My niece is very similar to this, she will be standing right next to us and the next thing we know she's across the room without us ever hearing her, it astounds me every time. 🤣 I think some kids are just able to do this.
@thinkinginn7443 I have that theory too, but it's not confirmed. However if we got a movie based on Mary(Boo) we could learn a bit more about her. Hell maybe who her parents are. I think it'd be sweet if her mother was Violet Parr(The Incredibles) and her dad is Tony Rydinger.
1:01:43 Sully's pupils dilate (get bigger) when he sees Boo again, which is something every human being's eyes do when you look at something or someone you love/feel strongly positive feelings about!
fun interpretation! but they actually dilate and contract depending on the lighting, (bigger in the light, Smaller in the dark) Which still is insane detail as it seems to be either morning or plain daytime at the end!
I personally find this one of the most creative Pixar films - the idea of the doors and the scream/laugh powered energy is incredible to me. There’s a plot idea someone posted years ago where Boo goes to college and Lilo is her roommate/w her “dog” Stitch, and something comes through their closet one night but Stitch pounces on it and the door gets pulled shut behind them and when Boo and Lilo open it again, Stitch is gone. So then Boo tells Lilo everything about her trip to monsters inc when she was a kid and they have to figure out how to get there to rescue Stitch. I would absolutely love to see a sequel like this, but I doubt if Disney would do a crossover/w Pixar like that even if they own both studios 😢
Omg really? Lilo & Stitch and Monsters Inc. were my favourite movies from ages 8-11 and I always felt like they could connect somehow. Maybe because the themes are similar; diverse families and love that surpasses blood links. The soundtracks are also very emotional and both endings get me in my feels every time 💔❤️🩹❤️
I heard that part of the Pixar Theory is that the old lady/witch in Brave is Boo, as she remembered Sully her whole life, and went on to discover some means of travel between worlds/time travel, searching for him throughout the dimensions. Kind of bittersweet.
It only accredited to me as now as a adult how inspired this movie is. Someone really came up with the elevator pitch “what if the “monster in the closet” was a 9-5 job”. That is such a brilliant writing prompt! And when someone likely brought up that even they were harmless. it could could reinforce that scary monsters are real to the younger kids watching. So obviously to avoid that, they added that of them being TERRIFIED of human children. And then they ironically made the decontamination the most memorable part of the movie. And likely from there came up with the idea of the character of Boo getting lose in a reverse “monster attack” to extra enforce this so the kid really understood that monsters weren’t anything to be afraid off. And give them a power fantasy about scaring monsters. Then from there they likely thought of adding the emotional element of a monster and human becoming friends as they try and get her home. I have no idea if that was the thought presses behind the movie. But it amazing how genuinely creatively simple this movie is. And with just logic can take a shot in the dark of how any given creative decision was made. As a writer myself, I think I need to study this movie more. I’m so glad you guy made this video. I forgot how brilliant Monsters Inc was and how much I loved it. On a personal note: This Unlocked a trove of memory. Like how this movie told me when I was 3-4 much like Boo, that I didn’t have anything to fear and all I needed to do was be brave little girl and the monsters would go away. Or even if they were even all that bad to begin with. Also as a grown up how truly monstrous Mr Waternoose was. Glad that even when I was younger I didn’t really think about the implication of monster kidnapping children for the soul purpose of making them live in fear to harvest their screams. Like wow, that horrifying in a way I can’t even describe. Even more so because of course how as a kid I fell for the twist and thought grmpa spider was nice till the end. Never forget stranger danger kids. Not all monster are monster, and not all nice people are nice people. Something else I never appreciated was just how fantastic Sully is as a person. Man is a Chad inside out. The only lesson he really needs to learn is to get over his fear of Boo. Otherwise his a model worker. nice to everyone he meets. a amazing best friend, doesn’t actively engage in the petty fights beyond healthy competition. He’s just a responsible adult who genuinely makes it a priority to get Boo back home safely from minute 1. Even when he’s scared of her he IS trying his best with the knowledge he’s been given. Seamless use of lampshading: answering any questions the audience by using mike. The audience could wonder why they don’t just open any door to get boo back to the human world and let them work it out. they handily demonstrate why they can’t. They don’t know we’re she’s from and just dropping her off anywhere for someone else to deal with would be incredibly irresponsible. That why they had that be mikes idea because we the audience already associate him with being irresponsible. and demonstrates how easy it was for him to just grab any old door key. And I just makes Sully look even better. Even his design is perfect, he looks like a big bear. The perfect balance of cute and on a dime can be made scary. And of course having John Goodman do the voice was perfect, he already has peek “dad energy” you buy the gruffness and the sweetness. Perfect casting. Can you tell I forgot how great this movie is?
