He set up a charity in her honour called nikki's wishes which help provides fun days out for children suffering a bereavement of either a sibling or parent. It's a beautiful charity
Uzair thank you sir for bringing this to my attention
@@Stylishute aye, agreed

He’s a Bally hero ❤️
THIS NEEDS MOR LIKES AND ATTENTION !
This guy is a real man. He's already a soldier to me.
@Lord of Thunder is that why he eventually went to start a charity in honour of her wife it takes a lot to come out with stuff like that especially to strangers
Lord of Thunder Yes, this is your opinion
@Lord of Thunder agreed. It's TV, only idiots think anything on TV is 100% real.
@@liammacaodha4783 just because it's tv doesn't mean that it's complete bullshit
@@liammacaodha4783 If you doubt it, fine, personal opinion just like the rest of us. However, have you been on the show? How can you really know..
So, out of your ignorance you insult all these people by generalizing them as a lump of idiots but you're literally making the exact same assumption as what you criticize - thinking you know it all without a shred of backup.
Fine if you want to express your opinion. Calling the rest of these lot idiots because you think you're right with zero experience in the matter is just dumbfounding.
Don't be a hypocrite.
He’s definitely SAS material
A great guy for many reasons, however because of what happened to his wife, there might be a mental issue that might make him act un normal during stress. Im not sure i would have this guy near me during a firefight, who knows maybe he has a deathwish which will cause the death to the whole team.
cubismo85 That’s what they’re saying dude. He’s mentally prepared but physically unprepared.
5TUD1OU5 he was withdrawn from patella bursitis (swollen knee). Anyone can get that. He’s physically strong 💪
Gray Frank not necessarily but he’s one incredible person
Right Guy Wrong time!
I'm a 25 year old man with a pregnant girlfriend and can't imagine what he has gone through, tears in my eyes
Congrats with your baby! He or she is born already i supose 😁
I wondered the same thing!
Good luck being a parent 👍
Truth brother. Well spoken! Hope you’re enjoying your family!
Shahed Miah ...
What a strong and brave guy, them kids have a great dad. My heart goes out to him and his children. What a guy, I'm sure his wife is proud of him for being the man he is.
Yeahh
Saw a comment he started a charity in her name... the guy is a legend
Yeah (no, I'm not crying) those damn onions I cut yesterday? He refused to crumble, it's not pride that drives a real man, it's love.
What a legend. I’d say he’s tougher than the SAS, not just tough enough
Mastimus.. He has a severe knee injury, Ant discharged him, because it wasn't worth risking his health and long term leg problems, when he's got kids to look after. He was / is tough enough, he could've pushed forward with the training, he wanted to, but it wasn't worth the risk. That's not... 'not being tough enough'.!!
Yorkshire Lass he’s complimenting him :) saying that he’s tougher than the SAS and beyond just tough enough.
@@tedstation5607 I've read your comment a few times, trying to grasp what you meant, by saying ' he's beyond just tough enough' I thought it was an insult. But I now understand the concept, you are right, it was a compliment. I apologise for the misunderstanding . 🙂
@@Yorkie2 I think it was the tv show that made the decision not him. Bad PR if a contestant ends up with a long term/serious injury.
Matsimus small world, just saw you with a bottle of juice.....

100% was thinking that...what soulless bastard would dislike this when this story is that tragic, brought tears to my eyes
johnbeck92 AMEN 👊🏼👊🏼
One of the most chilling stories I've heard. It even impacts a battle hardened SAS soldier. Rest In Peace.
Both are sbs
@@adammound1982 - SAS and SBS go through the same hardening training you tit.
At the end of the day there’s 3 men in that room, 3 humans with emotions, being a special forces soldier doesn’t make you emotionless
@JexyXY then you don’t understand what the sas is… it’s a brotherhood and a family, not a fucking fast food chain
@Astrocide my brother works with the SBS and is homing to train up special forces in a few years as he is a royal marine officer. And I will tell you these SBS guys are so good because they have emotions they don’t want psychopaths in that line. Because they want to be able to control your human emotions. A soldier with no emotions is a useless soldier. In fact my brother has heard of men being withdrawn from training and active combat in both the Royal Marines and special forces training for being to ruthless. I mean literally enjoying causing slow long and agonising deaths on the field. He just said their so sick in the head it made him feel physically sick some of the guys who have been dishonourably discharged. My brother was recruited because of his ability to control his emotions and literally turn on and off his emotions and his ability to use his emotions to make him a better soldier it was honestly amazing to watch. His trainers where actually part of Ant, Jason fox, and Remi squad. Amazing solider I think he was part of 42 commando before going off to special forces training.
id be very happy if i become half the man he is
Never sell yourself short buddy
Ian Mann it’s not revenge the person was skits
Some shout that 👌🏼
This is like the worst thing I've ever heard, then it got to hearing his kids on the phone omfg omfg omfg.
Def the worst thing I've heard ever. Imagine the powerlessness you would feel being stuck on the other end of a phone. I can't even...
Horrific.
Another personal story on this show that really got to me was the guy whose wife killed herself (series 4 I think). The way he spoke about his wife was just beautiful and heart breaking. It's amazing and inspirational to see these men open up emotionally, especially in that kind of traditional macho environment. I have nothing but respect.
Rumour has it he was only on his neighbours phone a few yards away 🙄
It’s a joke people, lighten up.
Its awful isnt it. Jesus christ
No Name get a grip mate.
Christopher Cole ok snowflake.
What a strong man. Totally cut from a different cloth. How anyone could survive going through that is beyond comprehension
This man deserves everyone's respect and admiration. he's certainly earned it!
I'm awed by this man's demonstration of strength and courage not only in the series but in life. Also always suprised by ant and foxy's compassion at times. Great show I wish them all the very best

Nope, just hearing it tore my heart out. Actually putting myself there even in imagination is an abyss I'm not jumping into.

