on the shelf
Very sad to say but a Fwd '13-18 Rav4 is a more efficient vehicle with its 2.5l and its 6-speed trany.
Automatic transmission .. ewww
