Oddly enough, I've been hearing this song in my dreams lately.
Maybe it means something.

Perhaps, and in my amateurism, I dare say it might mean that you have somewhat of a personal connection to the film or certain aspects of the story it tells, either the fictional or real one, and judging by the song, I'm guessing that it the meaning might probably relate to the relationship between Anastasia and the Empress Dowager, or your personal longing for the past.
That being said (and as I said before, I'm an amateur and not a dream interpreter), there might also be a hidden wish or fear that you might have without even knowing. Perhaps, a fear of being separated from a family member that you hold dear, as the Grand Duchess was with her grandmother when she was to leave, before the revolution. Perhaps, also, a fear of being either forgotten or neglected by the same people you hold dear as she was. Or a wish of disappearing from the world (your world, I mean, but NOT through death).
I'm not a dream interpreter, as I said before, and there is a strong possibility that I wrote nothing but nonsense. The only dreams I "interpret" are those of the people whose background I know.

This version of once upon a December and the original lyrics remind me of my fear of forgetting the past. It reminds me that I have a past and serves as a reminder not to forget. It reminds me things that have happened to me. I love this song with all of my heart and at times i feel like somehow i have a connection to the song as it gives me a tingly feeling EVERYTIME i listen to it or sing it.
My ex passed away ending our 10 year war with anorexia in surrender. It was a dauntless struggle, but this song, in its haunting clicks of sound, seems to bring back the memories of when she was that perfect girl again. Without the darkness and shadow. Thank you so much for letting me feel the auroras that dance in my heart. It makes my life livable again.

This is the perfect song to play on a music box, I can just picture a dramatic scene where this starts to play and she remembers her past
I scare myself, everytime i hear something like this while I'm asleep, i suddenly know how to dance the waltz. But the digure im always dancing with is basically a black silhouette...yet i seem so infatuated with them...almost as if my very being is based on giving them my utmost attention, then I'll wake up almost suddenly

A long while back, I watched this movie. I had no clue what the actual story-line was, and I still don't to this day. I remember a bat, I think, and I remember this song. Ma used to sing this to me as a lullaby, so it serves as a memory to better days, greener grass. I am not usual a teary person, but I think I'm 'boutta fuckin' bawl. She's still around, but medical issues make it a pain for her to do most things, and as such I'm worried that soon she won't remember me. I can't remember most things myself, yet this song invokes such nostalgia in me, despite remembering only two or three things about the movie.
...I want those old times back.
