@@copycat21c Here’s an example of what can be done at just a little bit higher level. Instead of taking the derivative of a function and setting it to zero (which finds the maximums and minimums of the function), dy/dx = 0, one can consider varying the function with the so called delta or variational operator delta = ybar - y where ybar is y but a little bit deformed, keeping the same endpoints tho, so we constrain it. This idea is what is known as the variational calculus. And is used in Feynman’s sum over histories approach to give us an even more precise story about light and electrons than we had with Maxwell. I assume the Egyptians didn't have the concept of zero, either? Didn't seem to matter when it came to building the pyramids and other structures. (Although I personally believe it was a civilization before the Egyptians that built them.) 😊

...the light in his eyes
Brilliant!
I live in a town where this is still way too relevant
that teacher could make a statue sing out its secrets. hes that intimidating.
Órale, zero.I live in the ghet. Great film!
I loved this movie! I always loved math but never learned calculus.
what's calcoolis?
You’ve gotta learn, it is one of the things that give you a whole different perspective on the world
Calculus is a trip. I didn’t go past senior (the units I did in first year uni were so basic), but it’s incredible what you can do with calculus.

*Deliver...
There is no year zero. Goes from 1 BC to 1 AD.
hi mr hoffman you are my favorit teacher
Olmos is great in this.
I love me some history revisionism.
I wish he had been my maths teacher
Did anyone else notice utube censored the snap your neck comment
"Deliver"
If you went to school in socal in the 60's you know what zero is ? ✌️
I won't dispute the Mayan claim, but will point out that India also came up with the concept of zero well before the roman empire existed.

And what have you done to try and improve the world besides pointing out a misspelling?
Arab mathematicians introduced the zero and Algebra to the world. Learn history before you teach math 😂
Arab mathmeticians seem to have appropriated Indian (Hindu) math.

Maybe first in the New World. The natives of the New World developed all their knowledge independent of any outside influence.
