    People say R.Kelly is the R&B King, but they don't understand that Babyface OWNED R&B music back then! If these kids think The Dream & Ne-Yo are the GOAT Songwriters, they better research Babyface & his dominance as a Songwriter in the 90s!

    • @JERRODAYERSTV
      @JERRODAYERSTV 5 років тому +35

      TGF25 ALL FACTS it was almost law that if you performed R&B music in the 90’s you had to have at least 1 Babyface produced song.

    • @TGF25
      @TGF25 5 років тому +32

      JRod TV Word! A mid-tempo track from Babyface & a ballad from Diane Warren was a guaranteed way to sell 3 to 10 million albums in the 90s, easily!!!

    • @TGF25
      @TGF25 5 років тому +14

      Diane V Hell no! I respect Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis too, but most of their hits is mostly attached to Janet success! Babyface worked for many others from Bobby & Whitney to Madonna & Eric Clapton! Also you have to remember, Babyface was the creative, LA Reid was the business man! That's why when TLC was signed those bad contracts, they sued LA Reid & Pebbles, you notice they didn't sue Face, right? You disrespect Babyface, you gets NO HITS! Period! Also, Diane Warren 1st placement and hit, was Rhythm Of The Night by Debarge in the mid 80s! Her 1st song out the gate was a SMASH, and that's what caught David Foster's attention to begin with! It was the Debarge's biggest & last hit but Diane was just getting started!

      Face and La was killing it late 80's early 90's but R Kelly was more versatile with his sound

    • @TGF25
      @TGF25 5 років тому +4

      MrWARBUCKS24 R.kelly's subject matter was more versatile than Babyface but Face was more dominant on the charts as a Songwriter in the 90s! That was my point!

If you couldn’t get or afford them, then u went to R Kelly, P Diddy, Jermaine Dupree. Then the Dallas Austins and ur third tiered producers. I'm glad he said he was in bad contracts. He did a lot of work for little pay, and not even royalties make up the scarifies some end up tied up in the bullshit. All the hits Teddy Riley had, he never had true financial compensation. The money is always a issue!

    I'm from Philadelphia and never been a Boyz to men fan. I was a jodeci fan at heart. I believe what he is saying. Boyz to men strikes me as being big headed when they were at top in the 90's. I saw one on South Street when they were hot in the 90's. He was standing there. Forgot which one but he look like he was stuck on himself. I just looked at him and kept driving. Lol

    Can’t really hate these young artists for getting their money despite putting out subpar music. For years they have taken our very best & given them pennies. But we can blame them for how they spend it - one day you will be 30s, 40s & 50s. Enjoy it but save ya ass off!!!!

    Mr. Austin, you forgot to tell how you curiously gave all of Troop's production to Boyz II Men. Out w/ the old and in w/ the new. Ain't that right, Mr. Austin? Anyhow, I loved Boyz II Men's first album. My favorites are _Uhh Ahh_ and _Please Don't Go._

    • @1969Makaveli

      See, and then, for whatever reason, he gave they music to Boyz II Men. Most artists/groups have 3 to 5 years in the spotlight and then it's on to the next wave of artists/groups. Boyz II Men had 6 years. _I Will Always Love You_ is my jam. My favorite is _Give it Up._

    Okay time to speak some real. Teena Marie was the first person I heard merging rapping and singing and she was a white woman, the second person I heard do that was Bobby Brown, after that came BBD and they really took it to another level and changed da game

      Ezekiel 23:28
      For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated
      Ezekiel 23:29
      And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms
      Ezekiel 23:30
      I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, a nd because thou art polluted with their idols.
      Ezekiel 23:31
      Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand
      Ezekiel 23:32
      Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou shalt drink of thy sister's cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much
      Ezekiel 23:33
      Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria
      Ezekiel 23:34
      Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD
      Ezekiel 23:35
      Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms
      Ezekiel 23:36
      The LORD said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations
      Ezekiel 23:37
      That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.
