I would 100% love a video from you on how to sort and use Calibre. I use it now, but I never knew you could change the display covers! I also need to make better use of the searching function; I have 2500+ books on it, and finding something to read can be a pain. I also recommend the special Kobo pen. I love it. I actually bought a backup, and as broke as I am, that's saying something. I NEED it for my academic books and my translation work, but it's also just such a pleasure to have.
The first Kindles did have buttons. I still use mine and the buttons are so necessary for me. I’ve had this though for 14 years so I’m thinking of a new Kobo 😊
Oh I watched your video with all the ereaders a few weeks ago; I got the Kobo Libra Color and I love it. I found Calibre easy to setup and use and have started transferring books from my Kindle library. Im in Canada and love the Overdrive integration. Nice video!
My Kindle Fire tablet just isn’t working for so many reasons and I never use it to read anymore so this is a great look at the Kobo as a future option! Thank you for sharing 😄
Being left handed I really appreciated the screen rotation so I could use the buttons with my dominate hand. The only down side I find with my new Kobo Libra 2 colour is the official Kobo sleep cover I purchased at Indigo when I bought my Kobo. My older older black and white Clara's sleepcover could be folded back and with the magnet it would stick the front cover to the back and stay in position. My Libra's sleepcover when folded back the magnet sticks the front of the cover to the back but puts my Libra to sleep. The cover for my Libra unlike my Clara's sleepcover also allows the ebook to slide in and out very easily when the cover is open so if I'm not careful the Kobo falls out.
The left-handedness is a great thing to note! Interesting about the cover, I don't think I'm going to buy one but if I do I'll definitely look into this more!
Yes, I think the Clara is pretty much the same as the Libra, just without the buttons. And I (surprisingly) have barely used Overdrive yet, I'm sure once I clear out some of my owned ebooks I'll start using the library books more!
This was so interesting to watch! I actually got a Kindle as I liked the amount of options on KU and it's also small (I got the recent ones that are £100 instead of the colour) which is useful for my small hands! 😊 I have also been enjoying it so far as well! 😊
I do hope to get a Kindle in the near-ish future as well, I have many books I've purchased from Amazon over the years. I've been debating between the Paperwhite (which I've had before) or just the basic one to save some money, and I believe it's smaller, which would be nice for fitting in the purse.
I have the kobo libra 2 Black&White and love it I also highly recommend getting koboplus everyone says there is not allot on there but i see allot of popular books on there I have the 12.99 euro one that has both unlimited ebooks aswell as audiobooks that way if i only read one audiobook it's already saving money because most audiobooks cost above 12.99 and having the audiobook option also makes me wanne go for walks do some chores and still enjoy a book while doing it Hope you have a great reading year 😊
Hey Chantel! I already have a Libra 2 but you convinced r to get the Colour Libra! I got a deal on it, the case, and the pencil. I used my PC Points online at Shoppers Drug Mart this weekend. They had a points event where I got $300 using 200,000 points! I’ve been saving them for just this time for a Kobo Colour! I really enjoyed this video btw! I would love to see how you upload books from your computer and make new covers!
I have gotten a new kobo but it the smaller version it also has color as when I bought it it was on sale for the same price as the b&w one so I thought why not have color! I love it so far it doesn’t have the buttons or the side thing but it fits perfectly in my purse and is so transportable it’s great! I would love to know how you do the cover thing and the ebook thing!
Wait, do you also know you can toggle on a setting to adjust brightness by swiping up and down on the left edge of the screen? It makes it so easy to adjust it while reading vs going into settings! 🎉
I used Caliber years ago, but it wasn't easy to do. Mind you that was over 20 years ago, so I would love to see how to download and use it these days. I didn't know it still existed.😂
You influenced me and I got one for Christmas! Super eager to start reading on it. Now that you’ve made me get one you must show me how to use Caliber…Calibre? Not sure how it’s spelled lol
@ so far just playing around with the features and holding it…I’m in love with it! I think I’m going to enjoy it so much more than the kindle. I struggle with pain in my hands and wrists. So, the lightweight feel is awesome! Almost unbelievable how lightweight it is with what it can do.
I got the Meta Pen which was like 1/3 the price of Kobo's pen and works the same! (The only difference is the highlight and erase functions are reversed.) I haven't played much with writing notes or changing font sizes to see what happens, but I still love having the pen for highlights!
You can't transfer Kindle books onto a Kobo. That's the annoying things about ebooks in general, they are usually device specific. I strongly feel like if you buy an ebook you should be able to read it on any device but that's not how it works, unfortunately.
Chantel, can I ask what you mostly read on your kobo? For example, do you use it mainly for library books or do you read a lot from what kobo offers? Also, do you feel like kobo has plenty to offer as far as good books (despite amazon having a larger digital library)? I hope that makes sense? Thanks for the video!!
Hey i just wanted to ask you how long does your battery last?mine only lasts for like 3 days and i was just wondering if its normal i use 4hours a day sometimes 5 hours and on 20%brightness,it goes down very fast

