Open transfers are pretty typical. Inside looks exactly like the 40cc utility 2 strokes, hambone crank, 2 big open transfer ports. They generally last forever. Pretty reliable design. And the cylnder looks solid. This would be a great motor for just getting around reliably
Feel like I'm being stroked. He always says he's going to show us how to make the engine faster. Then he just ripped them apart and shows us what's inside which is cool. But then the videos over. I thought he was going to modify it and make it faster.
want to hear your opinion on this rod to ZMN80

Where do the wires go to
My piston was disconnected when they shipped it to me is it easy to put back on
Alex I have a question for you I just mounted my new bt80 on my bike I rode it it was running good but it just turned off and now it won't start it has spark gas flow is fine all wiring is good but it just doesn't start any information you can help me with
Hey I got mine to 37
You "DROVE EM"? 🤔
RODE.
supposed start doesn't break is usually that metal aluminum gear next to the post start starts grinding and metal shavings all in your motor and engine bearings

Check your stud spacing against the Husky 50 mm jug for chainsaw or Stihl
Would you do a video on how to replace a manual clutch assembly and how to properly adjust it? I need to replace the one on my 80cc motor.
I have a video on how to reset the whole clutch system. Is that what you need?

Do you think the electric start assembly could be bolted on to a gt90 case with a centrifugal clutch?

i can build a motor too
If you can.... we have plans for a big bore kit and it works I’ve done it 69mph and getting faster
Hey you mentioned adjusting the centrifugal clutch, is that possible on these engines? I would like to probably loosen up the clutch on my BT80.
Hey Alex, Great Videos!
I have a Regular HT China girl, hoping to upgrade to a better motor was looking at the newer BT80 without pull start, my question is: is there a Way to charge the battery like the regular HT China girls have the Generator by the magneto to power headlamps or charge batteries?
Can I install a Generator inside it or will I need to fabricate an external Alternator Generator to the BT80?
Found the answer to this question, thanks for reply.
What was the answer to this question ya asked
It has its own e starter/alternator
@@motorizedbicyclenation53cu90 answer is it has its own generator, but better than that, I used motorcycle headlamp wired to a 12v lithium Chinese battery and it powers it for 14days.
@@eddiediaz9267 so where ya get the battery and Wich one?
Hey man I’m really thinking of getting this motor. More for the convenience of the centrifugal clutch. Are there any products out there that you could mount to like a zeda or whatever and make the same thing? Basically giving me the ability to remove the pedals altogether?
You have to have pedals or u need a license. But no the bolt on pull starts and centrifugal are trash
Hey man ,does the starter also act as the generator?
nope.. but it does generate 12v to charge batts ....

