This Gas Mask Has a Scary Catch

The M9 gas mask was used by the US military during the Korean and Vietnam war. However, many gas masks during the Second World War were made with asbestos which likely carried over into the Korean war. While I have never found any extreme warnings saying that M9 filters made in 1953 do contain asbestos, one manual I found did confirm that they were made with it for at least some time. Better safe than sorry.
