There are trains in Nigeria though but building Lagos to Abuja might take a while. Right now the major trains are Warri to Itakpe (Itakpe is 2 hours from Abuja), Lagos to Ibadan, and Abuja to Kaduna. So unlike Nairobi to Mombassa, Nigerian train routes do not link the most popular cities (Lagos to Abuja).
@@thedante7722 I agree. But Warri-Itakpe was already halfway completed by Military General Babangida in 1987. Then they only just started thinking of how to build Abuja. What Buhari did was to then complete Warri-Itakpe in 2020. Warri-Itakpe was also built with Steel industry in mind. Both Kogi and Delta had Steel complexes then. Ajaokuta was not completed and Delta steel was sold by the Obasanjo Government in 2002 during return to Democracy.

There's a tourism minister in Nigeria but it is a merged ministry called Ministry of Information, Culture & Tourism. That alone has Been an issue many of us Nigerians have been criticizing the govt for. That attitude was inherited from the past military govts who focused so much on petroleum income. Tourism needs to be taken more seriously now. For instance, There are world heritage sites in Osun state Nigeria, waterfalls as well as other attractions scattered around the country. There's interstate train service between Abuja & Kaduna, Ibadan & Lagos. Very interesting conversation.
Thank you I actually plan on making a video about it separately because the tourism and travel vlogger vibe could be a lot bigger here! I was actually very ignorant to the various trains that are here in Nigeria until I did some digging because it’s just not pushed often

You should take the transportation buses for the route to Abuja to Lagos I stay in Lagos as a black American I would not dare waste my money on a plane trip I'll pay those 30,000 naria and if I want extra space still pay 10,000 naria extra so no one sits next to me 🤫
I think we need to start tagging government officials on this kinds of videos, our government thinks everything is politics.... its very difficult for even common Nigerians to travel around talkless of foreigners... I think we start tagging them.
@@BrittneyCaldwelleah that is why the flights are expensive, if there were enough train options then the flight prices will drop. And also Nigeria is almost double the size of Kenya so it will take a long time to complete these train projects, there are a couple of them ongoing.
