Alem Cehajic pretty good? wait until the 4 cyl turbo entry level 2.0t 275 hp in the G70 and the same engine as this as the mid level...then the V8 will be an option to face the M3....450 hp 5.0 V8 with awd....the chassis is based off the stinger but will be 300 plus pounds lighter. im hearing 4.4 seconds 0-60 from the 3.3T so imagine what the V8 will do....
Lane Keep Assist will not stay active if you remove your hands from the steering wheel for over 3 seconds. This is how they prevent drivers from thinking they own a self-driving car... But for those first few seconds, it's pretty damn cool to experience. And even when you have your hands on the wheel, feeling a computer make steering corrections for you is something else...
It's actually 15 seconds 3 seconds would not be beneficial at all but 15 seconds allows you to reach in back and beat the kids without pulling over.... I mean open you bottled soft drink safely.
It's supposed to be in the same class with them whereas the upcoming Genesis G70 competes with the Audi A4, BMW 3 series, Lexus IS, Mercedes C-class, etc.
Monsieur Africain looks and drive better than those cars and I'm a BMW fan. Is not just the look , the driving experience is unique and luxury feel to it. Not fake racing cars
I saw one in person and they are super beautiful cars! My mom got a new car at Hyundai she got the 2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport and we walked out of the door for $16k after 6k down payment and rebates!

Amir its not a latch. its a inset spring loaded one like on the mercedes E class. thats why that happened. these are very far from low class. these are more well built than bmw or mercedes. all the experts are saying that. JD power ranks them tied for first with lexus.
Great thorough review. I'm deciding between the 2018 Genesis and the 2017 Audi A7. The Genesis gets a newer year, even 2019 at some places sport for same price as 2017 A7. The Genesis also has more features. Im leaning toward the Genesis for sure after this video.

Love my 2015 Genesis 5.0Liter Ultimate. The 2018 Genesis G80 3.3L twin turbo looks great, but I still love my 2015 5.0L. Bought my 2015 Genesis at Parkway Genesis, along with a new Hyundai 2.0T Sport for my wife. GREAT Dealership, period. Type of dealership where you are not afraid on taking your car in for service. Nice review of the 2018 G80 Genesis, its essentially there same (very nice) as the 2015 Genesis Ultimate. Again, really a nice dealership with Don Lathem's crew makes sure everyones needs are taken care of in a very fair and professional manner.
Gorgeous vehicle interior and exterior. I have just purchased a 2017 G90 5.0 Htrac love everything about it. I owned a 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 for 6 years, I loved driving it everywhere, everyday. Reliability is a 10. The only car getting next to the Genesis brand is Lexus. Forget a BMW, Mercedes Benz, or Audi the Reliability is not even close when it comes to Genesis.
there are many cars that i find beautiful like mini cooper, fiat 500, kia optima etc...everytime i see them i wish they are toyotas...i only buy toyotas because of reliability

I’ve owned mine for 3yrs now and learned a few features, Mike did a better job than the Genesis dealer rep I bought mine from! He must have had the under carriage shroud removed for the opening Scorsese like shot to expose everything. Love this car except for the wonky Transmission.
Great video and review. I have a '13 Genesis sedan and am considering upgrading. Really wish the rear seats folded down; they need to get with the times on that. This car also could really use a lip spoiler on the trunk, looks really bare without it. I have seen some aftermarket ones.