Curious data: In The Incredibles 2 Jack-Jack has the powers those monsters said, also combined with the strage power of travel trough dimensions, so is theorized that those monsters actually saw Jack-Jack using his powers when he accidentally used his dimensional travel to go to Monstuopolis.
46:56 When Randall said "You don't know HOW long I've wanted to do that, Sullivan!" we (the audience) assumed that Randall and Sully have been relatively short-term rivals at work, probably just for a couple of years, 3 or 4 years at most. But then we get the prequel, Monsters University, and we learn that Randall actually used to be a pretty nice guy and his design with the glasses looked cute in a way that I never thought Randall could look. He looked more like a friendly plush toy with googly eyes, rather than the mean, squinty jerk he turned out to be later on. Randall actually tried to befriend Mike and Sully on separate occasions when they were in school, but when Mike humiliated Randall during his first shot at being the cool kid in college with the cupcake incident and then with the fraternity wars/Scare Games, Randall never really lived it down. Then both Mike and Sully got expelled from Monsters University and somehow still ended up getting their dream jobs working on the Scare Floors of Monsters, Inc. Randall probably went through his entire college career in the shadow of Mike and Sully because their escapade into the human world and subsequent expulsion was probably al any monster could talk about for years after. Randall likely hated Mike first and then when they became coworkers and competitors at Monsters, Inc., he started to hate Sully by extension. After all, Sully came from a renowned family of scarers, he had been expelled from scare school, and he had to work his way up the ladder at Monsters, Inc. in a way Randall didn't have to do. Sully was well-liked throughout his life and even Mike had a certain charisma that made him more likable to others than Randall ever was. Randall was likely jealous that against ALL odds, Mike and Sully were the best, most popular, and most liked Scare Floor workers seemingly without trying. That, combined with a lifetime inferiority complex, years of being bullied and ridiculed, and desire to be liked, Randall's jealousy and bitterness turned him into a ruthless and cunning villain.
That opening got me!😂 Also I know some people don’t like Monsters University but I think it’s really good actually! So maybe you’ll watch it soon?Unless you already seen it.

I don't know enough about you to give advice so I won't, but I do go through similar experiences with my depression and anxiety that I have experienced since I was in my teens (nearly 35 years old).
There’s actually another theory that the monsters talking to the news were actually not making anything nip, and a kid did shoot laser beams from his eyes and shake someone with their mind powers……and his name was Jack Jack 😂
If you search "marc anthony eat the kitten", You will find a treasure of an WB short. Basically, a bulldog adopts and loves a kitten, and tries to hid it from his owners, to his own peril (The kitten survives). -RE: the reference made when it's thought the kid goes through the garbrage system as an homage.
Monsters Inc. is one of my favorite Pixar movies. It's very emotional, has crazy actions and has the funniest moments. Boo is so adorable, funny and very clever when she disappeared and reappeared. Her voice actress, Mary Gibbs did an amazing job playing as Boo 💥💥💥😢😢😢💗💗💗🤣🤣🤣
If you take “time travel part of scaring”, let’s say that were scaring during the time of a plague- when kids would’ve really been toxic and that policy just stuck around forever, at least that how I had it explained to me
At 8:08 you can see the weekly scare schedule on the desk with the date being 5/29/2001. The time travel theory would be super cool though if it were true! I absolutely love this movie and this is the first time I've caught that detail. Great reaction guys!