I’ve not been moved or emotionally disturbed by hearing something like this ever. I couldn’t even begin to think what he’s been through, I hope one day you find a happy place again ✊
This is the saddest thing I’ve ever heard I’m literally in tiers. I wish to god this man has a wonderful beautiful life .
The way he composed himself whilst repeating the story. Words cannot explain how devastating that experience would be.

This makes me never want to leave my girlfriend on her own ever again. Really is a shocking story
You have to teach her how to defend herself, also (I'm not sure where you live and if it's legal there) make her always have something to defend herself. A pocket knife, pepper spray, taser, anything.
You know you probably can't be with her 24/7 so at least she's prepared for bad stuff when you're not around.
This is a freak event. Get yourself a steel back door or a steel bedroom door, which is effectively a panic room.

Wow
Total respect to the guy he would have smashed the course if it wasn't for his knee a true legend
Rose lily ....I'm so glad to hear that . Those children and father , would need a hell of a lot of understanding , care and love to overcome such a devastating tragedy, I hope they're getting all the help and support they need .
Oh that's brilliant to hear
I don’t think Ant and the other guy were prepared for what that guy told them honestly hats of to the guy for doing it
Heartbreaking he didn't make it due to an injury.
However, 13 definitely possess the material needed to be a soldier.
when he meets an SAS regiment. the officers salute him
Watching this again made me emotional. Nikki was actually one of my really good freinds and so is dan. The charity called Nikki wishes is amazing such a good cause and a good day out. Xx
Ant & Foxy felt compassion not only as soldiers but as husbands. Respect to Dan and so pleased that he’s doing well and also has found love again. Loved this show. Binge-watched series 1 & 2. Yesterday’s episode with the Walter Mitty omg was a must-see episode
I have the upmost respect for this man.
I am a soldier with a Fiancé and 2 children and in February of 2019 I was away for training in South Korea. At around midnight in South Korea (4am in New Zealand) I got a message from my fiancée telling me that our 4 week old daughter was having breathing problems (didn’t seem to major).
My fiancé would wake up every few minutes and check on her. The last time she checked on her our wee daughter she was grey and unresponsive. Once I got the message from her telling me that I freaked out and called her atleast 20 times in the space of 10 minutes but I got no answer.
I thought that we had lost our daughter and here I am miles away from home with absolutely no power to do anything.
I called my brother who lived just around the road from my house who woke up and rushed over to my place. My call eventually went through to my fiancé however a paramedic answered. At that point I almost fainted. I thought that a paramedic answering meant that that was it. We had lost our daughter. Suddenly, I heard a baby crying in the background and it was our baby girl. My fiancé successfully resuscitated our dead baby. I was beyond happy. I couldn’t believe it. Needless to say I rushed home on the next flight.
Fast forward one year and my fiancé was suffering with severe depression and anxiety to the point she was suicidal. We had packed up our old home and moved in with her parents for support which we were very fortunate to have. Being out there was great for us however my daily commute went from a 2 minute drive to work to a 52 minute drive to work. One night I was doing a charity walk with some of my colleagues. 100km in 36 hours with a 25kg pack on our backs each. During this walk my fiancé started to send me concerning messages. We would talk on the phone every hour or so and I would just be checking in to make sure she was ok. Eventually, around midnight she told me she kissed the kids on the forehead and proceeded to over dose. I was 50km into the walk at this point. I waived down our safety vehicle that was driving behind us. Grabbed my colleagues phone that was driving the vehicle and rang the ambulance whilst calling my fiancé to try and get through to her. She would answer however she was fading in and out. Here I was, once again on the phone feeling completely helpless. Once I told the ambulance what was happening I called the home phone and her mum answered. Her mum got up and immediately started to try and get my fiancé to vomit the pills up. I arrived to the house about an hour later. My fiancé and I took the ambulance to the hospital and I sat with her all night to till the morning. Every so often she would come to and be so upset. Not because of what she had done, but because she was still alive. She wanted to be dead. Here I am, sitting in my sweat soaked clothing trying to calm her down. Once she fell asleep, I cried.
I’m lucky. I still have my fiancé and my baby girl. I apologise for the long rant
You can rant on anytime Matt, you and your family have been through so much. Sometimes when people fall on hard times it's like a process that your brain needs time just to go through and eliminate all the unnecessary things and it's only then that you think yes.. I'm not going to beat myself up so much about that because it was a normal thing at the time. Your wife just need to get to that point, to realise that she is perfectly normal, we analyse ourselves too much. Your daughter is a tough cookie too, like her Daddy.. Best of luck in all that you do. “You never know how strong you are, until strong is your only choice” ~ Bob Marley😘

Even tho im an cold hard Israli special forces veteran this story just cutted my soul so hard i couldn't hande myself. That was harsh.
I have no doubt that this guy could have completed the course, there's a reason most SAS / SBS members come from hard backgrounds or have experienced similar things in life. If you can overcome this level of hardship, you will have an unbreakable mind, which is essential for SAS selection
WINT3RT1ME I feel like the part where they get captured and are held for 24 hours he might of cracked as the noises they were made to here were kids crying really think that could of fucked him up.

Respect to this man, you know it deep when ant Middleton has his head in his hands, but this lad is a top bloke very strong mentally.
this man is a great example of how you can take something negative/bad/horrific and keep going, most would want to give up but to carry on and move forward is a great example of how to honour those we love and have unfortunately lost.
You can see him trying to surpress the questions. Not because he's not strong enough to talk about it, but I think because he didn't wanted the instructors to feel sorry for him. Tough tough man, been through something unthinkable. Wish him the utmost best.
