Thomas, I love your video's , but you make my life difficult. I love touring Norway, but also Germany. Every time I see one of your video's, I think that's it I'm going back to Norway, then I see a video of Germany, and think, oh crap, where do I go. Not a bad problem to have in the grand scale of things. been to Andalsnes more than once. As always you video's are of exceptional quality. All the best from England. 👍👍
Hahaha, I know all about that feeling 🙈 I think it is two different type of travels, but I know how it is to want both at the same time. I have it like this with hiking and motorcycle travel as well. Want to do everything at the same time haha. Åndalsnes will have a lot more to offer in the future. They are really building some great stuff in that little town. So much to see and do, and the easy access of the mountain with the new skylift. Need to get back there and take a trip in the mountain. Maybe get myself an electric MTB 🤩

I rode Aursjövegen in june. Definitely the high point of last years trip to Norway.

Realize this is August, and there is nothing like watching motorcycling when you have to snowmobile around, but we all have our joys 😊. I'm looking forward to spring.

Aursjøvegen is the only one road in all our trip in the Norway which I planned to ride but we didn't do this. We especially started ride to this direction to make a round on this great road but unfortunatelly somewhere at the begining (we rode from Eresfjord direction) road was closed because of some big road works. The weather was rainy so I think we didn't lose to much. Maybe next time... Great video as always 👍💪. Skål! 🥃🙂
To bad you did not manage to see Aursjøvegen. That is probably one of the most beautiful roads in Norway (in my opinion) There is just something special about riding there. Yes, make sure to go there next time if you are in the area. I like to ride it back and fourth on the same day. So i end up in Åndalsnes again. Cheers

Awesome scenery and what a fun to watch your videos. What is was wondering, how do you do lube your chain on these trips? Do you have a chain lube system or do you lube your chain with the hand?

Thank you Rob….glad you like them. Well, i dont use that much chain lube. I use some transmission oil every now and then, but i never lube a dirty chain on my trips. I wait until after i clean it. I have a little bottle in my jacket with extra oil if i need it on my trips. Cheers

PS: My Transalp 600 is getting ready for the season. New MOT, new rear brake pads and my dealer is looking at the clutch. With full throttle the revs rise faster than the speed, so it slips a bit. That's okay after 55,000 miles. You never know how gentle the former owners were with their clutch work. You don't have that uncertainty with a new bike.
Hi, I can update you on the Cagiva: the 750 engine is fantastic, it has a lot of torque! It does need some care though, the worst problem is knocking from the rear piston 😔 I would guess the Transalp engine is a bit more reliable, I have two old Honda motorcycles: unbeatable machines when it comes to reliability!
Haha, that is a great summary my friend. Summer, Sunshine, Adventure and coffee 🤩👏🏻 Is it a lot of work to change the clutch on this bike? Always nice to start fresh with an overhauled bike before season. Cheers
@@tshansen Most work seems to get the crash bar and bash plate our of the way, Thomas. New oil/filter needed afterwards as well. Probably springs and plates are old and need to be changed. Maybe tomorrrow I hear more from my dealer. I don't want to do this myself in the winter, no heating/electricity in my garage ;-)
TRW instead of Honda original parts are still affordable, while Honda parts have doubled their price. What about Yamaha's price politics? Cheers, Günter
@@kihestad Yes, Ki, all the Hondas in my life have been very reliable. And the dealer's have always been fantastic, even outside of Germany. Your Cagiva is special, a friend owns one and many other rare bikes. He says: The Elephant is closest to his heart and will leave him only after his death. There you go! @@enduromotorradtouren That seams to be the case for a lot of bikes these days. new and old. Stripping them down to get to the bolts etc. I really wish I had a better garage to do maintenance myself. I have no idea how it is with Yamaha, this is my first one, and it is brand new. Cheers
Just start to say how mush I appreciates your contents. Been riding in Norway for years on holidays and cant get enough. I see you use the brilliant equipment of Trangia as I do. I run the stove on spirits "T-röd" but you on gas. How long does the gas cartridge last for you ? If you use it like two times a day, morning coffee and evening meal, how many weeks will a gas cartridge last? Should I convert my Trangia stove to a gas one ?

Wow, thank you Jan, really appreciate the nice comment 👏🏻 🤩 I’m not sure how long a gas canister last to be honest, i have never measured it that way. It last long enough that i don’t worry about it and find a new one when it starts to get empty. Well, i think the best part about “T-Rød” is the silence and just feel of cooking with it. But it is less equipment to bring with gas, it is safer to use inside my tent, and it is way more efficient if you want to get water boiling fast or just plan to use cook a larger meal. You need to refill a hot stove and that is not safe inside a tent. I have tried 😆 So i would say you need to evaluate how you use the kitchen and if you need to upgrade it. Maybe you don’t need to? Haha, Good question! Well, the truth is, on this trip I planned to camp in the highlands, and there is not too many great places to hang the amok. So I took my tent instead. It is also easier to stay warm and stay sheltered from the weather inside a tent in the cold air. Cheers

I use the Sidi Adventure 2 boots, and they are more than warm enough for a trip to Iceland and Norway 🤩

Well, that is only in the movies! I spend way to much time at home 🔥 normaly, because of my work i only have 14 days for trips like this! Once, maybe twice a year i have 21 days to spend on a trip.
I’m heading to Norway in 2024 to reach the article circle I’ve seen some amazing places to visit through UA-cam but I’d like to visit more of the rent places an roads you travel rather than the usual tourist route. I’ve got 3 weeks to travel from Ireland an back
@@bikesbluesrallies7768 You can manage to see a lot in 3 weeks, but i bet you will use 1 week just travel from Ireland to Norway, and back. Or is there any ferries going close to Norway i don’t know about?
