And there I go buying more gear ...
That german Dialekt shines quite through. But your English is more the Yellow of the egg like Lothar Matthäus. ;)
can I plug an fx send in instead of an amps speaker output?
The output is always an output
BassTheWorld.com lol....Nevermind.
you should try the mooer radar, really cool one
Dat bass player is so solid!
I don´t care what you are reviewing as long as Super (s)Lick René is presenting it ;-)
How does it sound using the built-in headphone output?
Is a bass cab simulation not just a fancy eq setting? Why would i need this outside of maybe a studio? And even there the benefit would be very little in my opinion.
No, it's not.
Let me explain:
If You examine the way your sound is generated You're going to come to the following conclusions (which all can be tested in a scientific setting using blind tests):
The most important components of your sound are (in that order) Your Hands (mostly Your right hand) The pickups (type and position on the bass) Your Amp and Your cabinet.
(don't let me start on the tonewood myth :) )
Every time one of the aforementioned components changes, Your sound is going to change also! Significantly that is.
The cabinet is a very important part of Your signal chain and in a perfect world, You're going to be miked to get the best sound (or even better mic + direct signal).
If now for any reason (too cramped stage maybe) You are not able to have a cab on stage the best alternative is a speaker simulation.
In the old days (Palmer comes to mind) some low(and maybe high) -pass filter was applied to get close to a cabinets frequency response but the modern approach with the availability of convolution algorithms yields (much)better sonic results.
Also: When using In-ear monitoring the sound of a signal chain with a cab simulation is way more pleasing than the direct signal of the bass or the line output of Your amp alone.
I hope that helps :)
@@theomitrentsis - very nice explanation.
Theofilos Mitrentsis watch warmouths video on body wood comparison. They did neck woods, fretboard, body, and fret material. Stainless frets and the body wood absolutely makes a difference. Alder is round and full across then frequencies. Swamp ash took off the upper frequencies and had a heightened lower mid. Machoany was the opposite of swamp ash. And they did the most scientific experiment they could, removed all possible variables and almost the entire comment section agreed with what I just said. Kind of interesting. Now this is nothing compared to hands pickups or even cable length but still tonewood matters
Can you do an in depth review for le bass?
I like it but it's not really a pedal. More studio kit unless you have a sound engineer for a gig. Le Bass sounds interesting.😎
300 bucks? ouch.. surely to get the most out of this you would need some sort of tablet anyway, so why not just DI into that and use an app?
You can access all the settings with the pedal knobs.
300 bucks is cheap in the high end pedal market...
That's the way I use wall of sound software vst3 with no pedal
Should do this vs HX Stomp
really like the stomp but i doesnt have an XLR out!!
Got the same thought. I want a small modeller with a xlr out.
DSM & Humboldt Simplifier Bass Amp/Cab Sim
I don't need a preamp
Great playing! What is the bass?
An Adamovic Saturn, hand built ergonomic bass brand from the Netherlands
Adamović and Supra! :)
Könnt ihr nicht auch mal ein Review vom LeBass Preamp machen, wenn ihr den schon habt?
Could you please also do a review of the LeBass so long you have it? Or write you opinion about it.
I heard so much good thing about the LeBass. Is it worth a review?
Anyone know how that compares to a Kemper?
Hi, what bass amps have the torpedo by default? Do you have to purchase them apart? Thanks in advance
Hi guys.
Is there any phase cancellation when we mix output from this pedal with the direct analog signal?
Because of delays in digital processing.
Delay in ADA conversion is not a problem, but direct and cab simulator could be out of phase.
Yes... But can you cook pasta with this pedal?
... Ehm... Ok.. It can.
Great review as always
Hei Gregor! Ich habe hier ne Frage.
Ist es möglich zwei CABs gleichzeitig zu benutzen? So nen 4x10er/1x15er Stack z. B?
The title of the video is 'Perfect Impulse Response Pedal' and they didn't actually show the impulse response loader function.
@1OF1Incorrect. They are actually using Two Notes' proprietary cab-simulation mode in this video (which includes a power amp sim, and now after the latest update to firmware - a pre-amp sim). It is NOT the IR. Sure the pedal can run IRs, but as I have pointed out in my comment, the title of the video and what they are actually demonstrating are two separate things.
No midi?
