When it comes to power and hard hitting Shane reminds me of a young Dave Grohl. Give him few months of practicing and he’ll be capable of playing full Foo’s show.

Man that kid can play; I just hope he doesn't feel like he has to replace his dad. I cannot imagine what he has to be feeling and going through. All the guys in Foo Fighters have their heads on straight, so you know hell be in good musical hands. Really, my heart just breaks for Shane and the Hawkins family. Beating the hell out of those drums has to feel cathartic.
Thank you Brian James for sharing this moment with us!! I think Shane is amazing on drums, just like his dad was amazing. The thing that hits me the most is that you can tell he is giving his all and then some for his Dad. I think the whole Foo Fighters band thinks of Shane like a nephew.
If anyone reads this, please be kind in the comments section. This is a memorial concert and it’s just NOT the time to make dire predictions about the future of the Foo Fighters, criticize Shane, or slam down people’s beliefs about the afterlife, no matter what they may be. Stop analyzing the audience and making baseless assumptions about their subdued behavior. Are you in their minds? No you are not. This just is not the place or time for that. As Foo Fighters fans, we’re all still grieving (honestly, I’m still in shock) over Taylor’s death. Everyone grieves differently.
(Dave's voice sounds tired. Good old Taylor used to step in to help with his backing vocals whenever that would happen during live performances. 🖤)
I love, love, love Shane's energy. You can tell everyone on that stage is really proud of him. T would be proud too. 🖤

And it was a long 6 hour show and I would imagine Dave was talking to a lot of folks when he wasn't up there singing....
I LOVE FF forever but I think the other tribute was better. Dave sounds tired and it may be this video because it sounds a little off to me... Nothing could honestly beat the 1st time hearing Shane play and Dave breaking down a bit... just my opinion.
U think Dave ever thought 30 years later he'd be singing a group called Foo Fighters..that all changed one horrific day a long time ago. It was always NIRVANA and always will be.RIP THawk..and KC. May u rest in peace. Ur a both legends
Well, he's had a couple of rough weeks, of rough month even... Losing his friend and bandmate, Losing his mum, putting this and the London show together...the guy must be exhausted.

To be fair, First show, second show. Hard to repeat the original emotional expression.second show Tuesday night in L.A. Weekend night in London. But may be as you said, just the peeps too.
@@latentsea that's definitely a factor but it's kinda a fact that crowds in other places (South America and Europe come to mind) are built different in comparison to North America. They seem to be closer to the way things were in the early 00s and before.
You're right. American crowds usually are more laid back at concerts. This is contrary to what I think of everyday culture in London and America where Americans are known for being more forward and loud. Although I've been to some great concerts in Miami and Orlando, Florida where so many of the people there were South Americans and Spanish and the crowd was excellent.
Divij Chand, Good point, I didn’t think about that, Other places still rock raw and wild like the United States did in the 80’s 90s 00’s. Best audience reaction I’ve ever seen is YYZ at Rio. Rushes last show at the forum though, It had that Wembley vibe, it’s just palpable when Something magic is in the air.

I'd say he should get a different gig to differentiate himself from his father. Also he is still too young, a job like that on the Foos' level requires a lot outside of pure musical ability and charisma.
If I had to pick someone to take over it would be Rufus Taylor. tbh it's the only scenario where I can see the drummer stepping out of the "succeeding taylor hawkins" shadow.
To do what? To ruin his life by touring the world with no friends of his age and get depressed? And to end as his father? Wake up? Grow up!

This series of performances in tribute of his father, the moments where he nails the buildup and the audience erupts in applause, that's how you get the euphoric feeling that every musician lives for. We at least know that Shane and his siblings are left in very capable and competent hands of Taylor's brothers the remaining Foos. Uncle Dave will definitely be making sure they are taken care of and will teach Shane all the instruments he could ever want to learn. Hard to believe Taylor has been gone six months already. The shocking news of his sudden passing has stayed vivid and visceral ever since and I still think WTF? The two massive tribute concerts are ointment on the wound, and I/We hope Dave and the Foos can soldier on keeping Taylor's spirit alive in his honor.

For those who made the statement that Shane Hawkins wasn’t old enough to take on the job of being the drummer for FooFighters is so incorrect. Shane has the mentality way beyond most people in their 30’s. Anyone who can get behind a kit and drum this way is totally awesome. Plus if Shane was to tour with the FooFighters I think that Uncle Dave would keep a keen eye on this young man! Shane is about 15 years old and I have heard of many who are fulfill their dreams at this time. This drummer is to be reckon with, he has a great future ahead of himself. Plus I know of plenty of people his age that are wasting time getting high and not having a long term goal for their future.