I'll have to avoid your "authoritative" videos from now on. You need to get over yourself. Was looking for information about the motor but got more attitude than information. Since you're such an authority on engines you should stop flapping your jaw on youtube about what someone else has developed and start manufacturing your own engines.
Thanks for watching! 👍
I've saw this engine and you could upgrade it by putting a reed valve on it and a better carb and you could upgrade the exhaust but never seen anyone do it before
Did you every do the final assembly? I need help with the wiring? Electric start doesn't work?
Right on I'm digging the bt80 shite I'm getting the bt80 for my west coast chopper bycicle
I'd like to know if you could change the piston and jug head combo with the phantom 85 v
How to remove clutch of bt80. Because I same engine ,had problem.
Dude I need to get one. The China dolls are so cheeply made and I keep burning the clutch arm and ball bearing and it's just really unreliable. I've always wanted a centrifugal clutch but didn't want a fourstroke. Guess I found it, plus these have bigger stud spacing and a better case transfers. Can probably fit a chainsaw cylinder no problem
Really would have liked to seen the starter mechanism. So I could have tried to fabricate something on my trusty 66 for a starter . I expected a tare down . 👎👎👎👎👎
I personally think you should have help filming.
It could be a great help for you and others trying to gain knowledge.
For me,.. All the constant camera moving was giving me a headache. (Like being in a roller coaster.. No time to really look before the field of view changes)
Absolutely great information though!
My bt80 has a knocking noise dont k ow if it's the clutch or something else
I still use prohonda Hp because of you. All these years later.. thank you
Can I get push button start with out a pull start
It has oil reservoir beside the clutch. What type of oil to use? it does not say on the manual what oil to use for the clutch oil reservoir. it only says put 120ml motorcycle oil. should we use automatic or manual motorcycle oil?
Tons and tones of chinessium = BT motors LOL!
My bullet train didn't come with a piston when I purchased it
I have no spark on mine replaced cdi still no spark
People, do NOT buy this dog of an engine. I bought one and it sucked. NO POWER!!!! Had to peddle the bike if I was on any type of grade and even on flat surface alot of the time. Only time you didn't have to pedal was downhill. I'm not stupid and have built a few gas bike so it wasn't error on my part. The engine just has no power.
Anyone got any porting tips on this cylinder? Any easy up 1mm widen 1mm or don’t raise ports or what?
Update on Bullet train?
My bt80 clutch has delay in clutch engaging sometimes. It revs with throttle but the bike is not moving, after a while clutch engages, then the bike jolts suddenly. how to fix?
Hello! You will need to replace the clutch pads.
When the plastic pieces break-off the pull-start and get into the starter chain, the crunching noise will sound like the clutch is coming apart, I have two of these BT80 kits, after fixing that pull-start problem, and getting the engine to open-up with an expansion-chamber, I can now recommend this kit to others, GOOD-LUCK EVERYONE!!
What expansion chamber do ya use?
I've been looking for r an engine for a trike this might work
i thought you wer Oging to Tear it All down?
Where could I get a windowed piston for this? I have no knowledge of piston sizing. Thank you
The real part you gotta figure out is how to get a nice reed. Then drill a hole or two in the piston once you have that working. The bullet train has a proprietary piston and does not come with a reed valve stock so you will probably not find a windowed bullet train piston.
Lmao special tool what an Alan key lmao
Why do you keep peddling these Chinese junk motors to impressionable kids?
You should be ashamed. These kids waste their money because of shit like this.
For shame.
Thanks for watching! 👍
много говоришь, толка нет твоего видео.
Instead of investing in electric start someone should build a motor with gears.
I'm with you! There is a small 3 speed system ive seen actually. It just makes them 100% illegal to have more than one gear.
What if you don't have a number 3 on piston. Have the same bt motor but no number 3 ..🤷♂️
The "BT80" piston is pretty unique and has three rings.
Ok a crap motor with a starter.😒
Alex van you possibly install a regular cylinder instead of the 1 piece or are the stud spacing different
I dont see why not. Let me go grab an old halfbreed jug and check lol

I messed around with the "China doll" motors for a few years.
Ok, but without any low end and very fragile.
As apposed to
"Goldenmotors" electrical motors.
The 1000w/self contained controller with a 48v 48c battery was superior to the China doll.
Very easy to install, had disc brakes, and mounting the battery to the main bar ( bicycle top bar) made it feel way more balanced.
With a overall top speed of 50 mph for short periods, and cruising speed of 40 mph and a range of 50+ miles.
I stopped building chinadolls.
With a 1500w/self contained controller and dual 48 v batteries, I pushed it to over 60 mph .
Granted, 60 mph was dangerous...
But a hell of a lot fun.
any updates

