Sad that you couldn't see the extra stuff. Kind of sad that it isn't on Disney+ cause the blooper stuff is great. And they even made a short where they really went with making a company musical play called "Put that thing back where it came from or so help me"
Fun Disney theory, In 14:04 supposedly the monster that is talking here wasn't talking about Boo, He was describing Baby Jack-Jack from The Incredibles
Random, but the running gag of Mike being covered up by a logo or whatever like at 4:59 was also put on the DVD cover of this movie. A yellow sticker that was round said great low price and it was right on his face lol. They pushed that running gag to the limit. A kid was Boo and she was used from 2.5 - 3.5 years old during filming.
The restaurant that Mike and Celia are at is called Harryhausen's. This is an homage to Ray Harryhausen, the man who made the stop-motion animation monsters for films like Jason and the Argonauts (1963), Sinbad and the Seventh Voyage, and more. His work had a profound influence on Steven Spielberg, Guillermo del Toro, and other filmmakers. Also, the octopus behind the bar in the restaurant with only six legs is a reference to It Came from Beneath the Sea (1955), a film in which Harryhausen created an octopus with six arms due to budget restrictions.
Wow, this unlocked a memory I completely forgot about. I haven't seen this movie in years. I never realized how much I quote this movie in my daily life. I hope they make a movie with Boo all grown up. Also, Monsters University is very good too from what I can remember. Maybe you could do that one next!
Fun fact: Mary Gibbs was two years old when she provided the voice of Boo. They mostly just followed her around as she played as opposed to a recording booth.
"it normally took 11 to 12 hours to render a SINGLE frame of sulley because of his 2.3 million individually animated hair strands" is what I remember reading.
I really like the relationship of Sully and Boo and their funny interactions. It shows how precious children are and how they just make you love them! 🥰
Yes! And I’m so glad they made her 2 after 3 because they literally had to take care of her, they usually don’t make the main kid characters this little, they usually have them be 8 or 9. And it’s way more impactful that she would be this age when Sully sees her face when he scares her.
I went to high school with the girl who played Boo. Her name is Mary and she was incredibly nice when we crossed paths! She had long dreadlocks for most of high school that were pretty cool

Monster's Inc is my favourite Pixar movie. I think it has one of the most absurdly creative concepts (I remember my mind being totally blown when I first saw the warehouse of doors as a kid), amazing world building, beautiful animation, great humour, incredible character development, and SO MUCH HEART. Top tier.
They did use an actual kid, they follow her around studio recording her sounds. The kid was named Mary Gibbs, they also named Boo real name Mary after her actress
Pixar’s given us some great duos over the years (Woody & Buzz, Marlin & Dory), but I think Sully & Mike has to be the best one. It doesn’t hurt that John Goodman & Billy Crystal are both excellent comedy actors, but if I remember correctly they also did a lot of their recording together (not super common for dialogue recording) which probably helped them find the perfect balance between the two.
Though I don't believe it that much, it's worth mentioning that there's a theory that Boo is a young Violet from the Incredibles, what with her disappearing and being comfortable with the behemoth that is Sully (because Mr. Incredible is also very big)

You guys are hitting all my childhood favorites, Toy Story, A Bug's life and now this! Man, Finding Nemo is the only one I think you haven't covered yet...
I want to see them react to Monsters vs Aliens. This reminded me of it, but it’s a cute, funny little movie that’s very enjoyable with great animation.
Over the pass two years I think of the sock reaction and how a sneeze would create the same fear. Here is a story that has been passed around since Toy Story 3......Boo is Bonny. Many are saying this because of her design.
I love this movie so much! It's so timeless despite it having been a whole TWENTY years since its release just last year! 😭 I'd love to see you guys react to Monster's University too if you ever get the chance - it's really interesting when you compare the eras that the two movies were released and the "audience" they were for. Monster's Inc felt perfect for kids with Boo's character, but Monster's University came out when I was in college, and I can't tell you how perfectly timed that movie felt for me at that age. The message from the 2nd movie felt so perfectly timed. Almost like the creators of the movie meant it just for the kids who had grown up seeing Monster's Inc 🥺
I love this movie so much! Monsters University is also a really great prequel. And if you want to go further into the Monsters Inc. world, there is a mini series on Disney+ called Monsters At Work that takes place during the first few weeks after they switch to laugh power.
There is a theory I really love about this movie it's that the monsters are actually mutated humans after an apocalypse due to a big pandemic. And the door actually get them in the past, before this, that's why they're afraid of the kids, they're afraid of the pandemic to be back and cause a new apocalypse
Dude this movie was my childhood! Me and my siblings had 5 movies to choose from every night and we picked this movie so often, brings back so many memories
I remember there being outtakes in this one, not sure why they werent available (Mike did a musical with "Put that thing back where you got it, or so help me")
Monsters inc is one of my favorite animated movies I would watch this all the time when I was a little girl I use to have it on dvd and would watch with family on family night
Another Easter Egg to look for in all Pizar films is the Pizza Planet truck from Toy Story. In this movie it is on the side of the trailer truck where Randall was tossed into.