That would be hard to search through so many books!
My old Kindle is still chugging away - I wish it could display the book cover in sleep mode, that is such a great feature!
That's been working for you for many years, what a great investment!
Would love a calibre video 😊
That’s one thing I wish I had for kindle was buttons!
Right there with you!
The first Kindles did have buttons. I still use mine and the buttons are so necessary for me. I’ve had this though for 14 years so I’m thinking of a new Kobo 😊
To change brightness, you can just scroll your finger on the far left side up and down on the screen.🎉
Yes, if you have that toggled on, I've turned mine off because it's too easy for me to change the brightness accidentally. 😊
Oh I watched your video with all the ereaders a few weeks ago; I got the Kobo Libra Color and I love it. I found Calibre easy to setup and use and have started transferring books from my Kindle library. Im in Canada and love the Overdrive integration. Nice video!
Wahoo, glad you are loving yours too!
My Kindle Fire tablet just isn’t working for so many reasons and I never use it to read anymore so this is a great look at the Kobo as a future option! Thank you for sharing 😄
I hear you, I was so over reading on mine!

I have the kindle color soft and the kobo color libra
Would love to see a video on the caliber (spelling?) lol
The Clera also has the overdrive from the library

@ChantelReadsAllDay Yeah the small one is great for me! Good luck on deciding which one to get! 😊
I have the kobo libra 2 Black&White and love it

That's great to hear about Kobo Plus!
Yes how do you put the books on and what is caliber?
I have the Kobo Clera Color and love it

@ It came today! I LOVE seeing all my covers in colour!
@@pjlacey3990 Yay, so much fun!

I turned that setting off because I tend to bump the screen and don't want it changing on me when I don't want it to. 😊
I used Caliber years ago, but it wasn't easy to do. Mind you that was over 20 years ago, so I would love to see how to download and use it these days. I didn't know it still existed.😂
I'm sure it can do a lot more than I use it for but I mainly just use it for covers.
You influenced me and I got one for Christmas! Super eager to start reading on it. Now that you’ve made me get one you must show me how to use Caliber…Calibre? Not sure how it’s spelled lol
Yay, I hope you enjoy it as much I have! I'll have to do a Calibre video soon!
@ so far just playing around with the features and holding it…I’m in love with it! I think I’m going to enjoy it so much more than the kindle. I struggle with pain in my hands and wrists. So, the lightweight feel is awesome! Almost unbelievable how lightweight it is with what it can do.

I'll check into the Meta Pen, thanks for the recommendation!
If you have a large kindle library do those books transfer easily?
You can't transfer Kindle books onto a Kobo. That's the annoying things about ebooks in general, they are usually device specific. I strongly feel like if you buy an ebook you should be able to read it on any device but that's not how it works, unfortunately.
@ Thank you so much for answering this question. I agree once you pay for the book it should be yours to transfer anywhere. :(

Hey i just wanted to ask you how long does your battery last?mine only lasts for like 3 days and i was just wondering if its normal i use 4hours a day sometimes 5 hours and on 20%brightness,it goes down very fast
I mentioned the battery usage a bit in the video, if I had to guess I'd say it lasts for about 40-50 hours of usage.
You can buy a another kind of pen for it that is cheaper
I'm definitely going to look into that!
