He’s using a technique called whipping. It’s when you sew using your ventilation needle. When you see this technique used you know you’re dealing with a true master wig maker.
thank you so much. I've been waiting for this video since the full cap construction one you did. I had to slow that one down to get the steps correct. with this video it helps reinforce what I thought I saw in the other. I notice the seams look different where you attach the fronting lace. do you plan to show that also? thanks again
ashley b yes the front is a flat seam and that is my next video. The flat seam means a thinner fold which is easier to hide when knotting a fine front. You can use a folded seam at the front for a stronger attachment but the flat seam is still strong if done correctly and allows for softer hair knotting at the front 😊
Alex Carmon I usually make full wigs but a frontal is very much like the front section of a wig just knotted on lace usually 11x4 inches and a closure is a like a mini toupee 😊
Hi Philip! Absolutely love your videos and I'm hoping to do one of your courses next year! I've noticed on instagram you have been making some 'seamless' caps, what does this mean please, is this the 'flat seams' you mention in this video? I'm getting myself confused.. thank you!
Fiona Claire hey thank you and glad you enjoy the videos and you would be most welcome at my studio. The seamless napes on my Instagram are basically no folds or darts at the nape. It's called a seamless nape foundation as it doesn't have any darts/ seams on nape band. If you look at my other foundations on the page you will see the folds on the others. Hope that makes sense 😊😊😊
WAM Studio Ahh yes that makes sense now, thank you so much! The courses look fantastic, in awe of the work your students produce after just a few days!
Hi, love watching the time lapse videos but can you show some real time of how you stitch, or the different stitches you use. Doesn't need to be very long just maybe on the end or beginning of you usual video. Thank you shikira.
Shikira Laslo do you mean real time of the whipping with the clear thread? My next video is going to cover a flat seam so you got it 😊 I will make sure I do a brief explanation of the whipping. Look out for it in a couple of weeks and thanks for the suggestion. Glad you like my videos
Hi. Are you ventilating thread as if it were hair in order to connect the pieces?

Fiona Claire the students get step by step close training and they produce amazing stuff. I am always very impressed with each and every one of them 😍
