And that fact that our Nigerian girl didn't get offended when others thought her pronunciation was strange is so correct. We are Nigerian like that, proud of who we are and confident of even our awkwardness 😂😂
The Kenyan also had a typical kenyan accent and it's more understandable than the Nigerian one. The Ghanaian accent here was a bit fake but its understandable. The nigerian one was typical but its difficult to understand nigerians. Where tf do u guys alwsys get the "o"?😂😂😂

This was more about pronunciation than accents, actually. Many people confuse pronunciation for accent. It's very important to pronounce words correctly. You can pronounce words correctly and still retain your accent. Accent encompasses a whole lot more than how words are pronounced. For example, Chimamanda Adichie pronounces her words correctly, but you can still tell she's Nigerian. There are Asians who pronounce their words correctly in English, and you can still tell they have their accents. I believe that people should put in effort to pronounce words correctly (it's not phoneh), they won't lose their accents. Focus on correct pronunciation rather than on accent.
You are right & I totally correct!
I agree with you 😊👏🏻
No, accent is exactly the way a particular group of people pronounce a language. Aside from countries, accents may differ depending on region, social class, schooling, gender, etc. Some Nigerian accents (like that of Chinamanda Adichie) are closer to more standard English dialects than others, but they’re not better, or more correct.
@felipevasconcelos6736 100%. Yes, when I come across any English word that I am not familiar with, I try pronouncing it using my Igbo accent. I can still remember when I was still learning how to read I pronounced the Republic of "China" just the way it sounds in my language 😂
Without the Nigerian accent, envelop doesn't sound like there's money inside 😂

@tapas.godson who told you we don't have water in Africa. Nigeria alone has three major rivers that divide the nation into three equal halfs amongst the ocean, beaches, seas etc... not to talk of other nations. If you think Africans don't have water you must be delusional. The people who gave you that information are scamming you and making billions of dollars in donations out of your ignorance 😅. maggi cubes was developed by Julius Maggi in 1886-a swiss national. he developed it for the swiss company nestle. mind you nestle is in cote divoire, sensgal, ghana, nigeria ...lots of west african states. why nigerians assuem maggi cube is theirs spins my head. and the correct pronounciation of maggi cube was given by the ghanaian and the kenyan...again nestle has branches in east africa including kenya.
As a Nigerian I'm in full support of the Nigerian accent.. this is fun BTW🎉🎉
It is not funny at all - especially when other alphabet replaces another(Pray/Play)!
This insensitivity has ruined many academic employments; without knowing why was rejected.
Strong coys don't employ someone who might be misunderstood...no matter the flying colours in your results.
heard lots a nigerians claim maggi cubes seasoning as their product or 'their own'...they do so for other products services etc....its annoying to say the least. correct maggi pronounciation was given by the ghanaian and the kenyan...maggi seasoning was developed by julious maggi a swiss national working with nestle which is swiss company. nestle has branches across west africa. nestle is in cote divoire, ghana, nigeria, senegal etc so how is it that nigerians assume most products originated from them.

The fact that I am a Nigerian makes me to laugh at our accent. We speak raw, no phonetics. I went to a conference where a Librarian man gave a lecture. Trevor Noah has explained it best when he once said in his podcast "Nigerians don't care about how they pronounce English, they pronounce with their energy"😂😂😂 that's why I love them
Trevor Noah has also said funny things about his fellow SA accent. People just are into Nigerians too much! When Trevor Noah hears Pidgin, he thinks that’s Nigerian English. I’ve heard him speak supposedly with a Nigerian accent several times. I wish I could tell him to stop. It sounds retarded. I love Trevor but He always does the pidgin. Not even pidgin, but some broken English with a scary accent. I heard Chimamanda N Adichie once tell him very nicely “Nigerians don’t speak like that”. And she was right. Lots of people do that. The moment they see a Nigerian, they speak some weird Pidgin English and call it a Nigerian accent! Horrible!
I think Nigerians have tend to use their pronunciation as a way of making money since they know it's funny
That is not true at any level
@@zeeone4492 Trevor Noah hails from a country where 90% do not speak English. The last lines of their National Anthem …in “South Africa my Land”, they actually say in “South Africa my Friend.”……😂. He’s used to the way the Africans speak there. People like what they’re used to. Someone needs to tell him that Pidgin English is not Nigerian Accent. Two totally different things!

Funniest goes to Kenyan, best pronunciation for the Ghanaian, and Nigeria I don't know 😁 (let's say original, we copy and add our own on top indeed)
Accurate 😂
This is brilliant. Thank you for being so authentic.
So what I have learned is Nigerians do not try to copy the English people's accent which is just beautiful. Most African countries think its posh to speak like an English person. The Indians, Chinese, Polish speak English but still keep their accent. If I am to have a sec life I wanna come back as Nigerian ❤
The British colonialists did not rule Nigeria the same way as other African colonies. They used a system called Indirect Rule. The people were very uncooperative with them, because they were a very proud people, having had large, wealthy empires and kingdoms, like Benin, Oyo, the Hausa states, and the Fulani caliphates, before the British arrived. So there were always skirmishes, violence, and opposition to the British, even after they'd established their colonial regime. So rather than send white British governors to oversee the various regions of the country (direct rule), they left the administration of the various regions to local kings and chiefs, and simply oversaw the colonial enterprise from Lagos, the then capital. So that closeness to the British and their accent and ways, that occurred in places like Ghana, Kenya, Zambia etc, was absent in Nigeria, and it shows in the way they are today, and how they value their culture and traditions - and accent, over western influences.
@@helengyamfiboateng9149 It's no one's fault if you are ignorant of Nigerian history. Why don't you take an hour to learn a thing about it before commenting?
