Poor Phil, he was enjoying that LOL. Tell him it's okay he can eat out of the jar since you said that jar was his Haha. I didn't think that I would like this recipe but in the end, I can't wait to try this. Thank you :)
Yes ma'am, have done that for many decades, a pinch of salt to the grounds will take the bitter out, not just coffee, but tea as well. I make my youngin's do the taste test.
Oh wow, this was a recipe that drew me to your channel! We just picked apples and I made an apple pie today and I will have to make this for sure. I seem to be the only one who eats jam around here very much, so I’ll have one for the shelf or as a gift!
anyone else love the look on his face when she told him no you really aren't supposed to eat it out of the jar like that. aww he looked so disappointed.... great video I will have to try it sometime even though we don't usually do coffee in the house I am sure it will still be amazing!
We grew up in FL and my grandmother used to put salt in the coffee. I remember the first time I tasted it! YUK! It left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended) and I have never tried it again!
2:25 I have learned to keep a bowl of ice water nearby when I make jam. If I get a splash of sugary hot stuff on me, I plunge my hand into the ice water before my skin is seriously damaged. (I think this is a tip I saw or read from Martha Stewart; at any rate it is not my original idea.) 8:26 Most jam recipes specify 1/4" headspace. Why do you need more for this type?
Hi, Was wondering 4 tbsp or 6 tbsp for the recipe of pectin ?, Thank you . Update I made the jam using 6 tablespoons. It turned out great! We love it. Thank you Lieasa!
OMGosh.........this sounds like one I must try. In the video you say 6 Tablespoons of pectin. In the written ingredients it says 4 Tablespoons... which is right. Thanks for sharing.........take care.
Sounds great while preparing and looking👀good while tasting the aftermath smelling licking👅good yum, yum, yum, all of it as i say tasty thank you again, keep more videos coming, lovin’it as your personality is wonderful, many thanks🥫😘
@@SuttonsDaze thank you for responding, I'm making jams for sales in my country and use your recipes as a guide.....thank you so much for them. I really want to try this for my coffee lover customers and friends.
Hmmmm the only coffee I drink is white coffee, tastes nothing like black coffee lol wonder if that would work for this since its a strong coffee and an espresso
Is the salt added for the sole purpose of reducing the bitterness of the coffee? We drink Kona coffee and it is not bitter at all. Should I leave the salt out? Thanks, I will definitely make this one, as my family and I loved the caramel apple pie jam so so much :)
Pretty much all coffee, tea, wines, some juices and such have something called tannins in them. In coffee and tea it can give off a bitter aftertaste but if Kona coffee is not bitter to you just leave it out. Its purely a taste thing. Also with coffees and teas, the older they are the more bitter that taste can become. Ever notice the difference in taste between ground coffee and coffee beans you grind yourself? That bitterness becomes more pronounced the staler they are.
This is what I typically purchase but they are currently out amzn.to/2AhxhCB This is an alternative. It's 5lbs instead of two but it breaks down to a good price amzn.to/2WJO6Ok
What about a shot of Kahlua in it? sounds good to me
Interesting combination . Looks like it should be entered in a county fair.

Will delicately make someone this.
Making this tonight! Have 2 bushels of apples and so tired of canning them the usual ways 😉 this recipe is exact what I need in my life!! Thanks!
Hope you enjoy
This is gorgeous! Going on my list!☕️🍎
Omgosh Phil's eyes when you asked him if he liked it
I think he was having a moment lol like that first sip of ☕in the morning
I have a bushel of Arkansas Blacks. Looking for recipes for these really hard tart apples
Lol, every time your timer beeper went off I thought " ah what do I have on the stove?". I've been canning away on quarantine
Phil definitely looked a bit sad when he gave the jar back, that's a very good sign. 😄
Yes Ma'am, especially when you do your coffee in a perk stove top, it does cut down on the bitter, and yes it was passed on down the ages and ages.
Lol he looked so sad when you took his jar away
I'm thinking maybe with the water bath cooking time the camel flavor emerges a little more. This looks like something I would love!!! Thank You.

Aww Phil wanted more😀
This sounds wonderful, I do make jams for gifting and think this one is special enough to give away.
Yummy! I could almost smell this jam.
I have made this already twice, this is now my super favorite- thank you, thank you, thank you

Poor Phil , you broke his heart having to give it back.. LOL bahaha!!
Those look fabulous and that combo sounds fantastic.
Oh my goodness! I am in love!!!! I am definitely going to have to make some of this!
This sounds amazing! Going to have to make it. Thanks for sharing!
On my to do list!
Looks delicious.
Looks good thanks
I add a pinch of salt to chicory coffee and also to tea. It cuts the bitterness in both.
A new use for leftover coffee ... rare but it happens
Beautiful jars leisa...poor Phil looked so disappointed when you took the jar away..lol.. sorry Phil.
This would be amazing on top of cinnamon ice cream. 😳😋
Or any icecream.
Oh My YUM!!
Looks delicious !!!!!
My grandfather always added salt to his coffee.
This looks amazing! I can’t wait to try it!
This looks SOOOOO Good!!! can't wait to try this one! :)
Poor Phill, he looked so disappointed cause he couldnt keep eating it
I’m making this tonight!!!
sounds awesome
Luv it❤️
Yumm
Poor Phil .......... 'sorry' ..LOL
I wonder if this would work as a pie filling? I would be trying this in the ball jam and jelly maker.
In my experience, Jam is much much sweeter than pie filling.
OMGosh.........this sounds like one I must try. In the video you say 6 Tablespoons of pectin. In the written ingredients it says 4 Tablespoons... which is right. Thanks for sharing.........take care.
I used 6 which is equal to a box
Wife going can this
You're going to love it
Since you have done Keto, have you made anything with Swerve or other sweetener?
Could you do an Apple pumpkin jam recipe?😁
Sounds great while preparing and looking👀good while tasting the aftermath smelling licking👅good yum, yum, yum, all of it as i say tasty thank you again, keep more videos coming, lovin’it as your personality is wonderful, many thanks🥫😘
Hello I'm new to canning can u make strawberry jam out of frozen strawberries ?.
Yes you can
I made this and messed up somehow, I will have to call it a syrup instead of a jam...my first fail 😭, but it is delicious and I will try again!
Would Apple Pie Spice do instead of straight up allspice?
Sure!
Thank you! ♥
Does it actually set???? Can I see a picture or video of what it looks like when it's all cooled down and pectin sets??????
It sets beautifully. No pic available, I'm out at the moment. Its hard to keep on the shelves

Was the pectin in the sugar?
A spoon. Lol!

# 3 son wants to know if vanilla extract can be added?
Sure!
Lisa, where do you find your bulk pectin?
amzn.to/2SU0g9h
Could this be made in half pints
Yes,
Where do you get your bulk pectin

@@SuttonsDaze thank you I am beginner and am really excited about making jelly and jams. I love watching your videos on canning.
Throw in a splash of brandy or bourbon... Just saying LoL .
Great video. The recipe sounded great right up til you said coffee(yuck).