Jordan Lalonde no its not. you dont know what your talking about. thats tge ignorance people keep saying and thats how hyundai has caught up and is now beating on the competition. i am german myself and the G80 sport is far superior to the 535i x drive. i can describe how if you want. its not a hyundai. the shell is the same as the genesis but even a 2015 i tested that car had zero noise coming from the outside anywhere even at 100mph. no 5 series can compete with that. thats called build quality. these cars are incredible. you need to drive one.
That copper/rose colored front grill reminds me of the 1990’s gold packages. That’s the only issue I have with the car. When you see it in person, it really looks odd on several of the car colors. The more I looked at it, the less I liked it. I realize they are attempting to separate this version from the regular G80, though that front copper isn’t going to look good over time. Heck, it doesn’t look good now.
I see a lot of features in and on this vehicle that my 2018 BMW 540i xDrive has. Did BMW sell them their older model designs? Too many similarities for me to think Hyundai came up with the design and features on their own. None the less, it’s a sweet ride.
Excellent review ! Thank you :) Very well appointed car with a couple of things that need improvement. Once again they failed to put something so basic as fog lights on a car costing over $55k. Secondly the new shifter is a lame duck with no manual shift capability..in what's supposed to be the sporty version of the G80. Great car overall :)
Heewon Yoon Paddle shifters are okay but don't feel as responsive. I much prefer usingt the +/- on the shift lever which is a mechanical linkage vs. electronic on the paddles, or at least it was until this year.
With daytime running lights led and the projection led headlights the fog light is not needed. The air flow to the turbo powered engine much more necessary than an un-needed fog lamp assembly. The shifter is all electronic now. In sport mode this transmission is nearly flawless for quick launches and over time learns your driving style it's quite remarkable. The paddle shifters are fairly responsive. This car is really not a sport car it is a luxury car with some sport styling and improved performance acceleration handling braking.
Same engine and transmission as the Kia Stinger GT, and a base model G80 3.3t is only a few thousand more than a Stinger GT2, would this be a better buy than the Stinger?

The exhaust is heard in this video both idling, revving, and accelerating 0-60+. As far as see it cornering... Like a sharp curve in the road? From the driver's seat or from outside the car?
I guess I'm looking for a higher budget, News magazine type full critique of the new model of this car. I have the '15 Genesis 3.8 Ultimate in the same White/black as your tester, so what I'm looking for is what's different from my car. This car has been stateside long enough for it would seem, somebody to do a critique of it's performance aspects. Yes, I wanted to see the car from the outside rather than the driver's seat. Wanted to see it accelerating off the line, and hear the exhaust from outside the vehicle. Admittedly, what I'm looking for is a 'Car & Driver", "Motor Trend" or "Motorweek" type review, I guess. I believe Hyundai/Kia quality and satisfaction ratings are in the top 5 of all cars sold in the US. And kia just won JDPowers initial quality ratings 2 yrs in a row. I think that along with their 10 yr warranty, which they honor and which hasn't bankrupted the companies, speaks volumes about their quality. This is a beautiful car, me thinks, and comes fully loaded at a bargain price for a midsize luxury car. I saw a new Audi A4 4 cylinder turbo with a sticker of $56K! Almost what I paid for my Mercedes E350 a few yrs ago. Also saw a new Audi A3 with a sticker over 46K! Crazy frickin' prices for small to midsize cars with tons of vw parts.

D K K I know but the Chrysler badge is way different. It's a huge cheap looking wing kinda looks smashed the genesis swing looks more like the Bentley to me.
I fvckin hate the interior and the old looking cluster gauge module! The looks of the exterior doesn't quite match the dull classic esthetics interior and the tail light should've been more fluidity with sharp feature. Bring the looks of that 2018 genesis coup into four door which i really like. The coup's awesome!!!

One feature I haven't seen mentioned in reviews is the Genesis logo that lights up on the ground at night from the side mirrors.

I think it's because the Mercedes produced in a country, in which the workers payment is higher than the country, where the Genesis is produced.

The looks of the exterior doesn't quite match the dull classic esthetics interior and the tail light should've been more fluidity with sharp feature. Bring the looks of that 2018 genesis coup into four door which i really like. The coup's awesome!!!

love the vehicle but its the fastest depreciating luxury vehicle on the road so stupid to buy it new. Great vehicle to pick up with 15,000 miles or so.
Not stupid to buy new. Of course it helps to know the owner because some vehicles are traded in looking like this even with 15k miles on them:
