Hi I have been doing yoga for past 4 years I gained lot of positive things but unfortunatelly I am still as inflexible as at thw beginning but yoga is great and I still continue.
As I read some of the comments I laughed at the whiners. This is a great video for beginners who are actually mobile and do not sit around doing nothing all day. I’m 58 years old, have never done yoga, but will easily begin this entire session of “beginner’s yoga” tomorrow morning. I’m still climbing trees, roofs, carrying heavy ladders, doing carpentry, etc., I’m a 58 yr old woman in Texas who’s still kicking ass!
Kick ass! I love this! Do you climb trees barefoot? Keep that youthful vigor, stay mobile, and enjoy this beautiful life! I look forward to practicing (or climbing a tree) with you one day!
I used to practice Ashtanga many years ago, but life happened and I fell out of my practice. And yoga, for that matter. These days I feel like I'm starting all over again, as my body has changed, I'm older, etc. I remember when I practiced Ashtanga were the days I felt physically strongest and also saw myself as a strong person. I'm hoping to regain some of that through rediscovering Ashtanga, but this time in a way that works for me and not out of ego about what asanas I can do. I'm really glad I found this video because you teach it in a way that feels accessible and your cueing is just right for me, especially with the breath counts. These days I find myself tired just after the 5 surya namaskar A, so I'm working from there. My goal is to complete this whole video before the end of the year! Thank you for this channel. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
I fell out of practice too in many things in my life. I like your comment as I feel the exact same right now. I watched this video for the first time yesterday (and did my best) Feeling too sore today to do it but it will come, slowly slowly. I hope you have reached your goal or that you are simply feeling good.
Been doing this for the last two days to get back into my practice. Thank you! Muscle memory for yoga didn’t go away, but my flexibility did.. haha! Can’t wait to feel fluid and flexible again.
Beautiful!!! The flexibility will return with patience as long at the mind isn’t rigid about forcing it to where it once was. That’s a common recipe for injury. You got this!

Advice... be kind to yourself. Muscle memory will help but think about building strength in the antagonist muscles to the ones that you want to be stretching. It may be a slower process but the long term benefits will last you through the golden years.

You are welcome!! I’m super stoked that you make time for yourself! A 30min practice is all the time I had when working as a nurse and needed to be on the floor at 07:00. Keep up the awesome work!!
I had to modify especially the transitions and make them easier. I know that as long as I'm challenging myself a bit, it'll still work, though. I haven't done a lot of ashtanga, but it seems fun. I used this as a warm up for blogilates's 14 day quarantine challenge, which is soo hard for me, but helps me get fit again.
It is the first 6 standing asana of the primary series. It doesn’t need to look like my practice, it should be modified to each individual. For beginners of ashtanga these 6 asana are key for unlocking the entire series. I uploaded a practice using a chair that may interest you?

It is pretty beginner-level in my opinion. I do other yoga videos and they include the same positions as him. Maybe because of the low-push up position and his flexibility is why it doesn't *look* like beginner-level.
I understand that the poses themselves are important to learn but then the distraction from the seemingly impossible transitions for a beginner is quite distracting
In the beginning it is all distracting. If you remember learning how to read there were 26 letters and some with multiple sounds, then there were endless combinations of these letters into words. It is easy to be overwhelmed in the beginning, but focus on one part, perhaps just one pose? Learn that one pose, then visit it again the next day and it’s transition into and out of, then move on to the next one. I put up a 4 day series that breaks this down. Check it out!
@@AshtangaNurse thank you that makes sense and I do resonate with that. Recognising my criticizing of myself projected onto you. So thank you for your explanation and I will try again with less judgement and more compassion 🙏💜
I must say it’s kind of A hilarious experience to pick a beginners morning yoga With somewhat expectations, trying to follow along and then Looking up to See how he’s doing what he is explaining. That’s stuff ain’t beginner level mate. It could also be nice with some more time and a little better of explaining of the process

Advice... be kind to yourself. Muscle memory will help but think about building strength in the antagonist muscles to the ones that you want to be stretching. It may be a slower process but the long term benefits will last you through the golden years.
thanks, I enjoyed it... appreciate this as it's less invigorating than others - very gentle
Thank you! I’m happy to read that you enjoyed!
Very cool, glad I found this. Namaste!
Welcome aboard!
This is so relaxing!
Glad to read that you enjoyed!
Meh. More relaxing if he spoke a sexier, ethnic dialect.
You’re a great guide 🙏🏽
I appreciate that! Thank you!
So energizing

You are welcome! I’m happy that his could help restart your journey
@ashtanganurse loved it. Would love to see more of 30 minute series. And may be bookmarks to your those small guide videos on how to achieve it. Thank you once more.
Absolutely! Are you thinking shorter videos on how to work towards those more advanced asana (poses)
@@AshtangaNurse. Yup.. Waiting for those back in the studio 30 to 45 minutes series with more guidance... May be you should open a Patreon page too.. 😉
Wish I could give this a like every morning after I finish this routine. 🙏
Thanks! That means a lot!
Beautiful- thank you 🙏
You are very welcome!
Thank you, Morgan, you are truly inspiration to me...I am waiting patiently for your "Why Yoga Works" to arrive. I am very fond of anatomy/psychology/spirituality combination point of view . Thank you on so many levels. Namaste.
Best regards,
Ana
Thanks Ana! I'm super stoked that you got the book and can geek out over anatomy. If you have any request for a video you would like to see, please let me know!
Thank you! This is perfect for my quick AM flow. I usually only have a half an hour!
Her exercises are intense! Full power 💪 building up in stages is how we become experts!
Very nicely done.
Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed!
@@AshtangaNurse No sure I'd say enjoyed.....but it is a good start for the day.
Thank you 🙏
Absolutely! Thanks for practicing 🙏
This seems like a good flow but it doesn’t seem like it’s for beginners.
Amazing. Thanks 🧡
Yes. I have some intro videos that may be more inline with what you’re looking for
Enjoyed it specially the fireworks at the end lol
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you so much.