Aww I wish you guys could have seen the bloopers…they’re so great. One of my favorites is when Sulley can’t figure out pig Latin 😆. Such a fun movie, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
17:57 as a daycare teacher, this is super unrelatable because Sulley didnt have to remind her to put her pants and pull-ups back on before she came out of the bathroom 🤣
I always loved this movie - but this reaction hit so much more this time, as I became a parent in the last year! So relatable!! Especially the sudden changes in emotions (happy - tears - laughter) and the wishing you had a magic word for putting them to sleep. Even the turning around they're suddenly not there! Little kids move way faster than you think
they do have a monsters inc ride in disneyland california and it goes through the whole movie basically. BUT IMAGINE A ROLLERCOASTER WITH THE DOORS 😭😭 thatd be sick
The DVD for this movie had so much as far as bonus features! I loved all the interactive games that you could play on the disc with your TV remote! I think that's why I remember the doors so vividly, because they used that as the basis for the games, not just that one scene and the opening scene in the movie
One of my fav Pixar stories is for Ratatouille. When they dressed someone up in a chef outfit and threw him in a pool for reference for that scene where Linguini falls in the river lol
There was a theory that jack jack teleported to their dimension and that explains why the monster said it was flying and shooting laser beams out of his eyes
This was the first movie I ever saw in theaters. I was two years old when this came out! I remember my mom telling me how I was the only kid who didn't cry when Sully roared. I loved the big fluffy monster lol
I like the reference of having the restaurant named Harryhausen in a world of monsters after the legendary monster creator Ray Harryhausen. Which brings me to say if you haven’t seen them watch his films of: The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, Jason and the Argonauts, The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger and Clash of the Titans (stay away from the trash remake), to name a few.
finding nemo was the next movie Monsters, Inc. came out in 2001 finding nemo 2003 so it was a hint of the next movie, all pixar movies have hints of upcoming movies
3:25 truth! Being a preschool teacher you have to build up an extreme immune system! 💪🏻 30:22 that literally happened today! Just not with a bat, thank heavens. 😅 Loved your reactions to this!! 😂😊
This movie will be forever one of my favorites. I remember when it came out and I watched like a hundred times and even though I know the movie in it's entirely I still watch every time it is on. The characters are so well developed and it is just amazing. Fun fact, this movie was the movie that create the fur animation in pixar. Before this, if you look at toy story for example, the fur from the dog it pretty blend. So they actually created a whole new technology just to animate the texture and the fur. It is quite impressive
One detail I really love since I heard it pointed out in the DVD commentary: The canisters are much bigger after they move over to laughs, because of how strong laughter is.
Thank you for reacting to this amazing film! I loved watching this movie when I was young. I even went and saw Monsters Inc. On Ice and got a plush Sulley as a souvenir along with a Sulley cup. There’s a prequel called Monsters University and series which is like a midquel between Mike and Sulley sending Boo home and before the movies ending called Monsters At Work which is great! 👹👁👧🏻💙💜💛💚
Monsters Inc was my heart and soul. It's very emotional, but I love the actions, funny moments and Mary Gibbs' performance as Boo will never get old. React to Space Jam 😍😍😍😢😢😢🤣🤣🤣
I remember once watching 101 Dalmatians for the first time in forever a few years ago, and the opening to that reminded me so much of the opening to this movie.
They got a real child to play Boo, Mary Gibbs, who was only two at the time; they just waited until she made the rights sounds they wanted, including the crying. It was difficult working with her, because she just couldn't focus due to being so young, and ran around a lot. :D

Also I don’t know if you’ve ever seen it, Pixar actually animated them doing the ‘put that thing back where it came from or so help me’ musical like they didn’t need to but it’s amazing! I don’t remember if it was at the end of the dvd or if it was in one of the extra scenes him had to find
Oh it’s one of the best things! It’s just as good as the movie! It’s one of the best bonus features they’ve ever done!
I remember it being an End Credits thing. So I'm surprised it didn't appear.
The swedish dub and DVD and Blu-ray have the bloopers and company play included.
My friend and I STILL say "Put That Thing Back Where It Came from or so Help Me.... and cut!" 🤣🤣🤣
You guys are hitting all my childhood favorites, Toy Story, A Bug's life and now this! Man, Finding Nemo is the only one I think you haven't covered yet...
Agreed. It's gotta be coming up.
What great voices. Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, James Coburn
And if you want to go further into the Monsters Inc. world, there is a mini series on Disney+ called Monsters At Work that takes place during the first few weeks after they switch to laugh power.
this movie was on repeat when i was a kid. Loved this movie
I remember there being outtakes in this one, not sure why they werent available (Mike did a musical with "Put that thing back where you got it, or so help me")
Disney just didnt include it.