Time travel doesn't make sense when you take into account that they're dealing with things like how 'kids today are getting harder and harder to scare' so if they were time traveling they could just always go to the time periods where kids were easier to scare
The reason I love this movie so much is bc my daughter literally used to be EXACTLY like Boo... I actually call my daughter Boo Bear and Boo for short.. I wanted her to be Boo in the monster costume when she was that age, but I couldn't find a costume that was perfect... But yes, I love how they capture exactly perfectly how a little girl that age acts and is.
One thing not a lot of people talk about with Pixar is the amazing voice acting. Tom Hanks/Tim Allen were born to voice Woody and Buzz Billy Crystal/John Goodman were born to voice Mike and Sully Ed Asner was born to voice Carl Ellen Degeneres was born to voice Dory
I seriously could not stop laughing when you mentioned repeatedly Boo's ability to disappear and reappear. I can tell you guys have not been in charge of small kids. Young kids do that all the time and give you mini heart attacks because of it. Since Stef has mentioned this topic multiple times, I also decided to be childfree adult as well. I love kids, but have zero interest in being a parent (and especially pregnancy/childbirth, but that is a different topic). Get so many comments as a woman in my 30s living in the US south not wanting kids. I love this movie because it is a good child-friendly version of indoctrination and showing how it is bad. The monsters literally never question it until they are forced to because they benefit from it. I watched this the day it came out just before I went to work and remembered I that I did not leave a comment. Oops!
i'm a newcomer to this channel and have been binge watching y'all's vids all day and i must say stef is like the cutest man ever haha love his jokes and reactions
I feel like the reason why Mike isn’t offended by constantly getting cut off in photos/videos is because he’s so used to it. Like in Monsters University his photo for his key card is him half way cut off. So I think he’s used to it because he’s had to go through it his whole life. Also I love that line “Kids these days, they don’t get scared like they used” Thanks to scary stories and scary movies or if you’ve got a parent that loves to scare you whenever your watching scary movies ( it’s always so funny 🤣) 😫🤣🤣
I saw somewhere at some point (don’t know if it’s canon) that monsters and humans don’t speak the same language, so that fact that Mike even *tried* to do a standup routine is hilarious to the audience, but obviously wouldn’t work for the kids 😂
They don't just think that kids are toxic... They are actually going back in time when they use the doors. So when they first started the program or this energy thing, they were going back in time when a massive plague was out in the human world. So technically kids were dangerous and disease ridden. Over time the plague ended and kids weren't disease ridden anymore, but they didn't know all that so they still think kids are "toxic". They can only go back in time a certain amount of time so as their timeline moves so does how far they can go back. They scare less easily now bc they are more happy children as they are considered safer in these times now... It all fits in with the whole Pixar theory thing. I don't believe all of the Pixar theories, but a lot of them make sense like this concept. It explains why they think children are toxic.
Not gonna lie, every time I see an upload from you guys I get so excited but for some reason my brain autocorrects your channel name to “Movie Broz”…. Hahaha great work guys! ❤
10:56 if Pixar was to make a movie that seamlessly connects their most well known animations, it would be absolutely epic. Also probably really emotional since all their movies are capable of making anyone cry, so just imagine them all combined.

Wahoo! I get to talk about the CDA code: 2319 is actually more clever than you think. The 23rd letter of the alphabet is W, and the 19th is S. Together, the code is code WS. What is the most common thing that gets brought back into the monster world? A white sock. 2319 is code for white sock. Just a theory, you say? Then let me offer up the other one that gets overlooked, from the CDA restaurant scene: 7835 = GHCE = Girl human child escaped Still not convinced? Here's the ones found in Monsters at Work: 1320 = MT = Monster trapped 418 = DR = Damaged room 42216 = DVP = Door Vault paperwork 1994 = SID = Shut it down
Fun fact: if you pause at 20:36 minutes in and look at the top of the sushi place menu, you can see it’s called Harryhausen’s, which is a reference to the now Late Great Ray Harryhausen who was the master of making stop motion monster movies.
