Shiquila S Shiquila S Boyz II Men continues to tour and sell out shows. They have a steady residency in Las Vegas since 2013. They have toured with New Kids on the Block, BbD, En Vogue. A lot of their shows are solo. Majority of their shows are sold out. Just cause you are not checking for them doesn’t mean they fell off. A lot of artists do things outside of music. Shawn has a foundation and business with his wife. He also release an EP and is working on his solo album. Nate flips houses and Wanya is working on his music. They are still very much Boyz II Men and very much in demand. They are legendary. I have met them several times and they have been nothing but nice. Sure ppl have bad days and they don’t feel 100% like themselves but assholes are not them. Not after the 1st album. They have admitted their faults and owned up to wrong doings. Nate tells the story of turning down I’ll Make Love to You as well as Amazed which earned another group a Grammy. Don’t go based off what you think you know but based off facts. I have met them, the band, managers, staff and all of them are nice. One experience doesn’t define a person. Ppl think my ass is mean but that’s their perspective of an interaction and not necessarily me. The last album they release was 2014. They recorded a song with Snoop last Xmas and currently working Country and Bluegrass artists.

Agreed. I believe the real issue is us fans put these entertainers/celebrities on a pedestal and they feed off it and become cocky or just show their true colors. We need to learn how to separate the celebrity from the actual person. They are no better than us just famous.
True because ironically, Lisa Lopes from TLC described Dallas as hard to deal with, greedy, and how he became hard to work with as well. Guess he can't admit that success changed him, too.
Nate admitted to this at their live show I just saw them a few weeks ago. He said they passed up on some Number 1's that they regretted and those songs went on to be even bigger than their hits. He said when they were younger they had huge egos and didnt want to listen to older heads at the time since they had immediate success.

Name some R&B groups from the 90s that did anything after the 90s. You can’t, because they don’t exist. The industry changed. R&B groups pretty much don’t exist anymore - because there’s no money in it. Boyz II Men’s Full Circle album from 2002 had some phenomenal songs on it. They sounded great. It didn’t sell though. NO music that sounded like that was selling.
Archer Leocap Eh, different era. Boyz II Men tried when it was already too late. N.E. did it right at their peak and at a time when R&B was popping in the mainstream. People remember that N.E.’s 2004 album bricked hard too right? R&B groups were over by then.

Man, I haven't paid attention to the R&B and hip-hop scene in about 20 years. Dallas Austin is one of the behind-the-scenes guys who has to have a TON of stories. He's one of those guys who was all over the place and you would never have known if you didn't pay much attention.
That explains a LOT actually. Because I wondered why they worked with big name producers less and less after II, and they started writing and producing their own stuff, which was inferior. This story leads me to think Jheryl Busby kept things together and then it was basically a wrap once they left Motown. They thought they were hot shit and didnt need anybody and the second they were on their own, the hits stopped.
Dallas Austin clearly is the sound of modern R&B, progressive hip hop. This dude has mad skills as a multi-instrumentalist, technologist, producer and composer. He is widely known and respected, but Jam and Lewis and Babyface definitely crowded the space and rightfully so. But DARP was and still is so DOPE!
It's crazy to hear all this drama behind people's favorite iconic songs. When singing New Edition's Boyz 2 Men song, Johnny Gill said he tried to sabotage the song because he hated being brought into their drama, but when you listen to the song, he killed that shit.
One Sweet Day, End Of The Road, I'll Make Love To You, all that shit right there.... Joints!! Hell, even Let It Snow was a straight joint. Went to High School with Sammie... he stopped music to have a normal childhood, and then went back to the industry after he graduated. DA is very well-spoken. I'd like for myself to speak as efficiently without losing train of thought or tripping over my tongue. One of my favorite mixes of his, is of "The Power of Good-Bye" by Madonna. I love the original, and his mix just brought something fresh, yet keeping the familiarity. I especially love the vocal effect used in the mix, as it made it more haunting.
Easy to say and not easy to do... regardless of his story fame is a bigger force than ppl realize and majority of the black community have not been exposed to such things...so I think it's unfair to even believe ppl especially young people would humble themselves...the more u receive the more u want... even a person getting a supervisor title changes their step because they have more advantages due to the title given
I love how the first part of this clip relates to the second. In the first part he talks about having all this success, but not really having it because all the money was sitting in escrow that he couldn't touch. So he was successful, but still came home to see his mom come home from working a blue collar job. That's keeping it real. That's what keeps you humble. That's keeping the success in check. And he did make good money doing remixes, but it's not "F The World" money. In the second part of this clip, he talks about B2M, who do have "F The World Money" and success after the sales of their first album and they let it blow up their heads while Dallas just watches this and sees how ridiculous this is. And you know he's telling the truth when fewer and fewer people (artists, producers, etc) wanted to work with them even after the success of II
I believe every word out of Dallas mouth. I use to see him often in Atlanta back in the 90's, always a cool down to earth brotha. He's the type when you see him inside the gas station he'll speak to you first. He would talk to you outside, he never acted like he was the shyt, when he really was.

Mary J. Blige use to be a serious bit** when she came out, but didn't act like in front of the camera.

@@tanyabrown6969 if someone is talking about you specifically, responding to it doesn’t mean you’re guilty. If you’ve ever been slandered or lied on, you’d understand. I’m not saying that’s the case here, I’m just saying “a hit dog will holler” in this type of case doesn’t mean the person responding is guilty. That saying goes for when someone is making a general statement about your group, be it black people, women, men, and you respond saying it’s bs, people will say a hit dog will holler since they weren’t necessarily talking about you and you got offended. Tiffani Sankey no but then they gave him a comeback album that d Austin and b Cox did and then they abandoned him
Went to High School with Sammie... he stopped music to have a normal childhood, and then went back to the industry after he graduated.
If I ever got a chance I’ll never disrespect who helped me get on regardless of the situation
