What's up you guys! I am vibing in Nigeria and trying to explore, explore, explore! The country has beautiful landscapes, hiking, and great landmarks- but it's not very easy and many people have a fear of insecurity. We are working to change this and explore this. Explore with us and follow Kay Hikers Club! What's your favorite spot in Abuja?
Brittney these interviews highlight your talents! I think it is a good lane. I think people will also be interested in everyday life of a black american as a wife in Abuja, good or bad to the extent you're comfortable. But of course you have a right to your privacy. Maybe you can do a series visiting and then ranking Abuja tourist sites, then restaurants, then parks, then etc.
Brittney you're doing absolutely great within this short time in Nigeria, I wish one day you will start a tv show here in Nigeria like the Oprah Winfrey. Some years back one of the Michael Jackson brother wanted to develop Badagry for tourism I don't what happened between him and the government of that time. I know a year of return will happen in Nigeria very soon! Peace and love!
Actually there's the Door-of-Return which was erected in Badagry to replace the Door of No return at Gberefu Island in Badagry for Diaspora Africans willing to connect with their roots, take up residence in Nigeria and of course foreign direct investment. Nigeria erected the first symbolic Door of Return monument on August 24th, 2017 which was done by the Mrs Abike Dabiri, who heads the Nigerians in Diapora commission (NIDCOM) and chaired by Hon. Timothy E. McPherson Jr, Minister of Finance for the Accompong Maroons in Jamaica, as part of the Diaspora Festival in Badagry. The festival held every year until 2020 when covid 19 broke out, but i can't say if it has continued since then. It doesn't just have so much publicity but the events and activities are online.
Nigeria is beautiful but not yet ready for tourism. We need better infrastructure, transportation system, and security before we invite ppl to visit. Safety and comfort is important to put in place first
@@BrittneyCaldwell yes it will. For too long, we've only depended on our own large diaspora visiting and so we didn't care if we received so many other visitors or not. The returning diaspora who are Nigerians would have no culture shock but non Nigerians visiting for the first time definitely would.
Abuja was caved as capital of Nigeria in 1976. Then construct started because it was like a virgin land with just tiny surrounding village settlements. Thus, Abuja is a city that was created and not a city that evolved. But the government officially move administration of Nigeria from Lagos to Abuja in 1991.
1976 is correct... It was named capital in 1976 by a military declaration of Gen. Murtala Mohammed. The seat of power was officially moved to Abuja from Lagos in 1991. So answer is 1976
It is not a waste of time, trust me. Yes it may not be set up correctly but you cannot underestimate the educational and important historical value it holds. I have been there many times from childhood to adulthood both on school excursions and with family so i know what I'm saying. The slave relics, point of No return and Heritage museum are worth seeing. Ignore the low investment or lack of maintainance, focus on the value.

Badagry is not well organised. It lack any basic infrastrutures. The Tourguide should think of another site in lagos to take you and your guests to when they visit nigeria. Nigeria has no maintenance culture.

They can't be identified as just igbos or Yoruba without mentioning their tribes. (That is where you find the tribes he mentioned, but they're linked back to the ethnicities, Which makes the ika's Igbo) For example tribes in Igbo lands are ngwa , ndoki, ikwerre , etche , asa, ika .... Just to name a few Ethnicity is just like a kingdom , In it you'll find tribes , clans and kindreds To summarize this , every individual is identified by their ethnicities in Nigeria, their tribe, clan and kindreds So if you have a Yoruba friend or ijaw , you ask them their tribe , clan and kindreds name in the village.... Nigeria's Insecurity is not about attacking people on the highways. It is all about clashes between village farmers and bush herders.