ya know, my headcanon about the monsters being afraid of children is that the "powers that be" purposely told the civilians that children are dangerous so that they wouldn't try to use the doors too frequently or travel outside of the monster world. seems like a means to control the masses more than anything else. but I like the theory about not wanting them to get too attached as well. this is one of my all-time favorite Pixar movies. thanks for the reaction guys! ❤
Great reaction to a classic. I remember this when I was a kid. Too bad you couldn't watch the 'bloopers', those were always fun. You can find the bloopers on UA-cam, along with some of the other Pixar bloopers. “Running away from the pain doesn’t work!” …..tell that to my dad! 😂 He trapped his finger in the car door and was running up and down the Lane and when mum asked why, he said he was running from the pain 😅🤦♀️🤷♀️
There was a theory that the scream for power thing started in or they just went back in time too the time of the Black plague or any extreme sickness back then they led to a lot of monster deaths due to contact with children who were sick.

I feel very silly for not catching it until recently, but there was a pretty obvious clue that Randall had different intentions for Boo right from the start: no scare canister hooked up to the door machine.
In hindsight, Boo's ability to teleport/disappear matches really well with her monster, Randall.
I wonder if that was part of the thought process when they made that one of her qualities.

I am just a random viewer of Movie Budz, but want to show what little support I can. I truly hope you have been doing better for the last day and that it will continue.
Her voice actress, Mary Gibbs did an amazing job playing as Boo
💥💥💥😢😢😢💗💗💗🤣🤣🤣
Monsters Inc will forever be my comfort film, I love it so much
Not the ending making me cry while watching this with you guys😩😭😭
It sounds like Christy and Stef have a bit of a communication problem🤣
I was obsessed with this movie as a kid because I loved Billy Crystal. Still love this movie (and Billy) now at 24. Please watch When Harry Met Sally!
One thing not a lot of people talk about with Pixar is the amazing voice acting.
Tom Hanks/Tim Allen were born to voice Woody and Buzz
Billy Crystal/John Goodman were born to voice Mike and Sully
Ed Asner was born to voice Carl
Ellen Degeneres was born to voice Dory
Just commented to say that I love your guys' energy, it feels like I'm watching a movie with my friends 💜
This movie is so special to me! My childhood movie 🥺 20 years 🥺 Thank you 💜💜
I say this everytime, I absolutely adore this channel. The commentary is always intriguing! Thank you both.
I love that even Sully’s terrified yells and screams sound like roars.
When they come into adulthood humans don’t scream at the sight of monsters anymore, on the contrary they will stay paralyzed in bed. xD
You guy's trying to make this kids movie make sense in the real world is awesome😂
37:00 if you guys legit did the avatar the last airbender series I would probably cry happy tears 💕
(even tho I know you’re the MOVIE buds)
ahhh yes!! i feel like they'd love atla 😊
the older I get, the cuter the little toddler girl gets lol
10:56 if Pixar was to make a movie that seamlessly connects their most well known animations, it would be absolutely epic. Also probably really emotional since all their movies are capable of making anyone cry, so just imagine them all combined.
my favorite budz getting me through work this morning
love this one! monsters university is actually really great too, and an amazing allegory for going to school with a disability. i’ve missed y’all! been so busy finishing college 🫶🏾 about to marathon all your recents
I was feeling a bit down today bit as soon as your video popped at my page it made me smile♡
I always love the intros in the beginning and I really love Stef's nails they look good ☺️👍
As always loved your insightful commentary paired with a good portion of humor 💜💜💜
Wahoo! I get to talk about the CDA code:
2319 is actually more clever than you think.
The 23rd letter of the alphabet is W, and the 19th is S.
Together, the code is code WS.
What is the most common thing that gets brought back into the monster world? A white sock.
2319 is code for white sock.
