When you put your hand on jar while Phyl tasting, he looked like a toddler about to take off running when you ask them what is in their mouth lol. Looks like a win for you!
A trick I learned firefighting. When we change the bottle on our breathing apparatus it can be difficult to start the thread. (Just like your rings on the jar). So you can set it on the jar and turn it backwards gently and you will feel a click when the ring sets down in the right place. Than you can turn it in the right direction. It works every time.
You were not joking!! I canned this last Friday and holy cow is it amazing!!!! Trying to find more apples to make more for Christmas gifts. Thank you sooo much for sharing this.
You had me at caramel apple… I will be making this over the weekend. I’m so excited for Canuary. Until then, we have a wealth of Leisa’s many canning recipes. How lucky are we!!
I didn't have apples, but did have tons of pears...what we call "sand pears". They tend to be much firmer than other varieties and they held up very well in this recipe. I'd like to try the Caramel Apple Pie Jam when I have some "extra" apples; but for now, I'm loving your recipe and the Caramel PEAR Pie Jam I made from it. Thank you much!!
For some reason I only got like three pint jars, with one only lasting about two days so I am going to have to make about 100 more! OMG this is so good! 👍👍
Haha just made this while trying to keep a screaming parrot quiet. ( he wanted the apples). Got done with the 1 min boil and turned around to see the box of pectin sitting there. I added it in and brought it back up to a boil for another min. Hope this works cuz I only had 6 apples and one pissed off African grey! Lol
Oh my word this is absolutely wonderful! I got exactly 4 pints. I spooned a little over plain oats I had cooked in milk and I was in heaven wanting to lick the bowl! No one could have pried the bowl out of my hands if they had tried! I want to use it as "cinnamon roll" filling next! Thank you! I just love your videos! Always brings a smile and/or a chuckle 💜
I canned two days ago for the first time in 30 years. I canned this recipe and it turned out great!!! I doubled it and had 8 half pints. I was beyond excited when all 8 jars sealed!!!
Oh, my gosh! That looks delicious. Looks like Phil thought so too! Thanks so much for this video and Jar It Up January. Loving all the videos! Take care!
Hi, Poor Phil, 3rd video where you took the jar away from him ! Loving theses . It's apple season here soon. Plus your so dedicated you dumped it and lost some! Your a great lady!
Oh my, I so wish I would have run across this yesterday! I just canned apple pie filling. We had a bushel of apples to work through and needed to get them on shelf. THIS looks so yummy! Now I want to go and buy more apples. LOL, You are a bad influence with treats like this. LOL. Many thanks. I can see this being a new favorite for us!
Today I got some free apples from my Buy Nothing group. I think this is the third time I've made this jam. It is SO good. My favorite use is making my own Spiced Apple Yogurt.
You have just upped the jam game. 🤤 Can’t wait to try this in February when I can start spending money on the things coming in house again. Maybe you should do Jar it Up & the Pantry Challenge in two different months so your subs can follow these jar it up recipe’s right away. 😁
I have to make this I have a case of apples thank you for sharing his taste test convinced me. I won't eat as I am on keto been on 21 days lost 9 pounds.
OH MY GOODNESS!!! I made a batch this evening. Holy moly, it's utterly delicious!!! I think I'll need to take another trip out to the orchard to make more! Thank you, Leisa for sharing this decadent treat!
I just made your recipe for the Caramel apple pie jam. I got 3 and half pints out of the batch. I'm so glad I bought a lot of apples. I'm making some more, I can't let those apple go to waste (yeah, sure, lol). It's so darn good. I bought some vanilla ice cream and twisted my husband's arm to try then we fought over the rest of the bowl. Really, really good! Thanks for sharing.
I made this today. I added vanilla and gr clove to mine. It's the best jam I think I've ever made.. I love this stuff and will keep in stock for sure!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
The day I made peach jam, my husband said the same thing Yankee ain't got nothing on that smell. I used a different recipe when I tried the apple pie jam a few weeks ago, my husband put it over vanilla ice cream and loved it.
