Joey has come across really well, he was let down badly by Lauren during the team challenge. He was literally carrying the entire weight at one stage, then she had the audacity to blame their shortcomings on him when his body gave out in the later stages. Yet, he didn't lose his temper. Hats off to him, hope he wins this, he deserves it.

@Mayhem 2.0 It's not her disability that let her down, it was her attitude. Let's not confuse the two, we should not speak poorly of her because she was born without an arm - that wasn't the problem here. From the start she had an issue with Joey, and refused to work with him. He tried his best but she sabotaged his efforts. All I can say is Joey came across as a gentleman, and his reserved demeanour is admirable, I truly hope he goes on to win.

Full credit to the guy, I hope he makes it to the very end.. I can understand his inability not to trust anyone as I've never been able to either, it can make this world a dark & lonely place!

got a lot of respect for him after seeing this finding out a lot of things I didn't know about him losing your mum at 10 and then growing up as a celebrity is hard for anyone to imagine completely changed my view on how I see him, to me he deserves to be a celebrity

Oh goodness. I can’t even begin to comprehend how difficult that must have been for Joey. 10 years old and his mum decided to end her own life. I used to judge Joey, I openly admit that, however, looking at clips of him like this, I really feel awful for doing that. He really shows his maturity and just himself in this. Joey, I sincerely apologise to you for judging you in the past, and I sincerely apologise for the fact you lost someone so precious as your mum so young. Sending love 💖 I hope you’re doing well! X

This show has shown the real Joey Essex for me. Other shows need to get him to stop playing the thick card because he really isn’t. I guess maybe now he’s grown up a lot since TOWIE days where probably bowed down to the producers and went along with whatever they said. Keep going Joey.

@Roxie Rocks Hmm possibly but i think a lot of it he chooses him to do himself, he's obviously smart though he's managed to become famous and make money just for being "Joey Essex" I agree with you this show is good for him to show a different side, he's coming across really well hard worker and team player, i think he will have an even bigger fanbase after this.

I had no idea about his life away from showbiz where he plays a lovable clown.
He's a lovable intelligent humble guy and done so well for himself.
I hope he wins the whole thing and I'll never be able to look at him for just his joker side again.
He's touched the heart of a nation and an absolute top bloke.
All the very bet from Scotland👍👍

I don't think he comes across as fake, always seems really likable and funny, also there's no way he is stupid someone who can get that famous and make money for just being "Joey Essex" has to be clever.

Poor lad. The character he is he is soooooooo funny to watch on the tele but it just goes to show that it’s not all smiles and laughs. Losing your mum is bad enough but losing your mum that way would leave you with loads of unanswered questions I guess. He’s a great guy and hope he finds some answers to the questions he may have. 💯👊🙏
