Since we all live in California, the three of us are stuck at home because of the current pandemic. During this time, we wanted to update you on what each of us has been doing. In this episode, Jeff helps his cousin create an iPad mount for his Mazda CX-5!

I use my iPad Pro 12.9” with a single magnetic mount on my dash, and a few Velcro tabs on the bottom just to stabilize it. Been using it for running Uber driver app and Google maps in my Yukon. Works fantastic for over 2 years. It has never fallen off

Very innovative. Just a question though- being as though the iPad is sort of covering the vents is the inside taking longer to cool/heat it’s self? Is the ipad cold or hot after a normal commute from work-home? If so..does that damage the ipad or reverse any of the cold/hot air back into the vents?

Ive got one mounted in my car. I just used 2 of those magnetic vent mounts and attached those magnets that such mounts come with and stucj them to my case. So you can do it that way as well. Costs under 10 dollars and can be setup in under 10 minutes. Just use 2 of the magnetic car vent mounts.

I did something similar, but i used 2 magnetic cell phone vent clips, and put one on each vent, and it is rock solid, and sits perfectly flush with dash. I have a Audi B8.5 Allroad, but center vents are very similar. Have 90 degree USB-C cable for power ran behind the tab threw the vent to power.

I bought the APPS 2 Cars CD phone mount for my Ford Escape. When I want to use my iPad 9.7" in the car I connect to the Bluetooth & turn on the hotspot on my phone and I'm good. Holds my iPad and phone nice and sturdy.
They now have 1st Gen and 2nd Gen, I have 1st to be cheap

How you do the connection to internet and phone and maybe a selfinstalled back camera?
does it stay up there if you would have to brake hard or swerve or both ?
isnt it easier to just stick three or four smaller magnets onto the pad? the stronger magnets will stick even on lower quality (very thin) magnets.. i think maybe 4 is even to mutch.. anyways, GG bro. nice job! thanks!

Did that with a 11“ iPad Pro and connected it to an OBD2 Dongle an made some gauges … looked also quite nice

@@patrickrodriguez127 i used an App for that wich directly communicated with OBD2. So I used maps on the right side and on the left side Speed like an tesla screen

@@Drerivera7 I used OBD Fusion with Maps in split screen mode. Where maps took the biggest space on my 11 inch iPad Pro.

We would love to give you more insight, but sadly we don't actually know what a lot of the random parts we used to make this are called :( We will try to leave as many links to things we used in the description soon though! We're hoping we can make a 3D printed version of the bracket eventually hahah

How to block your AC vents, or how to cool your iPad!
I like this, but the problem I see here is the constant removal and hiding of the ipad whenever parking publicly. No matter the city, Im sure an ipad pro would call attention to your vehicle. 😬😬
Blocking the ac vent in Arizona? Hell no. Why not mount it where the existing screen is?

Automatic climate control in every car I’ve owned defaults to feet. My car never blows, hot air through top vans, but in the summertime blows cold air from top Vents

neither. It just has an Sim card (like a phone) it has its own LTE signal

How often do you use the hazard lights?
@@box4aza Well, obviously not as much as the turn indicators, but still not entirely uncommon. For instance, if I'm approaching the end of a traffic jam, I promptly activate the hazard lights. That's essentially a routine whenever I commute to work.

@@ParodieHecker-mobilewhy would you turn it on? Everyone behind you will see there’s a jam and your brake lights lit on. If the jam clears up or you move ahead and don’t turn off the hazard lights it becomes more difficult to see if you’re breaking or not.