I absolutely love your videos and have learned so much. I only wish you'd add the recipe to the description so I could print it. I have memory issues so I have to watch them while I'm doing the canning. Making it hard to keep up or know what is expected next. Kudos on the awesomeness of your channel though. 🥰❤
I know this is a job for you but I really appreciate you spending the time to teach us this. I literally have my phone next to me follow you step by step LOL
Love making this jam my husband love this i put 2 tab of butter becouse my grandmother did now it cooling off going to make cinnamon rolls put the jam on top
Leisa!!!! I made this and let me tell you, my hub and his dad totally flipped out over this jam! Im about to make another batch! Love it! Thank you so much!
Gosh, the kids wanted some of this jam for their sleepover tonight and I since we were out I made more. This is everyone's new favorite ice-cream topping. Thanks so so much, again, for this one. 😁
Lol I'm with Phil that's how you do a taste test!😁 it looks really yummy... another one added to the list!!! Can't wait to crack one open for the kids this summer.... I got an ice cream maker and this will make a great topping!!!
I just made this today 😊❤ Mine wasn't as beautiful as yours. I used some fresh softer apples. They were very sweet tart and a free gift from my neighbors tree. It made 3 jars for me. ❤❤❤ Thank you so much for sharing 😊
I do a jam much like this but i use only 4 cups of whiter sugar, double the Cinnamon, and just a pinch of black pepper. I know the black pepper sounds odd but it is to little to notice the spicy heat but the pepper oil adds a warming mouth feel.
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I was looking at my bushel of apples and making a list of canning treats. I just added this to today's canning adventures. :)
That looks delicious I love caramel. But I can sit down and eat up a pint of that or a quart. I got to get the recipe to that and fix me some I've got a bunch of apples does it matter what kind of apples. I love everything you do I could watch you can for hours. Thank you so much for all of your time and all of the effort that you put in to show us how to do things like this again thank you so much. And I am so glad that Phil likes it you can tell he's enjoying that LOL
I just made this! and snuck a taste of the leftover sauce with an apple.. very good! somehow mine made 3 pints, not 4 tho. not because i ate the rest! lol.. i made note to double recipe for next time to make 6.. will def give for holiday this year 👍 thank you!
I so cannot wait to try this one. I wrote the recipe down on paper, it's easier for me to follow & I'll always have a hard copy. We just gathered more organic apples from our trees, now to decide apple butter or this. 🤔🤷♀️ maybe both lol
Ok, so I'm two years late on finding this... But... Now I have it written down and will be making it very soon (based on Phil's reaction alone, I know it'll be a hit). Thank you SO Much for all the recipes you show and share with us. 😁❤️
Oh yeah, I forgot to ask an important question I didn't see asked before in the comments I did read... Can this recipe be doubled or tripled, or does it have to be made a single batch at a time?
Hello, You have saved me and my family's lives. Are prepping and I am too I have been pregnant for 1 year now as of August the first I do have a stock pal that I am proud of and I will continue to do so I just want you to know that I want you every day I even go back. And watch your old videos. I've finally head enough to bag me. A pressure cooker and a water Bath canner. So excited about using I'll use email. I just want you to know, keep up the good work❤
I really love your channel! I’ve already watched dozens of your videos while I’m recovering. You’re a blessing! I know we would have probably been good friends if we were neighbors! I can’t wait to make this. Thank you! 😁

Mmmm, this will go really well in my homemade yogurt--sweet and tangy yum. Thanks :)
Thanks for that suggestion! I make my own homemade yogurt and now this will be a nice change to top on it!
I made it yesterday, I added apple pie spice 2 tablespoons when I added the sugars. It came out perfect. Thank you for the idea.

A friend suggested I make jams/jellies for a fund raiser. This looks fabulous and would be so good on pancakes.
Haha just made this while trying to keep a screaming parrot quiet. ( he wanted the apples). Got done with the 1 min boil and turned around to see the box of pectin sitting there. OH you are looking snazzy in that rocking apron and Phil knows HOW to do a true quality control testing!
I canned two days ago for the first time in 30 years. I canned this recipe and it turned out great!!! I doubled it and had 8 half pints. I was beyond excited when all 8 jars sealed!!!
I don't know if anyone suggested this yet, but what about on a bowl of oatmeal? Thanks for the video. I will try this soon.
or Overnight Oatmeal?
I ate it on my oatmeal, YUM!
I think that this might be something to add to my camping food list also. Portable, delicious and there is so many ways to utilize this in recipes.