Yep no midi an
JOE DART! xD
Do you get any noise when running the power amp simulation? Mine is basically unusable when I have it on.
Make sure your IN LEVEL is at +12db, that saved me a lot of noise issues with this pedal. Ofc this could just not be your issue with the power amp simulation.
has anyone noticed an "hiss" background noise?
Yes
If i was running mono that would be on my board.
Those were some pretty sweet sounds.
Is that a Joe Dart bobblehead I see in the background?
I now need it in my life. Where do I get one?
2x15 Uber Alles!
Hallo Gregor,
Ist dieses Gerät auch gleichzeitig eine DI-Box ?
Und was hältst du vom neuem Gerät, (Torpedo X)
Danke schonmal !
Ja, es funktioniert natürlich auch als DI Box. Der Captor X ist ähnlich, aber kann zusätzlich die Lautstärke von Röhrenamps verringern, was erlaubt, sie weiter aufzudrehen. Ein Test ist für Juli geplant
Do you think this pedal can be connected to "One Control Mosquito Blender Trails" into send and return to mix between the pedal and the dry signal?
Sure, but then you can’t use it behind an amp
@@basstheworldofficial thanks for the answer! I have a noble amplifire on the pedalboard and I want to chain the torpedo to the "one control blender" and than from the blender to the noble so that both the clean signal and the torpedo are amplified by the noble and from there to the pa system. Does that sound like a good idea to you?
The bass world needed this thing! It's really great that is finally here!
What a great tone!!!
Gregor. What bass is that?
the first one? that's an Adamovic Saturn with Holly Top
So if I get it right using it with an amp but without a cabinet or a load is impossible... My idea would be to plug my bass into my Little Mark II , go from the amp into the pedal, use the cab simulation of it and from the pedal go into my audio device....
That’s not gonna work. The output has to go to some speakers or a resistor
@@basstheworldofficial Thanks for the quick answer. Isn't this a major limitation of the product then? I mean, if I wanto to use a cabinet simulator pedal I...must plug it into a cabinet (or at least a loadbox)...Doesn't make much sense to me, as the only reason I would buy this thing would be to replace the cabinet without having to necessarily buy a loadbox...
@@TheStarshipBand since you can use any preamp pedal, I don't see a reason to prefer the one in the littlemark2.
I have a Tubemeister 18 combo for guitar that has a power soaking function to turn off the cabinet.
My Mini Cmd121p combo with that littlemark2 head doesn't have that, so it would need a loadbox.
So it's a lack of feature from the littlemark2, not from the cabm.
@@mirak63 The reason would be that I...already have the LittleMark II and I'd like keep using it without having to buy a preamp that should necessarily have that power soaking function you said. Maybe I have misunderstood the purpose of the TwoNotes pedal
p.s. now that i'm thinking about it, what if I use the balanced line out of the LittleMark? Would a loadbox be necessary as well?
That bass tone at the begining and at 2.15 is easily the best bass tone I have heard!
Reminds me of Marcus Miller.
the effect box? ^^
@@matto9734 The bass tone in the beginning.
Definitely all those basses demos playing with palm mute technique.... Really not a good idea, notes are too short, strings are not singing, harmonics not there.
you need to listen to the whole demo
Why do you hide is hands on the slap lick ? xD
I'm sorry but...why?
Could you use this as a PreAmp to Headphones for practice purposes without involving an amp or a pc?
You'd need a preamp pedal, like the sansamp. Bet that'd be a sweet practice rig actually
I’ve used it without preamp. Works fine.
That point is not clear ... Torpedo, Wall of Sound, Preamp ?
this german english accent 😉
Gregor, check the Mooer Radar. Similar but 1/2 or 1/3 the size and weight.
Does the Cab m have its own bass preamps?
or use logic plugins
Lack of a blend knob for the dry signal is a major (inexcusable?) oversight.
Digital (pre) amps: airless = lifeless. Boring sounds.
What do you suggest better if you want to play or record silently ?
dsm noisemaker omnicabsim is analog and is fully tweakable with actual knob I will probably buy this one instead
DSM & Humboldt Simplifier Bass Amp/Cab Sim
Great review. Can you confirm that it works with 9 volts?
It does!
@@basstheworldofficial Thanks
It does buuuuut, i would still use the 12v on it
