20 minute Ashtanga Yoga for Beginners | Ashtanga short form

- Опубліковано 7 сер 2024
- Join me for this short and sweet 20-minute ashtanga yoga flow. This could also be considered as a short form of Ahstanga yoga. We will mainly be focusing on the ashtanga sun salutation sequence as well as some of the standing sequence.
And so if you only have 20 minutes for your practice, then step on your mat and practice along with me :-)
Practice videos:
15 minute Ashtanga: • 15 minute ashtanga sho...
20 minute Ashtanga: • 20 minute Ashtanga Yog...
30 minute Ashtanga: • 30 Minute Ashtanga Yog...
40 minute Ashtanga: • 40 Minute Ashtanga Yog...
We'll be practicing an ashtanga short form, with 5 ashtanga sun salutation A and 3 sun salutations B. From there we are going to move on to padangustasana and padahastasana, followed by Trikonasana A&B and Parsvakonasana A&B. We then move on to wheel pose (Urhva Dhanurasana) and then we finish the practice with the 3 final postures: Baddha Padmasana, Padmasana, Utplutih, and then we rest in Savasana.
This is one version of the ashtanga yoga short form that I like to practice when I don't have much time.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :-)

I deliver packages for a living but want to lose weight and get in better shape. This workout made me realize I’m not in shape at all or I underestimated yoga. 🤣🤣🤣 I’m gonna stick to this until I can do it with no pauses lol
Oh wow! Best of luck to you on your journey!! Let me know how you get on!

Thank you for this practice! I have worked on this particular class on and off for about 4 months and I have finally fully completed it in a good form. I appreciate you for introducing me to Ashtanga. I thumbs up the video and subscribed❣️
Thank you for the lovely comment and well done for keeping up with your practice ❤️
A great video, as usual your cues are times perfectly and pace was excellent! It'd be amazing to see a half-primary class video from you, or even a full primary, you're a fantastic teacher. Thank you!
Mia that's such a lovely thing to say, thank you
Really enjoyed this! I haven’t done ashtanga in a while and this was a perfect reintroduction, thank you 🥰🥰
Sarah that's great to hear! I'll be sharing more short practice videos like this that are perfect for anyone wanting to build up an ashtanga practice :-)

@@AlexiaKYogaThank you very mutch... have a nice Weekend.... see you….
wow still can't keep up even after 40 years, back to vinyasa flow
Sorry to hear you found it challenging. I hope you have vinyasa flow practices that you enjoy doing :-)
Thanks sister ♥️♥️♥️🇩🇿 🇩🇿🇩🇿
You are very welcome :-)
🙏🏻
Thank you
You're welcome!
Nice flow Alexia and I really like the breath timing 👍 3 rounds of full wheel wouldn't call beginner though haha😅take care!
Alexia, I love this new video as well, I do have a quick question though! I need to know how you roll the toes going into an upward facing dog so easily! I feel like I’m doing it all wrong, 😆 feeling a little pain and just not a good flowing transition as you make it seem. Thank you!!
Kara thank you for the feedback! I made a chaturanga-to-updog tutorial that may help with rolling over the toes. I hope it helps! ua-cam.com/video/KVnLa6rWKIU/v-deo.html
Did you get a new pooch??? Wonderful practice, as usual!
Haha no same dog, though she got a haircut yesterday and looks quite different! And thank you for the positive feedback ❤️
I been loving this one. Maybe too much. I was doing everyday. My left mcl got a little sore. From the stuff where legs are stepped apart. I think laterally mixed with my bad form caused the mild strain. What would be another routine of urs here that's safe to do while I give this sometime to recover. 😁
Sorry to hear you’re dealing with an injury.. I hope it’s already feeling better. This is a much more gentle practice that will help you stretch: ua-cam.com/video/eWzn6UXza6A/v-deo.html
@@AlexiaKYoga it is better. I got some pt. they didn't think it was mcl. more sorness in upper calves and lower hamstrings.
Butt kicking workout 😁👍
Happy you liked it :-)
How long does it take to learn chaturanga?
It really depends! However, I do have a tutorial that may help you find the correct technique for chaturanga if its a pose you're struggling with: ua-cam.com/video/tFIvhGv4T2o/v-deo.html
@@AlexiaKYoga thanks! Does this pose require a lot of triceps strength? Or core strength or both?
I'm so beginner that this was too much for me 😂
your dog can hear your breaths!
Haha yes she's slowly becoming the star in my videos!
@@AlexiaKYoga Hi Alexia, have you ever thought about publishing your content on a yoga-dedicated platform to reach more audiences? I love to connect with you to share more details.
You breathe too slow
Thanks for the feedback! Ashtanga can be taught in a variety ways. Some classes are slow and some are much faster. It’s a matter of finding the pace that is right for you :-) My next Ashtanga practice video will be faster than this one.