This movie is my childhood! When I was little I looked just like Boo and my family used to call me by her name. I hope you guys really enjoyed it! ✨💜💚
That's cute and I love your name :)
I’m glad you guys started making longer videos, more time to enjoy your content!
Monster’s University is the prequel to this movie. It came out in 2013, and it’s great! Would love to see a reaction to that!
Awh man, Sully closing the door then Boo opening it up and him not being there 😭 I can't! 💔
Mary Gibbs was the voice of Boo! her dad was a storyboard artist on the movie :)
they do have a monsters inc ride in disneyland california and it goes through the whole movie basically. BUT IMAGINE A ROLLERCOASTER WITH THE DOORS 😭😭 thatd be sick
Yeah!! I’ve never been on the monsters inc ride…
The DVD for this movie had so much as far as bonus features! I loved all the interactive games that you could play on the disc with your TV remote! I think that's why I remember the doors so vividly, because they used that as the basis for the games, not just that one scene and the opening scene in the movie
Thank God something else to occupy my mind other than the fighting 🙃 you guys saved my day
Yes of course!!
@@whitenoisereacts SLAVA UKRAINE ✊🏻
One of my fav Pixar stories is for Ratatouille. When they dressed someone up in a chef outfit and threw him in a pool for reference for that scene where Linguini falls in the river lol
Lmao!! That’s great
15:32 it was a 3 year old girl named Mary who voiced her. Fun fact, they named the character Mary after her!
YES! I requested this reaction and can't wait to watch it right now!
This might be one of my 3 favourite PIXAR movies of all times. The other 2 are COCO and LUCA.
I think my new favorite scene is
"I'm being attacked!"
"I'm not attacking you"
😂
Monsters Inc. was the only Pixar movie to have gotten a prequel, Monsters University.
There was a theory that jack jack teleported to their dimension and that explains why the monster said it was flying and shooting laser beams out of his eyes
Lmao! I love that one
This was the first movie I ever saw in theaters. I was two years old when this came out! I remember my mom telling me how I was the only kid who didn't cry when Sully roared. I loved the big fluffy monster lol
If you were looking for the bloopers, there are bloopers (don't know why it wasn't on this one) but you can find them on UA-cam
Now you have a better appreciation of Doc from Baby Driver being ticked off about being fed lines from from Monsters Inc.
I like the reference of having the restaurant named Harryhausen in a world of monsters after the legendary monster creator Ray Harryhausen.
Which brings me to say if you haven’t seen them watch his films of:
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad,
The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms,
Jason and the Argonauts,
The Golden Voyage of Sinbad,
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger
and Clash of the Titans (stay away from the trash remake), to name a few.
Finally my favourite film ever! I’ve watched it every night for the past 5 years!
You watched it every day during 5 years straight? 😐😐
I loved this movie and I still enjoy it, such a great concept! Would love to see you guys react to the prequel, thanks for the reaction 😊
finding nemo was the next movie
Monsters, Inc. came out in 2001
finding nemo 2003
so it was a hint of the next movie, all pixar movies have hints of upcoming movies
3:25 truth! Being a preschool teacher you have to build up an extreme immune system! 💪🏻
30:22 that literally happened today! Just not with a bat, thank heavens. 😅
Loved your reactions to this!! 😂😊
You guys should do a discussion for Avatar I like to hear your thoughts on the movies and shows you watch!! I'm almost through with Haikyuu!!!
Possibly!! I’ll keep it in mind
So... this movie lost the oscar to first ever Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, to the movie Shrek.
Shrek is good but that's an absolute robbery.
Every time I watch your reactions, I get this craving for boba. I blame you both lol. I LOVE this movie and I loved the reaction!
😂😂what’s ur go two order?
Black milk tea with regular ice, 75% sugar and cheese foam. I'm salivating and YOU'RE NOT HELPING 🤣
One detail I really love since I heard it pointed out in the DVD commentary: The canisters are much bigger after they move over to laughs, because of how strong laughter is.
Mary Gibbs played Boo in this movie. She was only 5 years old
Omg you guys!!! I cant wait for Coco !! 😭😇
React to Space Jam
😍😍😍😢😢😢🤣🤣🤣
One thing that helped with the monster designs, in my opinion, was choosing very saturated colors and kinda like how children would draw monsters
This is a great movie. I wish we got a sequel to this movie instead of a prequel.
I remember once watching 101 Dalmatians for the first time in forever a few years ago, and the opening to that reminded me so much of the opening to this movie.
I don’t know if y’all take request, but y’all should check out the maze runner trilogy!
When they send randle to the trailer in the end, the truck outside is the pizza planet truck from toy story.👍🏼
They got a real child to play Boo, Mary Gibbs, who was only two at the time; they just waited until she made the rights sounds they wanted, including the crying. It was difficult working with her, because she just couldn't focus due to being so young, and ran around a lot. :D
I adored this movie as a child and still adore it to this day. I am glad you enjoyed it and I could relive my nostalgia with you guys a bit.
