I love my Kobo libra color. Did a switch from Kindle and have not looked back. Easier way to adjust the brightness is to move your finger up or down on de side of the screen close to the bezel.
I’m trying to disconnect myself from Amazon as much as possible, but I love my kindle. I decided to go with the Kobo Libra Color and I’m very grateful for your videos to help me with this transition.
I have also moved away from Amazon. By replacing my Kindle with a Kobo, not only am I not supporting Amazon, but it turns out that I like the Kobo much better.
I found that I was having a bunch of “palm” issues when I have the pinch to size activated. Much better when turned off. Thanks for another Libra colour video. Lots of ereaders at home, this is my favourite.
Thanks for the tip on the pinch to size issue. I was having "palm" issues with my SuperNote, and you got me thinking about which settings to change to address that. Super helpful!!
I got a Kobo Libra Colour few weeks back, and I love it so much! Of course, I'm still using Kindle, but I can confidently say that my main device is now Kobo. The page-turning buttons are awesome and, the easy way to change brightness (sliding up and down on the left side, as you mentioned in another video) is a game changer for me. Your videos definitely helped me to set it all up, including adding a custom font (I'm also a Bookerly girl♥) Thanks for all you do is I can't wait for another extensive video on Kobo!
How can a clock be posted while I am reading on my Kobo reader. I see it when I open the ereader where all the books are but not while I am reading a book. I can do this on my Kindle but not on my Kobo Libra Colour. Can this be done?
There's supposedly an app called NickelClock that you can load into your Kobo to do this. I haven't tried it, but I've read that lots of people like it.
Annotation questions: 1. Is there a way to export notes and highlights (and any other writing on the screen) like Kindle does to share these to the user in an email??? 2. will these annotations sync with the Kobo app like Kindle?
I am ABSOLUTELY not trying to convince you to get the Colorsoft, but have you looked at the page turners that clip onto the side of the device? It's not page turn buttons, and it only turns pages in one direction, but it is a workaround for the Kindle not having buttons.
Thank you for the video 😊 I appreciate any length of them, it’s very useful. I was wondering about the My Words feature, glad you touched on that here. This is my first ereader and I’m enjoying it sooo much. I am a big library user, what do you think about the mark ups and highlights when you return a borrowed book? I usually like the return to my favorites and go through my highlights when I used to read on my phone or tablet and I’d always find them. This time around I wanted to test it out and they were gone, maybe I needed to sync or something? I connected it to my laptop and saw my markups there as images.. and when I disconnected it I saw them back on my book. Idk if that’s how it will be with all my library books going forward. Still learning 😊 One more question I have is, can we listen to audiobooks we borrow from Libby? I found I couldn’t listen to one of my Libby audiobooks, maybe I’m not doing something right. If we can’t that’s fine. I don’t mind listening to audiobooks on my phone.
The highlights might be a sync issue -- I'm not sure exactly how that works with library books on Kobos. I know that on Kindles, the highlights come back if you return the book and then download it again by either buying it or checking it out again. Kobos do NOT support Libby audiobooks or magazines. I need to remember to mention that if I do another Kobo video. Thank you for mentioning it.
I ran into a problem: I have put the fonts from my computer into the fonts folder, but they don't show in the Kobo after ejecting it. One guy I asked said I have to install KOReader first (which a) I doubt and b) I'm reluctant to install KOReader on a brand new device until I fully understand that software). Any ideas what went wrong? Halp~~
I just did it to make sure that I'm not nuts and that it works . . . I just added a really obnoxious font to my Kobo. 😂 So . . . I don't know what the issue is, but I have a couple of suggestions. I don't remember if I had to create the "Fonts" folder in my Kobo or if it was already there. If you had to create the folder, make sure that it is called "fonts" with an s, not "font", or Kobo won't find it. Also, try dragging the font files (each font usually has 4) into the fonts folder individually instead of in a folder. I am able to drag them in in a folder, but I think I have to do them individually on my Kindle. OH!! And make sure that you're using compatible font types. For Kobo, I think they're .otf and .ttf. I hope this helps! Happy reading!
@@fitdaniellereads I suspected that I'd accidentally created unnecessary folders, so I started over and now all the fonts are showing in the pull-down menu including Bookerly. It really was that simple. Duh~~! While I was at it, I added some custom screensavers with Canva following Katarina Mogus' video which is a breeze. I haven't seen anyone do a dedicated walkthrough of Kobo Utilities on Calibre so far. Is that something you'd consider making a video about? Thank you very much for what you do. I enjoy your videos.
I had an older Paperwhite and loved it. Unfortunately it was lost on a business trip. I would love something a tad bigger but not huge and the Oasis seems about perfect size for my needs. However, it annoys me that it has not been updated in so long that the experience is so much better on the newer paperwhites with lighting and such. I just know that if I were to buy one, that would be the very moment they would then launch a new model right after I did. Once I do get an ereader again, I am much more interested in using library more. I do have a ton of audible books but I tend to prefer to use my phone for those anyway, so I am not massively locked into Kindle store so far. Really the only feature that would be a bummer not to have is the interconnection with Goodreads for quotes and such. Lot's of words to get to my question. I am considering the Kobo Sage. Any thoughts on that device and also how is the Robo Rakuten store these days if I do want to purchase a book easily and smoothly? From the surface it seems to have come a long ways?
My only hands-on experience with a Kobo is the Libre 2, so I can't speak to the Sage, but I can tell you that purchasing books and borrowing books on the Libre is seamless. The first time I bought a book on the Libre, it was so fast that I thought I had done something wrong. 😂 I kept waiting for it to download, and it was long done.

Oh yeah!! Thanks for the reminder of the slide up and down short cut!! I forgot all about that.

Fantastic!! I’m so glad that this was helpful. Thank you for your kind comments.
Question - when you export to your Google drive, which file type do you choose?
Love this video just got mine this week!
Thanks!! And good for you! Happy reading!!

Thank you for your kind words! I'm so glad that my videos have helped you. We Bookerly girls have to stick together!! 🤗
Can you make the text shaper when reading comics on the kobo color?
Thanks. Just started swapping from Kindle to Kob, and I love it
Good for you!!
I love Dani’s videos! You can see why she is such a great teacher. They didn’t have teachers who look like that when I was a kid. 😆 ❤
Thank you, Dave!! 😍🤗
What am I doing wrong cant seem to add the fonts I made a folder and nothing happens when I connect my Kobo?
I finally left B&N Nook in the dust and went to a Kobo Libra Colour…zero regrets at all. I love it.
Good for you!!
Thank you for this video :)
Thank you for watching!

Hey Danielle !, I'm a Paperwhite kind of man myself but I've been known to walk on the wild side. 😅
😂
Not a Libra 2.
Thank you for pointing this out! I was honestly not trying to be click-baity, I was just wrong.
