This song haunted me my entire life ,and as a fellow vocalist, I absolutely adore her rendition of it.
Finding out recently that I have Russian blood helps me dicifer some of the puzzle pieces of my obsession with the Romavos and the beauty that is Russia and the countries to the west of it (my amazing husband has direct Nordic blood) since my childhood.
I believe, that in some way, all of our ancertries cry out within us in different ways. Lol, my closest companion( other than my husband) is my gorgeous Siberian Husky who ALWAYS knows when I'm feeling sick or am having a chronic illness flair up and she stands right beside me letting me put my head on her back and my arms around her with a since complain on her part.
Long story short, this song is somehow embedded into my very soul it seems💜

This has been a favorite movie (and song) of mine since I was five (im18) I used to put in my favorite dress and heels and dance around in my grandma's kitchen listening to this song and I would always end it just like Anastasia did, skirt flowing around me while I knelt on the ground.
