- Wrenbury to Whitchurch on the Llangollen Canal by Narrowboat
Join us on our Narrowboat Dunworkin as we continuously cruise the Inland waterways of England and Wales. Living Off Grid.
We’ve been moored at Wrenbury for five days so its time to move on. We pass through 3 lift bridges and enter some remote and peaceful countryside. It’s not long before we reach the village of Marbury and Marbury Lock where there is a lovely little lock cottage. The canal continues through open countryside and a couple of isolated locks before we approach the 6 Grindley Locks. The first three single locks have a rise of 19ft ( about 5.8 m) and the top three are a single staircase lock giving a further rise of 19ft 11 inches (about 6.1 m). After using the boaters services we continue our journey to Whitchurch and moor just after the New Mills lift bridge.

Hi Eileen and Pat, just thought I’d let you know how much I enjoyed taking the cruise with you to Wrenbury Marbury and Whitchurch. In fact had I not been in lockdown home here in France I would have been staying with friends in Wrenbury at this time. Some good pubs in the area Dusty Miller and Cotton Arms in Wrenbury and the Swan Inn in Marbury great eating house, alas though I guess they are closed currently due to the pandemic and your own lockdown now there in the U.K. I always enjoy your videos and appreciate the hard work you put into the production. Take care, stay safe and healthy. Regards, Barry
Hello Barry, what a shame you have had to miss out on your holiday, still many are in the same boat sadly! Unfortunately the pubs as you say are now closed. So glad you’re enjoying the vlogs, thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Lovely amusing vlog, as ever. We hope you two are well and coping with lock down again. Xxxx

We moored in the same spot as you in Whitchurch, just after the lift bridge. We walked up the Whitchurch Arm and round to the Aldi.
It wasn’t a bad location, the Aldi was only 10 mins walk! Just a bit of road noise from the bridge. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Very enjoyable. I hope you got rid of the spider.😁

Greetings , first time comments Love your graphics and Google maps of the route. Gives a new meaning to "keep it under your hat"...lol Very active By-washes on that stretch, is that common? Best Regards TTFN
Cheers
Hi Garey, lots of our overseas subscribers enjoy the map too. The by- washes can be a bit fierce on this canal because there is always a bit of a flow. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Thanks for another good vid but I'm wondering if that spider doesn't live between them ears😁 I hope it takes care of the flies.
😂🤣😂, it May well do!! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Lovely vlog guys. But not sure were that tiller handle is going, driving with no hands.
Thank you Thomas, glad you’re enjoying the journey. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Did Pat ever find the spider ??
Nope, I think it was in his head!🤣. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
@@ournarrowboatquest4894 Maybe it was a floater in his eyes.....lmao
But how did Pat do on the bywash of Grindley Brook lock no4 ? It caught me this year but I had a narrow approach there was a hire boat stopped on the lock landing
🤣😂🤣, I said that when I watched it back!! I think he managed that one but the next lock was more difficult! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
"Boris the Spider" now I'm dating myself.
🤣😂, you certainly are! Great track though 👍. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Is that a winters supply of coal?
🤣😂, no, it’ll only last about a month! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Where do you spend winter
We continuously cruise all year round Sharon. This year we’ll spend winter on the Llangollen. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
You are going too fast if you need an anemometer to measure your speed
Due to the water flow on this canal, the engine revs do need to be a little higher. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
I look to the Heaven's and ask the Lord our God who is she , his chosen one , or is she in spite of your teachings , chosen by none believer's " allegedly " therefore , who called Alison Fulford , ? the so called reverend of St Margaret's , She who would put herself above you our God and deny Eileen entry into your House of Worship .. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death , I will fear no evil : for thou art with me ; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me .
