Just started going down the resin rabbit hole. Loving it. Great video. Really informative. Great trick to stretch the mould a little to get all the detail. Love your accent and your enthusiasm ❤
Ditto it would make everything a lot easier. Especially if it comes with a little guide to tell you what each one is best for. Actually we need it in a kit.
I'm actually surprised that with that pink mold that you were able to get it to come out as well as it did since with most UV resin you have to use a clear mold so that's pretty impressive.
I wanted to just comment and say you're hands down my favorite UA-cam resin creator. I met another lady who does resin at an event and we bonded a bit over our love of your channel!!
You have made me spend more money on stuff I never thought any man should buy than anyone else on youtube. I'm now addicted to resin, and of course, now I have to go buy UV resin too. Not sure if I'm thanking you or cursing you. Brilliant either way.
Thanks for this! I ordered the 3 bottle box of the high viscosity after you said that it was thicker! LOVE IT! I use it to dome my resin and acrylic keychains after adding vinyl. Works a treat!
I love your video’s! You have a natural cheerful voice and I watch at the end of my rough days! You cheer me right up. Thank you for the positivity you project. Have a blessed day.
Thank you for taking the time to explain and show us the differences and uses for these. I’ve always been confused about the need to buy different types but now realise I really need the high viscosity for doming jewellery- I’ve ruined so many pieces in the past because I kept making a mess of it. This will definitely help in future 😊
I absolutely love all your videos! I did notice your UV light's got an exposed wire right at the base of the light. I wasn't sure if you were aware of it. 😁
Hi, Steve! I've been watching your channel for a couple months now. You are so inspiring and always brighten my day. I love how you show your less successful experiments as well as the hits...you make it easier for me to make my "3D sketches," as I call them. :) Anyway, thanks so much for being you, and if you ever come out to Chicago, I'd love to grab a bev and talk art!
Steve, thank you for all the testing you do and your videos. I learn so much from you. I can't wait to try these. Wish they had a kit where you could buy all them.
So this is why whenever I try to dome, it runs all over! So glad I watched this. I guess I've been using the new formula for everything...only been doing this for about a month. Thanks so much!
Steve, thank you for this video. I'm new to resining & I didn't know there is different kinds of resin. Also you proved other info wrong. The articles I read about UV resin said it can only be used in a clear, the white kind, silicone molds. Then you make a flower in the solid color mold using the UV resin. Thank you!
This was unbelievably helpful!! I've been having the hardest time when buying jdiction resin picking which one and it's not clearly explained on the website. You literally answered all the questions I had and appreciate you so very much!!!!
Great info. I’m still having curing issues. I just got a new lamp hoping that solves the problem. I do these things right along with you and don’t get a cure. Thank you for all that you do !!
Won't use any other UV Resin than JDiction, the smell is so much lower than others, and the jewelry pieces come out so clear and wonderful. Thank you for explaining these, because I am about in need of new bottles and with my new studio, I have plans for things to spruce it up as well
Their original formula does not have much of a smell, but I recently tested out the low viscosity formula and it indeed does have a smell to it that is different than their original, and also it was not as low viscosity as I would have thought... it was more of a medium viscosity... I also experienced a bit of yellowing after a two-minute cure on a test piece which went into my window and was significantly more yellow after only 30 days... I have test pieces from my resin that I typically use that is a year old now and still crystal clear, so I wasn't significantly happy with J dictions low viscosity formula it seems the formulation is different somehow.
Thank you for this video. It gives such great information and I would imagine there are different price points. Love that high viscosity for doming. Have a thing for doming.
I love your channel Steve I live in New zealand, where resin is really expensive Amazon charges import tax, which makes it even more expensive. JD seems a great brand! I love resin work but is it is so expensive here,my interest is wanning I do enjoy your channel though, you are so down to earth and easy to follow Thank you!
I absolutely love your channel and all of your videos. You are my go to for everything Resin. Thank you so much!! I'd love to see your video on how you made the rings you showed but I can't find it.
I tried several UV resins but did NOT like them. You convinced me to try the JDiction and I am absolutely sold. Thank you for encouraging and educating me.
Hi 👋🏻, I absolutely love your channel. I noticed your electrical wires seem to be sticking out of your light. Please check it so you don’t get shocked. Thanks for all the information you share.
I'm new to resin and originally wanted it to dome my cricut projects. I have the original formula and wondered why it was flat and not doming like others I see. Never knew there was different viscosities.
