Not only did I learn more about resin casting in your video but I've finally found the proper way to blend my mold putty! Your video was amazing, thank you for sharing your wisdom with me :)
Really great session! :) I especially love that you mention respecting copyrighted designs... a lot of people seem to think it doesn't apply outside of music/movies/traditional art.
This was seriously one of the best tutorials I've ever watched! I want to start working with resin and this really talked about all the basics and it looks like a lot of fun.
I've been wanting to expand my knowledge on using ice resin in this manner. You are a very thorough teacher and I'm pleased that you uploaded this tutorial and that I came across it. It's very informative and easy to follow! I'll be re-watching it many more times in the future. Thank you! :)
Excellent class - thank you! I'd love to see you explore Marilyn's suggestion about putting the pieces together. I think I understand what she means, but seeing it would be so much better! I'm so glad you explained the details of working with different colors and inclusions - it really helped me understand what to look for, and how to experiment!
AMAZING tutorial - thank you so much for taking the time to make this for free. It is so appreciated :) I am a new Beaducation customer and your tutorials led me to your site!
I found this tutorial very thorough, professional, helpful & understandable. Great job!!! I appreciate your hard work & dedication. You've given a lot of us useful information & I'm sure you've given a lot more people (like me) the courage to try a new & beautiful art form!!! Thank You so much for all the help. You deserve so much credit for this!!! I'm a new fan!!! Now, I'm off to watch more of your videos!!! Thumbs UP!!!! =) Alanna
Superb lesson video. You covered so much in that span of time, being concise while at the same time covering the learning curves very well. Thank you so much
Really nice tutorial. Very explaind n discribed well. I get so many answers of my questions about using rasin. One more time i would like to say very nice n useful tutorial..
this was amazing, i should have gone tobed 2 hours ago! amazing it was!!! i would love to try but i need to go over it all 50 times, but was very clear and amazing!!!!! thank you very much.
I never had problems getting my piece out of plastic molds. I don't use mold release either. Never had to cut any plastic mold and I actually prefer them to silicone. My silicone molds are like magnets to lint and cat fur. No matter how often I wash them I will always have pieces with lint and cat fur on the bottom. Never happens with plastic molds, I just blow on them before I use them. And high shine plastic molds are much easier and cheaper to get than high shine silicone molds. But that's just my two cents.
At 30:46 of the video I noticed a piece that had a gemstone on top. Is it a total inclusion or is the gem showing on the top? I have a lot of gemstones and want to have them in the piece where it is pushed just to the girdle. HELP!
That one looks like it was glued on after the mold was cast/dry. Which you can do with a strong glue like Epoxy. But you can certainly use it as an inclusion which would be super cute as well.
The information was great but would have loved to see one of the pieces you were sanding etc. as a finished piece. I was hoping you might have shown the bee. : (
Hiya, I have molds that are not silicone and before you cut it up try putting the resin you are ready to pop out in the freezer for about 5mins and the resin should pop out - this doesnt work on all of them though.
Could the mixture for the test piece that cured really rubbery be used as a mold material? Or would fresh resin end up sticking to cured rubbery resin.... Would LOVE to know !
Hello! It would depend on the resin you choose to use, and if you could find a anti-stick method. We would just recommend playing around! Have a great day!
As far as the hard candy molds, u can use a mold release spray. Or a thin layer of baby oil n wipe out most of it. Or even Vaseline. Don't ruin any molds ever. If it still dont come out after treating ur molds, then let it sit for a few more hours to cure. That should b it! Hav fun
+Carol Cheung Hi Carol! You can find the resin on our website. Here's a link that will take you directly to the category, www.beaducation.com/product_categories/137-resin-supplies Have a great day!
I don't think you mentioned that you can get a more accurate mold of a 2 sided object, by doing the mold in one piece, but separating the 2 halves with a grease like Vaseline.
Adding hardner, doesn't offset the 1:1 ratio of resin. Sorry not really comprehending the mixture. So what I'm guessing is that the liquid color would be considered resin?
Hi there. To be honest, we shot this class a long time ago and no longer are in touch with the instructor so I am not able to answer your question. We left the class up cause it's got a lot of great content but I am not sure how to answer your specific question.
I know it was probably a mistake, but I laughed way too much when you said cyan pepper. Also, inks work fantastically in resins without you having to compromise the quality too much.

I just found your videos (this one is my 1st) and omg thank you so much for doing these!!!
Really learned alot, can't wait to get started. I know one of my biggest challenges will be patience, wish me luck.
great information, loved the parts about using your own designs, and the health and safety aspects.

Thanks so much for all the information!!! Wonderful!!
I have noticed that you cannot get a shiny piece from a silicone mold. If it's not plastic it will be cloudy.

AntagonisticApathy sorry, I have not tried those.
+Beaducation I'm using the fantasy paints and they have a beautiful effect, especially if you like a honeycomb effect. It is really magical.
This are all beautiful

I'm wondering about the end result of stickiness
