    I'd love to see an in-depth video on how to make the foundation. We learn a different method in school but I would love to make another one using this method.

    Hello, thank you for your video's I really love them. Often I see a PU rubber kind of material on the edge of a wig or hairpiece. Do you know this product and where I can buy this. Will you make a video of how to aply this. Lots of love from Amsterdam.

    • @WAMStudio
      @WAMStudio  4 роки тому

      Sylvia Bruens you can apply many materials inside the wig to stop slip or cover rough edges or the PU patches usually go where toupee tape is stuck to prevent it damaging knots. thewigdepartment.com is a great place to get everything from

    I’m just discovering your channel. What is that black & gold thing you’re using on the lace?

    • @WAMStudio
      @WAMStudio  3 роки тому

      I think you are referring to the circumference ribbon. I use it to mark out the circumference and when padding it helps to not stretch out the wrap.

    May I ask you witch foundation material is best to use for the main body, nape and the front around hairline? I want to make my first full lace wig and I want to make sure I use the right foundation as there's so many of them. It's important to me that it's strong and wig won't break everytime I wash and blow dry it. And the front around hairline is important to me to be as natural looking possible. What do you suggest? Thank you!

    • @WAMStudio
      @WAMStudio  6 років тому

      Mantas Siauciunas I use terylene net for the main body and 40 denier for front but the front is for theatre. Finer net is advisable for street wear although it’s not as strong. 20 denier is fine but not hard wearing but will disappear into forehead 😊

    This is a great video, very helpful thanks. I would just like to check, when you are folding your seams are you folding onto the top of the foundation or do you tuck underneath? It’s quite hard to tell as its s fast.

    • @WAMStudio

    I've never heard of a cotton line...is it a border? Does it keep the lace from distorting? My introduction to wigmaking was over the phone, from a friend, who was a wigmaker from San Francisco Opera, but eventually wound up at the Met. Since l had no points, he suggested staples..."put the lace on the block, and pull the shit out of it!"! That was almost forty years ago!

    • @WAMStudio
      @WAMStudio  4 роки тому

      The cotton line is just to mark out the front hairline if you are sending it out to a knotter/ ventilator. No need for it if you are knotting yourself on the block. Staple gun? That sounds scary but if it works for you and the wig looks fabulous then why not.

    Does the tensión band design give a snugger fit?

    • @WAMStudio
      @WAMStudio  6 років тому

      Mike Love it is all down to preference. It’s just a style of Wig foundation. Any foundation made as long as it fits right is good. I would say this style is a finer finish than some 😊

    this was very helpful! Quick question, if you are using a lace nape would you still bulk knot on this section?

    • @WAMStudio
      @WAMStudio  6 років тому +2

      Gemma Allen bulk knot? I do single hairs around the edge then pull more hair through per holes as I work up. Singles every hole on edge, then 2 hairs and then 3/4 and space out more as I go up. Hope that makes sense 😊

    your tension band section/area is nice and flat. I'm ending up with way too much excess which would require darting unlike yours. Grrrr.

    • @WAMStudio
      @WAMStudio  7 років тому

      mamborena hey don’t worry it depends on Head shape and size. No darts on this one but others I do still need darts so it’s all good you aren’t doing anything wrong 😊