I have GOT to get some of these low and high viscosity resins from JDiction! It's the only UV resin I use, anyway. Doming can be such a chore when it insists on running over the edge no matter the care taken - ugh! I've ruined SO many pieces that way. 😥 Thanks so much for the demo, Steve! 😊💕
Thanks Steve, as usual a really informative video. This has helped me a lot as I am new to UV resin (I usually use Jesmonite and Resincrete and I am starting projects using both resin and eco pours) Keep up the awesome work x
Thank you for showing this. I didn't even realize that they had so many UV resins. I just got some labeled "ECO" from Amazon and I'm loving it. It is the lowest odor UV resin I've tried, and it cures so fast and hard! But it's a little thin, so I will look for the high viscosity one, too.
The "ECO" must be the same as the "New Formula" one you showed. I have a sensitivity too, and I can use this one in very small amount with just the exhaust vent!
I have a couple of these, the classic and the high viscosity. When I bought them I also bought a uv torch. I’ve had my pieces cure for more than 10 minutes and they’re still sticky. Same brand. Even used the same uv thing as you.
Try a 36 watt nail lamp, not a 9 watt LED lamp, they say there's no difference, but I believe there is - and don't forget, sometimes you need to turn the item over and cure from the back and also, UV likes to cure in thin layers, try more thin layers instead of one thick layer. Also, room temp, UV likes it warm like at least 74-75 degrees. Best of Luck.
If you have two UV resins, neither of them can be cured. It may be that the wavelength of your UV lamp is not enough, resulting in lacking energy for it to cure. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our after-sales mailbox, customer support will give you an effective solution.
You came across my resin channels today! I have the same little UV light. They're cheap, get a new one before you hurt yourself lol jk. Question, I've been doing resin for 2 years on and off to start a small business and compile enough for a start up. No matter what mold I use, the resin is foggy on the underside (mold side) and I haven't gotten the right buffing tool yet for polishing. I really don't want to blame it on the resin as I'm using a super spendy one (not promoting but you can find it by initials TB) and follow another channel who never seems to have any problems with it. I stir it enough, cure it the right amount, not too hot or cold, no bubbles. 😭 New subscriber here. 😊
Hi Steve, Would you Please put up the link for your ring video. I'm sorry, I can't seem to find it. But then sometimes something will be right in front of me & I don't see it. LOL Thank you so much for sharing. I was confused on these resins. So, now I know, you do a wonderful job at teaching. I know because I've learned a lot from watching you. Thank you again.
Hi Raquel from Puerto Rico where can I buy the resins I am a beginner which should i try first i would like to make jewelry i do make wire jewelry also the rings you said to go to the video can you please tell me where to see it thank you i think you are great I like how you explain things once again thank you for sharing
I have just started this craft and I’m finding it great but I made a coaster holder and I have a little sticky patch is there anything I can do about it or is it not a fix
I am super new to UV resin and learning so much from your videos! Do you know if JDICTION's high gloss resin is really any different? Resin is already so shiny when cured
Hello Steve, I love your channel and talent. I have learned a lot from you! But I noticed that you curing lamp has exposed wires where the electrical plug goes into the lamp. I would advise you to wrap that with black electrical tape, or it might spark and cause a shock or fire, a small one, but either wrap or replace. Keep up the great work!!!
I just wanted to know if there is any way to clean fingerprints and smudge marks caused by touching the cured uv resin piece... My jewellery turns matte when i touch it and the smudge just doesn't go away... I cure my pieces completely, they are hard and clear but get matte once i touch them 😢
Was looking for some advice, and if my art project gives you idea's for content or things to sale, fantastic. I was using one of those square something like 8 inches, where i do art projects, its not safe to use normal resin (its a work shop, others are there for different lengths of time), so i am using uv, i just did a light tint of blue acrylic transparent paint, i don't want a thick piece (yet), so i put under the lamp, besides warping (thats simple fix, heat weight it down, wait fix), but it stuck to the mold on one side, and pitted and did some other things on the top, was thinking to sand it down, but was hoping you might have a video on how to not have this happen. and or fix this so both sides are shiny. i plan taping the edges just a mm ( the edge is so i can attach to a frame after.), or so, with tape, spay mirror effect spray paint on one side, and using your tip on putting uv resin in a needle bottle, and doing a darker shade of the tint, I am then filling in with different shade of complementary colors. Another project is similar just doing a layered picture, layers of uv resin, and still the mirror effect spray paint on back, either way, both sides need to be nice and shiny. Thank you, and i understand if me asking for help like this is a bit much.
Thank you so much for explaining the difference. Wish they came in a group of one of each but for now will get them separate. I wanted the emoji sequins as well but when you click on the link that is not what's coming up. Is it another link for those? Thank you