Looks like those jugs make porting work very difficult.
Oh no shit i just thought about that, cleaning with brake cleaner to spray out all metal shavings from inside the cylinder body and all that would be a nightmare since it has no 2 exists so you couldnt simply spray it out 😐 be a scooping scraping madness for the cylinder walls rather than removing the head and simply spraying the piss out of it and wiping it for good measure after it dries
Well clean up… dish soap degreaser and water w a q tip to get in the tiny spaces and get the grinding dust out
Why do these new motors have to be torn down
They don't! If I havnt seen the inside before I check it out.
The BT80 is the ultimate commuter engine. Good torque, decent top end, and a real 12V 6 pole stator for running lights and anything else you'd like to hook up. I'd still be running one if it wasn't for parts availability being so hit and miss for them - especially replacement cylinders.
can't u throw pretty much any cylinder on it
New to your channel. Awesome, lots of info! Got this kit on my chopper. Can't wait to see any mods you are able to perform on this beauty. Just picked up a reed kit for this. Exhaust is next.
Did you Finnish the next video? When the bt80 has it's installed upgrades to make it go faster.
YO what up homy? yeah that one-piece juggy on my china girl surly 29er is still humming perfect. i'm a fan of the one-piece. no more head stud nuts coming loose, no leakage, and less weight (few oz) I see you threw in my pic! HAHA!!! im famous!!!---yes, that one-piece china girl is smooth. she wont rev as high as my standard 2-piece head motor, but I notice a slight bit more low end, and that suits me fine. I can just go and alter my rear sprocket. im not a fan of breakneck speeds anyway. runs perfect. I think I might have to replace it with that bt 80 jug if I ever rebuild it, because that's the ONLY one-piece jug I can find, anywhere. I wish I could find an exact replacement, I aint worried about cost. im worried about clearances in there like when you compared it to the 2 piece stud spacing or just plain stroke length. this is one reason why I just unbolt these things from the bike when they break and buy a whole new motor
Yeah buddy!
Hello, friend, is the motor AC alternating current or DC direct current?
Lol it has to be DC....
@@abikelife1481 hola, ya verifique y es AC. 👍
@@mariotorres2485 no it is not alternating current. You think that power is alternating back and forth live within that starter and wires?
@@abikelife1481 I am 100% sure that the bt80 motor is alternating current, yesterday I installed alternating current cdi racing and it works well, the stator coil rises AC and the rectifier converts it to DC to charge the battery but AC arrives for ignition 👍. If you want, you can write to me at this whatsapp +573144490740 and I will send you photographs of how to install adjustable racing CDI and high racing coil.
@@mariotorres2485 I believe that could be possible actually, because I knew it had to have some DC aspect for the battery
That motor cost a pretty penny to be such a slow poke at low end torque. Top end speed is decent but not fast enough for the money . Your video get 2 thumbs up👍👍 however that MOTOR gets 2 thumbs down👎👎

That motor isn't worth the money AT ALL ! The electric start is a cool feature but it lacks speed , especially on the take off . I've built 2 motorized bikes with this motor and the clients weren't pleased AT ALL . They bought the motor kits thinking they were gonna be front runners in Da Palm Beaches! Don't waste your money on this 1.
Mines quite fast with pretty nice takeoff unassisted. Put around 3000 miles on it. Been running stock other than velocity stack and filter with a 40 tooth rear sprocket. Does 40mph easy but I'm not a big guy either. Also haven't replaced anything other than the clutch throughout all these miles so maybe by time I bought mine in 2020 they had them built a little better.

Isn’t it possible to take your cylinder head combo and replace it with a normal cylinder and high compression head.
I guarantee you you will never buy another one & not because it lasted long 👍.
Don’t really think it’s gonna shatter in pieces. It’s not exactly high horsepower
I bought one of these engines and it want pull a greasy string out of a goose's ass
Hey man I'm having trouble with removing parts I have the exact same engine as you
Which ends up being better, the open transfers or the bridged?
Don't they make a 4 up gearing that bolts up to this motor that will hook up to a jack shaft so that you can use the gears on a mountain bike for both more power and also speed also torque so that a person can also climb hills easier?
On the Piston jug cylinder you made a comment about the slots in the bottom of the cylinder. If you notice that the engine has no valves.. what you're looking at with those slots is the fuel intake for the Piston cylinder the action of the Piston moving up from the lower part of the slot to the top part of the slot sucks fuel into the cylinder to be compressed for combustion. Got to remember it's a two-stroke not a four stroke. And I do realize that most of the people on UA-cam are not motorcycle mechanics. Also on your pull start you were complaining about the plastic components. Please don't do that you want those plastic components in a pull start. Especially a engine this small. The reason for the plastic components is it's a lot easier and less expensive to replace a broken pull starter system than it is to replace your whole engine when your pull start screws up. Back in the old days when I was in a small engine repair class back in 1981 somebody brought in a lawn mower where their pull start had the old aluminum component for cranking as opposed to the plastic component. They were cranking it and got jammed and messed their engine up. Stand corrected they were not pulling it when it happened they came out and took a hold of the flywheel when it happened. What happens at this point is you mess up your flywheel and if it jams incorrectly it can cause you to burn up your bearings or even worse throw a ride all kind of wild s*** you got to watch out for you want the plastic
Read what you wrote 🤣🤔💩4🧠's!
I think the motoos 66cc head might fit on this crankcase I'll have to compare the 2 once I get one of these
