Wow. What a great 97-year-old: intellectually sharp as a knife, perceptive, willing to accept new ideas, inquisitive, great sense of humor. The car's nice, too, but Grandpa steals the show.
I've watched probably tens of thousands of youtube videos over the years and that has got to be my favorite one ever. So heartwarming. Thanks for sharing.
I remember watching this video when it came out years ago. By the time, I was 16. Still had 2 years ahead before I could get my drivers license. This video gave me some kind of need to do the same with my grandfather: to be able to drive him arround at least once in his lifetime. I'm happy to say that I made that dream come true. Came pick him up at his home and brought him to have lunch with the family. That moment meant a lot to me. Like an inflection point in our relation. He passed away peacefully at the age of 90.
I love these videos. It’s a great concept. But this one was particularly heart warming. His curiosity about how everything worked was the best bit! What a lovely man. ♥️
Priceless! What a memory to have of your grandfather. My dad said in the fifties that EV's were our future or we wouldn't have one. Unfortunately he didn't see the future as he died very young over 67' years ago. He was an environmentalist before the term became common place.
@@MrMustache-yn4zm if you ignore production costs then they are very environmentally friendly. with the influx of recycled cobalt and lithium they should be more environemtnally friendly
@@MrMustache-yn4zm Because even if you ignore the production cost of ICE vehicles, EVs are still hands down better for the environment than Earth natural resources depleting ICE vehicles.
I'm 72, and I was also floored by my first ride in a Tesla. Pretty heady business. Out on the highway, the driver put it through its paces for me. We more or less instantly got up to 123mph before he backed off, saying he didn't need that ticket - LOL! The only other time I'd felt that kind of acceleration was on an airport runway. 😆
Thank you such a wonderful video. 93 God bless him. For your grandfather to see the changes in the automotive industry, and I think what he first drove.
Aww it's so nice seeing someone appreciate tech they should have had 40 years ago for free. ❤️ The old boy read about the axed electric cars when the oil companies took over all of our lives so sweet.
Well to be fair, if the guy who uploaded the video still has the charger at home, he just has to charge it overnight and he wakes up to a full "tank" every morning. Not only is that cheaper but also more convenient too!
@@dannyphantom121 imagine waking up with a full tank every morning. unless your traveling more than 300 miles in one sitting you will never spend those 3 hours waiting you will always charge it while sleeping
I love petrol engines with my entire being and it breaks my soul to see them challenged by stupid electric cars, but even I can see that the electric car will work perfectly in 98% of all your travels granted you have a charger at your home. I am guessing off the top of my head that 90% of EV owners haven't even charged their car at a public charger, because they buy an EV because it suits their life with work and kids and it doesn't cost any petrol. I can see why that would be an awesome solution for them. Granted they have 70k laying in a bank somehwere.
i like how a 97 year old is so amazed by an electric car, meanwhile 13 year old "car guys" are hating on electric cars because "its a washing machine, not a real car"

I'm calling BS on that one. It's just a power point with a big plug at the end of the day, hardly the biggest hurdle to new home construction, or even a major expense in terms of overall cost of a house.
3:29 No one should ever walk across a crosswalk with their baby in a stroller. Or any sidewalk for that matter. Just foolish in my opinion. You never know who might not be paying attention.