Great video.
Really informative.
Great trick to stretch the mould a little to get all the detail.
Love your accent and your enthusiasm ❤
I wish I could get small bottles of all of them in a kit!
Amazing idea!!!
I was just thinking that.
That would be awesome ❤️🇦🇺
Ditto it would make everything a lot easier.
Especially if it comes with a little guide to tell you what each one is best for.
Actually we need it in a kit.
That's exactly what I was thinking.

Low viscosity resin ... I had no idea. Thanks!
Am I the only one who wants to reach through & grab his LED light to give it a scrub down with the alcohol ❣️
It is pretty messy
I absolutely love all your videos! I did notice your UV light's got an exposed wire right at the base of the light. I wasn't sure if you were aware of it. 😁
Hi, Dr. Mc. I watched this and then came back and watched it again, taking notes this time. Thank you so very much!
Need to collect all of these right tool for each job, thanks Steve x
Thank you! That was very helpful. I wasn't sure what the differences were between them all.
Hi, Steve! I've been watching your channel for a couple months now. You are so inspiring and always brighten my day. I am buying every single one as have the classic but the low and high viscosity looks amazing
Just ordered the LV and the HV resins I also ordered the Jdiction and Steve Mcdonald bundle. I can't wait to get everything
Thanx for the great information! I love it when you just try anything. 💃🏼💃🏼
Thank you so kindly Steve. Wonderful video explaining the different types.
This is invaluable info! I just purchased some of the high viscosity UV resin…but was confused about the other versions. Thank you!
Steve, thank you for all the testing you do and your videos. I learn so much from you. I can't wait to try these. Wish they had a kit where you could buy all them.
We will consider to add this kit to the market!
So so helpful. Thank you for this Steve 🤓

I just had to say that my grandkids say 👋. They say you are that funny guy who always asks for coffee.
Many blessings
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts Anyone's cool that calls himself a nincompoop! LOL
Thank you this was VERY helpful as I'm working on my very FIRST resin project.
Thank you Steve. I was told the molds for UV had to be clear.

Thank you for another fab video, didn't know there was different UV resins!
Thank you for sharing this, I'm going to get the three new ones.
Great info. I’m still having curing issues. I just got a new lamp hoping that solves the problem. I do these things right along with you and don’t get a cure. Thank you for all that you do !!

i agree with you on the jdiction.....only one i will use also...always clear...never sticky...
I have used the original and a soft resin, now I have to try out the high viscosity. I think I need a package with all of them. 😆
Thank you for this video.
It gives such great information and I would imagine there are different price points.
Love that high viscosity for doming. Have a thing for doming.
Very useful! I’m just starting and this was very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the information!! I learn so much from you!!
Great information. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 🤗
Wow, I am so glad to have this clarified for me, ty. Plus check the wire on you up lamp, it is looking a bit dangerous!
I love your channel Steve
I live in New zealand, where resin is really expensive

JD seems a great brand!

Wow great info I had zero clue! You're always so helpful thank you for sharing your knowledge!
You are so right I tried that and that’s what happened to me 😮
great stuff. I've got the high viscosity one since I saw you showing it off. it's really great for doming.

