  • Wig making step one: To make your own wig, head measurements and a plastic wrap are taken and transferred onto a wig block to create a replica of the artists head. This is used to make your full lace wig foundation. This is the first stage of the wig making process.

I always braid it straight back in 6 to 12 braids. When you are dealing with fluffy curly hair....pin curls won't work.

I started using plastic bags, instead of wrap, because it's already a closed shape. The ones in the produce section are plenty big...you just shake out the last of the broccoli bits, slit one side open, about three quarters of the way, so you can breathe, and tape away! I like to put tape over the Sharpie lines, too, so they don't smudge, or transfer to the base!

Plastic bags would work a treat. A bit like a rain hat you can get that the old ladies wear. As long as that head shape and hairline is obtained. Not sure what we are all going to do when plastics are banned eventually. Back to the old school ways before plastic made things easier I guess.

I really enjoyed your video! I am new to making wigs and wanted to know what measurements did you take and wherein the process of making the wig do you use them? Thanks again for professional skills and knowledge with us!

Another brilliant video. I sometimes like to use the off-white scotch tape instead of just the ordinary sticky tape - is my method just as good? 😎🙂

Will Campbell hey if it works. I use the cheapest tape I can find as it has more stretchy than the more expensive ones x

Why did you measure from the occipital to the nape?

    • @WAMStudio

sorry I just seen this message. The occipital bone is where the spin attaches to skull. Basically where the head bends at the next.