Just a theory, you say? Then let me offer up the other one that gets overlooked, from the CDA restaurant scene:
7835 = GHCE = Girl human child escaped
Still not convinced? Here's the ones found in Monsters at Work:
1320 = MT = Monster trapped
418 = DR = Damaged room
42216 = DVP = Door Vault paperwork
1994 = SID = Shut it down
i love this movie so much!!!! i watched it on dvd a million times growing up. your commentary was amazing, as always :)
my comfort pair watching all my comfort movies
I find it so funny that they refer to Boo as a four-year-old, when her speaking level is that of like a 2 year-old at most
Randall's plan is the equivalent of fracking.
never stop making these commentaries, they are so funny!! also, can you do monsters university?
Fun fact: If you look at the trailer Randal ends up in, it is the same one the bug city in "Bug's Life" is underneath.
The animated movies reactions wave has been super awesome, thanks guys ^^
Fun fact: if you pause at 20:36 minutes in and look at the top of the sushi place menu, you can see it’s called Harryhausen’s, which is a reference to the now Late Great Ray Harryhausen who was the master of making stop motion monster movies.
The best morning gift is waking up to the movie budz uploading a new video ❤
I still remember when the Monsters Inc University came out, apparently I watched 4 times in a row… I would though!
ya know, my headcanon about the monsters being afraid of children is that the "powers that be" purposely told the civilians that children are dangerous so that they wouldn't try to use the doors too frequently or travel outside of the monster world. seems like a means to control the masses more than anything else. but I like the theory about not wanting them to get too attached as well. this is one of my all-time favorite Pixar movies. thanks for the reaction guys! ❤
STEF! I like your nails! I do my nails like that! Alternating colors and such. It was just cute to see! Really love your content, guys!
So this is the firs time I watched in English and I'm not gonna lie the LATAM dub it's just priceless. I love your reactions btw. XO
Thanks for reminding me why I love this film guys and how smart it was
I enjoy this channel so much. Great reaction, Buds. 😍 I hope Monster's University is next.
There's a theory that Boo is actually Abby from Turning Red and that this is experience is why she loves fluffy Mae
I remember coming across a theory that little Boo was supposed to be Violet from 'The Incredibles'.
Fun Fact : Sully is based off of/named after a teacher from Sheldon High named Mr. Sullivan, who is an animation teacher.
I won't ever stop saying "Mike wazowski" in Rozʼs voice 😂
Great reaction to a classic. I remember this when I was a kid. Too bad you couldn't watch the 'bloopers', those were always fun. You can find the bloopers on UA-cam, along with some of the other Pixar bloopers.
Also, did you have to mention "secret tunnel", now I got that song stuck in my head and I only just got it out of my after a ATLA marathon
Gentlemen, a pizza&beer watch party would be SUCH a great night🍻🍕
Much love from Africa
“Running away from the pain doesn’t work!” …..tell that to my dad! 😂 He trapped his finger in the car door and was running up and down the Lane and when mum asked why, he said he was running from the pain 😅🤦♀️🤷♀️
Movies, especially animated movies, really need to bring back bloopers at the end :')
literally yesterday i was like hmm when r they gonna post again and low and behold 😭😭, thank you guys 😊
No worries 😊 - Sam
this is my favorite childhood movie i love yall are reacting to it!
There was a theory that the scream for power thing started in or they just went back in time too the time of the Black plague or any extreme sickness back then they led to a lot of monster deaths due to contact with children who were sick.
Yay another upload!! Just got done watching y'all's Cruella vid for like the third time lol keep up the amazing work guys, y'all bring a lot of smiles to so many people 😊😊
WAIT I DIDNT KNOW YALL DID MONSTERS INC OMH OM GOM HOMGGG! THIS IS MY FAVOURITE DISNEY MOVIE - PIXAR OR NOT
I loved this film growing up. I had it on vhs and it was the same colour as Sullie. I would ask my mum for pigtails and call it boo hair as I thought that’s what it was called.
I feel very silly for not catching it until recently, but there was a pretty obvious clue that Randall had different intentions for Boo right from the start: no scare canister hooked up to the door machine.
LIVING for Stef’s head band ngl it suits him
Falling asleep while watching this will apparently make me fever dream being a child.
Grew up watching this movie and love it
Man, one of my favorites ever! This should be fun.❤. I feel like I’ve become Roz at my age.