Awesome Video steve McDonald
Oh Steve, I stopped following you from guilt as I had to stop being a supporter. But my my, I've resubscribe as you're just fab. ❤
I'm new to resin and originally wanted it to dome my cricut projects. I have the original formula and wondered why it was flat and not doming like others I see. Never knew there was different viscosities.
The viscosity is different, and the high viscosity is more suitable for doming projects. The classic is medium viscosity, general purpose.
I have GOT to get some of these low and high viscosity resins from JDiction! It's the only UV resin I use, anyway.
Doming can be such a chore when it insists on running over the edge no matter the care taken - ugh! I've ruined SO many pieces that way. 😥

He said he'll do that ring video later, hasn't done it yet is what I thought he said.
Thank you I’ve learned such a lot today 😊
I have a couple of these, the classic and the high viscosity. When I bought them I also bought a uv torch. I’ve had my pieces cure for more than 10 minutes and they’re still sticky. Same brand. Even used the same uv thing as you.
I have the same lamp, it's not good. I bought a good lamp and my resin cures perfectly now.
Try a 36 watt nail lamp, not a 9 watt LED lamp, they say there's no difference, but I believe there is - and don't forget, sometimes you need to turn the item over and cure from the back and also, UV likes to cure in thin layers, try more thin layers instead of one thick layer. Really helpful video Steve, thanks
Hi Steve,
Would you Please put up the link for your ring video.
I'm sorry, I can't seem to find it. But then sometimes something will be right in front of me & I don't see it. LOL
Thank you so much for sharing. I was confused on these resins. So, now I know, you do a wonderful job at teaching. I know because I've learned a lot from watching you. Thank you again.
Love your videos. New to resin. Can you make the square with uv resin or is it too thick?
It is too thick you would need to do it in lots of layers.
So helpful. Thank you.
Can you combine different resin types when desiring a sinking effect with mica colored resin?
Great video. 👍🏽 Thanks 👏🏽
Hi Raquel from Puerto Rico where can I buy the resins I am a beginner which should i try first i would like to make jewelry i do make wire jewelry also the rings you said to go to the video can you please tell me where to see it thank you i think you are great I like how you explain things once again thank you for sharing
Hi Steve your videos have helped me so much. I had holes and bubbles in my cured Polyurethane resin would I be able to fix it with UV resin?
What type sandpaper would you use to shape up the pieces after casting.
When will they be on the UK market?
I have just started this craft and I’m finding it great but I made a coaster holder and I have a little sticky patch is there anything I can do about it or is it not a fix
How do you clean your brush?
Hiya, I’m a bit confused. I thought you couldn’t use uv resin in the pink molds?
Where is the ring video. Love all your videos
I am super new to UV resin and learning so much from your videos! Do you know if JDICTION's high gloss resin is really any different? Resin is already so shiny when cured
New to Uv resin. How did you cure the low viscosity I’ve resin on the cube?
Can you please post the link to the video about making those rings? The ones you show at about 9 minutes? Thank you!
Hi can you say where you get your stainless steel ring blanks please
Hello Steve, I love your channel and talent. I have learned a lot from you! But I noticed that you curing lamp has exposed wires where the electrical plug goes into the lamp. I would advise you to wrap that with black electrical tape, or it might spark and cause a shock or fire, a small one, but either wrap or replace.
Keep up the great work!!!
Our bottles here from Michaels is say hard or soft?
Hello Steve is it at all possible to get a link to make those lovely rings with the inserts. Please and thank you
can it be sanded and polished after if its scratched
Can Metal charms be used with these resins in this jewelry you made?
I would like to know which one to do pens with
I just wanted to know if there is any way to clean fingerprints and smudge marks caused by touching the cured uv resin piece... My jewellery turns matte when i touch it and the smudge just doesn't go away... I cure my pieces completely, they are hard and clear but get matte once i touch them 😢

Why do you use the lighter.. and will it cure without a uv lamp?
The lighter is to burst the bubbles, and it will cure with regular sunlight, but it takes longer
Thank you so much for explaining the difference. Wish they came in a group of one of each but for now will get them separate. I wanted the emoji sequins as well but when you click on the link that is not what's coming up. Is it another link for those? Thank you
